Dear god!!!!

How much more will they want to make the aussies suffer?

Everytime I watch Anderson is trying to give his wicket away but the ball just isn't getting the outside edge required!

its all because ravi got dropped.
He showed his skills couple of days ago hitting 200

Why is Watson in team? He doesn't bowl anymore

Looks like a crushing win for england on its way here!

England have scored something like 315/5 today. Is the pitch 'that' bad then? Surely the Aussies can't chase 550-600 can they? they did manage 400 in the last innings at Lords despite losing their top 4 cheaply.

Looks like englands inclusion of Trott was justified!

Trott out on 119 (192) - last 10 overs 31 (19b)
England Last 10 ovs 64/2 RR 6.40
Eng 373-9 declared after 95 overs

No wicket in first over. 20 overs left today. A chance of run out in second over
Aus need 541 more with 10 wickets in hand

9.6 Harmison to Watson, no run, 93mph or 149kph, there's a stifled lbw shout but no real interest from any of the England players

Watson's looking a prime lbw candidate today again

Australia not going down without a fight, i have been very impressed by Katich a real fighter. Fielded brilliantly, batted well and scoring some quick runs again.

Amazing how many straight balls he misses.

Rubbish technique for an opener.

Aussies 56/0 - 1/10th of the way there.

61/0 -

Come on Australia. If England win this there will be OBEs/MBEs/DVDs flying out left right and centre.

We'll never hear the end of it in the media.

Records are made to be broken!!!

Thats because hes not an opener.

I actually give him credit for his consistancy despite him not being an opener

They didn't cheer Flintoff as much as they're cheer Broad on

Pitch suddenly doing very little, scoring is quite rapid.

Oh lo and behold another lbw chance against Watson - too high this time.

72/0

Stuart Broad really knows how to bowl on this pitch.

Has looked dangerous already.

yeah, already 2 edges induced

beaten the bat and an lbw shout

all in 2 overs by Broad

Probably because of roller at start of innings. There will be abother one tomorrow morning???? and then whole day without it

Australia got to 73-0 1st innings too

Stumps, its gonna be a great day tomorrow & its a Sunday gonna be great to watch these two teams battle it out for the Ashes

80/0 at close.

Well over 400 runs have been scored today with the loss of 6 wickets.

More of the same tomorrow and Aus will be close to winning the Ashes.

haha if only cricket were so black and white.

end of day 3
Watson 31(69) - Katich 42(53)
Aus 80-0 after 20 overs - need 466 more with 10 wickets and 180 overs left

Excellent stuff by these two openers. If they can get a big opening stand together this could be possible but as of now England should be happy after a fantastic day with the bat.

England just need a breakthrough, pitch is going and it seems that Broad and Swann are the two most suited to this pitch.

Even Collingwood might be difficult prospect on here, Harmison and Anderson look rather less threatening as does Flintoff, but you just never know with him.

Harmisons selection is a waste. Panesar should have played instead. England need atleast one more spinner as well, probably some part timer to share the work load. Swann cannot do it alone.

I might get a day off work .. or at least attend a parade.. :) :))

But I do think it would be good if England one, I have warmed to them quite a bit in the series. I would be upset for a the likes of Clarke, North and Hilfenhaus who have impressed me (and also our resident PP Aus fans :) )

Looks like Punter will lose the ashes for 2nd time as skipper.

England have dominated in this test match!

You don't live here ... if they win it'll be a never ending procession of how their the greatest team on God's green Earth

The target is a loong way away but Australia have started with intent. Another couple of good sessions for Australia and England will start to get jittery. Could end up being a great test match.

Just seen on Sky sports that the highest successful chase in the 4th inns of any first class match is 513. That puts this target into perspective. Having said that England were on their way to a 696 run target in a test in S Africa all those years ago in a timeless test but had to cut short the chase because they had to catch the ship back home. They ended on 654-5

Why didn't they go for another 40 or so runs?

Edit - Oops look like you had already answered that!

No chance of winning this game now - we just have to save it, which is impossible with 2 days to go on a breaking pitch

And to make my weekend even worse, we lost the Bledisloe Cup to the All Blacks in NZ this morning! :po: :(

Im going down to cricket in the park today, where they have setup huge screens here in regents park, to hopefully witness an england ashes win, come on england!

Sorry but the All Blacks all the way for me, even if they do choke every time a world cup comes round

Depends entirely on how long your openers bat for. If these two go on to make a 200 run partnership anything is possible even on this pitch. The first session as usual will be extremely crucial to your chances.

I hope the Aussies take it to day 5 and make this test match a classic. A successful Aussie chase is almost possible but as all the uncles say "in cricket anything is possible".

Pigs will fly before we chase this target. It's 100+ runs more than the greatest chase ever, and this is on a crumbling wicket too.

I may have good news for you. I live on the fifth floor; was sitting next to a window reading and I think I saw something pink pass by.

Dear Muslim Brother Momo:

Fact that you are now imagining haram animals flying past your fifth floor window is greatly disturbing.

Pls feed 20 poor people and say Tauba 100 times.....

I too thought for a moment that it was the fast that was doing it but refused to accept it. Now that you have pointed it out as well, I think I need to be careful about what I report till after iftari.

Australia is the biggest fighting team in global cricket- they recover from impossible situations more often than any other side. Having said that, the task ahead is huge but I'm still going to watch it in hope for a historical achievement. Even if they come close, it's going to be a brilliant effort and definitely worth the watch

Day 4 begins.

And Swann strikes in his 2nd over - gets Katich LBW offering no stroke

86-1

Broad bowling well! It took him a couple of years to start bowling full!

And now Watson goes!!

Another beauty from Broad!

LBW! Plumb

86-2

Dont know what Watson's problem is - pad 1st!! Thats OUT! Even Warne accepts it!

Should be a nice fine for Watson - waving his bat around after being dismissed!

Just because your bat hit your pad, doesnt mean you hit the ball!!!

Wait - who is the match ref? No action likely to be taken in reality....
