This is embarrassing from Jadeja at the moment. A quick 30 would have been better. England can't chase 220/230 on a last day.
On a pitch with some grass, I would retain Binny and drop jadeja.
So if Binny saves the day, will you keep him for the next test?
On dry Lords wicket?

Ability. You are talking as if he is intentionally doing it.
He is unable to connect bat with ball. Hence he is just blocking stuff to simply stay.

Guys call me crazy but India losing these wickets actually gives us a chance.
India is losing those wickets cos there is something in the pitch.
If India can muster up some 200 lead and give England to chase it in 50 overs, the ONUS is on England to survive those overs.
However its risky to give them 200 to chase in 60 overs. Then I would prefer a target of 220 - 230.
lords wicket hardly assist spinner so no use of taking 2 spinners i would stick to the same line up and tinker with the line up from the 3rd test
if Dhawan fails GG comes in
if Binny and jadeja fail ashwin and rohit sharma
if shami fails ishwar/aaron comes in
Forget about all that. This is a five test series and let's take it one step at a time - let's hope that they bat again and Cook gets out early.
The pressure will build on him leading into another test and he's captain as well.
No way we're winning this.
Ashwin will be useful with all the lefties in Lords. What do you say about that?
Ashwin even when he was ripped apart in ODIs averages 20's against lefties. Good batman too.

Lordd has more chance of assisting seamers if there is cloud cover. It hardly ever spins at LordsSo if Binny saves the day, will you keep him for the next test?

Imagine of India do a Pakistan, I mean this http://www.espncricinfo.com/pakistan-v-england-2012/engine/match/531629.html.
better batsman and more reliable
so you are recommending ashwin for binny? or jadeja?

I was thinking the same. But that looks too good to be true.
I am asking you the question. I think Ashwin should play. A spinner's 1-2 wickets helps the team a great deal.
I am asking you whom should he replace if you feel he must come in?
200 is not easy to chase on final day , poms batting is also shaky on the top.
I would probably drop Jadeja for Ashwin. Ashwin is a better Test Bat and Spinner. Lords recently has been a flat deck but when there is considerable cloud cover it can swing around a lot. But it hardly spins the surface stays the same most of the time it actually gets better for batting as the game wears on.So what would you do when choosing 5 bowlers?
3 pacers - Binny/Ashwin - Jaddu/Ashwin
4 pacers - Binny/Ashwin/Jaddu

i will stick to jadeja and binny for the 2nd test as i said earlier.. ashwin won't bring much on that pitch as a bowler but it will be and jadeja and Binny's last chance

Ashwin is as good as binny with bat , in test matches.

Yes but the question is combination that works in bowling.
Is it worth it to go with 2 spinners in Lords if it isn't going to assist them?
Or Ashwin should come in place of Binny or Jaddu if he comes in at all.
Dhoni is not seeing things that way . He will keep playing jadeja and make sure he is a ten over bowler at WC .
Yeah i suspect with all the moaning about this pitch. The Lords groundsman will be instructed to leave some grass on the pitch. Which could actually favour Binnys selection. Would be harsh on Jadeja to get dropped though. That would be my view too.
But its slightly harsh on Jaddu but I would go for it.
The problem is if Ashwin doesn't pick up wickets or even contains like Jaddu.
Ashwin is more attacking sure he might go for a bit but he is more of a wicket taker. Plus against these newbie English lefties he could do well. That would be my view too.

This is assuming Lord's has something for a bowler like Binny. Or else I would play 2 spinners or play 1 spinner and 1 proper pacer in place of Binny.
In Australia, I see Jaddu getting slaughtered.
India has invested a lot in him , to play as a bowling all rounder at seven.
binny has his haters but if you look at seriously india needs a fast bowling all rounder struggled big time off let the only fast bowling all rounder comes to mind is Irfan pathan before that sanjay bangar

Problem is that people start to expect too much with the bat from bowling all rounders and then they start working on there batting , as a result batting suffers.
Just encourage them with the ball and take whatever comes with the bat.

When you an ATG test batsman like Dhoni at No 6, its natural to expect batting from our bowling allrounders.
If not for these 2, India could have been in a match losing position today.
exactly india needs a bowling all rounder than a batting all rounder
Yes , Indian batting is good enough
A bowling all rounder can be beneficial in overseas tour.
