Aussies giving the england batsmen lots of chin music here!

Eng 34/1 - pretty even 1st hour of the series between two sides!

A very low key start compare to 05 and 06 but there goes cooky boy lets see what our ravinder is made of.
Are you watching on a 15 min delay?

Sophia Gardens is unrecognisable from thi stime last year!

Strange to see an Australian bowler consistently swing the ball at 90mph.

Has great potential the Hilf....

Strauss playing well - coping with the responsibility thrust upon him

siddles fastest ball at 90.2, avg 88

The great Peter Siddle has been a favourite of mine and earned himself the moniker "great" because his first ball in Test cricket on a dead flat pitch in India hit Gambhir in the head at 147kph.

:D

:D

I am now a fan of 'The Siddel'

MJ back onto bowl after drinks

The bottom line is that without line and length, pace is completely useless. I can see why Johnson is struggling to pitch right area. The rest of them are doing fine and swinging bit with their fine pace.

internet's been on the blink! argh!

decent partnershp starting here (hope its not teh kiss of deathh)

Billy Doctrove denies an LBW shout - was hitting leg!

Strauss gloves a short one to slip! OUT

67-2 off 20 overs

Andrew Strauss bamboozled by Johnson with the exact 92 mph, raring pace.

Fine sensation delivery of Johnson.

We use to look forward to watch Warne at this stage.man I am starting to miss him big time. Ashes is not the same without the great man.

Was not warne suppose to join sky team for this series?

I think he has a poker tournament that he is attending

warnie's still probably having shenanigans with Shilpa after their celebratory drinks together

ravi rolling out teh 4s here

87-2

Very slow over rate - can they bowl 7 overs in 14 mins?

I remember sky announcing during WI series that he will be joining them for ashes but they have gone all quiet since.

Poor shot off a slow ball - Ravi goes...

MJ gets his 2nd wkt

90-3

The 'slower one' delivery was pretty much tricky which gave wrong impression to Bopara. Anyways, it was poor shot though.

This is Australia session. As someone said, Test cricket is all about session. One poor session did cost Pakistan team badly.

And ppl were saying Aus got weak bowling attack. They are still better then broad anderson and monty.

England batting line up looking a little light now

Colly against teh ozzies doesnt inspire too much confidence in my book

and i think prior's is a gimme wicket

England seem to be in Trouble :yk , Their struggling on a Flat track :13: , Thank God their not playing on a seaming track. :D

Ozzie bowling attack's inexperience is showing

- 11 extras in the 1st session... Pigeon would be frowning

My My This bowling attack is turning out to be a good one , but I still believe it could have been better with Lee

Lunch - Day 1

Eng: 97-3 (27)

going to be all out 210, or getting up to 400-7 I reckon. either way I'd always give us a chance when we're bowling last at home. should be a great test match!

Aussies session the 1st one with them taking 3 wickets. England need a partnership here and ideally need KP to get some big runs and take the attack to the Aussies.

Yes, this is very ordinary. They need to fix that.

Need to get rid of Kevinder. The rest of the batting lineup doesn't really scare me if we can get rid of Kevinder.

hauritz is turning and bouncing the ball not good signs for the aussie line up

Get rid of Horrorneria first. Bowl someone useful from both ends. :P

Both batsman have made half-centuries ( Ball Wise ) , Now they are set to make half-centuries ( Run Wise )

We need a breakthrough. Need Kevinder's wicket so we can roll them for sub-300 which would be pleasing.

in that case they're both centurians (time wise)

Warne took forty wkts in 2005 ashes. That's a big hole to fill for Australia

That's because he was bowling with Lee, Gillespie and Kasper who were all out of form. But I agree, Horroritz isn't going to come up with even a fifth of those numbers.

I don't think Horry has done that bad so far - was expecting a lot worse and this is teh 1st day of a test match after all

Temptation would be to over bowl MJ

And you know Ricky Ponting, he will overbowl him.

As for Horrorwitz, I would delighted if he could take 5 wickets for the series.

Very glad they went with Hilf instead of Clark, Hilf is the future, Clark the past.

And I hate KP.....but he is a fine player.

The problem with Horrorwitz is that he is not any more effective when it turns. Most spinners you have to carry for part of the match (or matches) so when you get a fourth or fifth day wicket they can do the damage. But not him.

:)) :)))

How fast is Horroritz bowling? I remember the guy for having the most sexiest off spin action.

The last 40 minutes have been pretty boring. England have been scoring at a traditional test match run rate since lunch.

looks like KP just had a life- haddin lets the ball thro his leg

colly capitalises with a couple of 4s

If both guys get 50s then their well set for triple figures , Aus are looking in trouble right now .
