Well Collingwood is among my least favorite players, so lets hope his stumps go for a walk sooner than later. There's only so much he can do! :D

England has to not lose a wicket today and put atleast 150 runs more for people to even continue watching the match. It is a sell out tomorrow

95.2 Kumble to Collingwood, 1 run, nudged to midwicket and Collingwood decides to take the single to expose Tremlett

WHATS HE DOING????!!!!

CAULI gone

96.2 Zaheer to Collingwood, THATS OUT!! Caught!!

Cue celebrations, footballer-style in Zaheer's case, as he aeroplanes around. He'll take off if he's not careful

"Cue celebrations, footballer-style in Zaheer's case, as he aeroplanes around. He'll take off if he's not careful. Sidebottom the man coming in with a leaden step, weight on his shoulders, and bat in hand"

Shoaib wanna be??
Just kiddin, well bowled Zaheer, you were always gonna be India's main threat along with Kumble!! And to think, a couple of months ago, Zaheer's international carrer seemed over.

bring Sreesanth on. This is a good oppurtunity to see a new item/number/move from him

What’s the point of having such a long gap between the second and third test, with a practise match in between? Wouldn't it have made more sense to have done that after the first test?

Hopefully Zaheer gets the last wicket to get his 10 for the match
I wished too.. but now wonder whether anderson will survive Kumble's over..

Game over. Series 1-1.

I doubt England will win the last test, it'll probably be a draw, with a mixture of the weather and the flattest of all pitches in England at the Brit Oval.

At least the tail (or rather, Sidebottom) is getting some runs.

Well done to India - England sent back to the "good" old days !

However, if India feel that they have won the series, then they have another thing coming.

11 overs if they take the extra half hour.

i wonder if they'll go for it to save coming back tomorrow

Arghhhhhhh a crappy collapse but it was always on the cards. The 1st innings batting just wasnt good enough. Well done India, hopefully test 3 is just as entertaining as the first two have been and we can square the series...

Whippy - i remember one of your posts (before the series had even started) complained of how boring these 3 tests would be ... Dismissing the bowlers of both the teams, you predicted the series to be a dull contest between only the batsmen of either teams ...

How wrong could you be ! :13:

I know. And before the series, both attacks did look very poor. But they've stepped up to the plate and the sporting wickets have helped the general quality of cricket. These have been two of the best tests of the last few seasons between any two sides, lets hope the third provides a fitting end to an entertaining series whatever the result may be.

I am just surprised at the amount of swing for the bowlers...the ball which got KP was an Akram like ball.

This is shaping up like 2006 England in India series

1st test - England are better side but draw
2nd test - England batting collapse and India have an easy chase + crushing win

3rd test - England crush India again???

PP,our bowlers are underrated. :D
think they have been working hard..Zaheer has alll of a sudden become a top tier bowler, RP Singh who looked out of depth is now bowling these magic balls and Sreesanth when not doing too many 'extracurricular activities is always going to be a threat

Well played India. They have this game in the bag.

England need to come back hard at them at the Oval.

What a disgrace that Sreesanth was today though.

India clung on 1st test and now have improved there performance and deserve victory if they get there. It goes to show you need some luck at times in a series but you can always fight back.

Zaheer khan has been superb thus far for india with ball in both test matches.

The match is by no means over yet, but their should be no trouble chasing 73.

Today, I dare the English feilders to place 'jelly beans' on the wicket, and I don't want them to keep quiet either.

It would be funny if it started pouring with rain when India need 5 runs to win.

Basically the same thing happened to us in the first test, except we needed 1 wicket. India played well in this game but I'm sorry, they simply don't deserve to be 1-0 up over the course of the two matches. Luck runs out eventually, hopefully this will be as soon as the Oval and the final series result is a slightly better reflection of the series.

aye Whippy, I hear ya

We'll wipe their smug grins off at The Oval, don't worry.

The only disappointment is that an England side will probably never end up beating the classic Indian batting lineup of the last decade (Dravid, Tendulkar, Laxman, Ganguly et al) in a test series. They were basically the only team we didn't beat under Duncan Fletcher and we could and should have done it this summer really.

4.3 Anderson to Karthik, FOUR!!, Anderson bangs it in short outside the off stump, steep bounce gets big on the right hander, Karthik gets on top of it, rides the bounce well, rolls his wrists and punches it square of the wicket for four, cracking shot!!!

5.2 Sidebottom to Jaffer, FOUR!!, this is a beauty of a delivery and that needed a lot of effort and technique to put it away, good length delivery on the middle and leg, jabs back into him, Jaffer closes the face of the bat and whips it to backward square leg for four, no chance for the fielder in the deep, excellent shot!!!

6.5 Anderson to Karthik, FOUR!!, wild delivery this, way outside the off stump on that occasion, loads of width and Karthik latches onto in a flash, Karthik goes on the backfoot and cuts it to deep backward point for four, does not care to keep it down and that went flying away into the fence

Who really asked England to let India bat until the last hour of play ?? Appreciate the efforts of Laxman and Dhoni in that perspective ... If not for their resistance, the rain which came down later wouldn't have mattered much ! The fact is - the very same rain led to some overcast conditions and swung the ball viciously on day 2 which led to both India's meak total and England's collapse ... If there were similar conditions (as there were on day 2) on day 1 - England would NEVER have scored 250 runs at the loss of 4 wickets only ...

India played well in this game but I'm sorry, they simply don't deserve to be 1-0 up over the course of the two matches. Luck runs out eventually, hopefully this will be as soon as the Oval and the final series result is a slightly better reflection of the series.
Even in the course of two matches, its England thats had ALL the support of the umpires ... When a player of Pietersen's class gets a let-off, its a huge mistake ... He didn't cash in ! Same with Collingwood ... Neither did he cash in on the mistake by the umpire ... As for the Indian batsmen - both Sachin and Ganguly were on the receiving end ... The lead was reduced by about 50 runs there ...

Luck can be blamed in the case of Vaughan's dismissal for England ... But no way can you say that India doesn't deserve to be 1-0 up !!!

The fact is : everything of your and my analyses are based on assumptions ... but there is a very high probability that my assumptions under the mentioned conditions would have come true than yours ...

11.4 Sidebottom to Jaffer, FOUR!!, Sidebottom bangs it in short on the middle and leg, straying down the leg side, Jaffer goes on the backfoot and looks to pull it, top edges it just wide of the keeper, down to fine leg for four

11.5 Sidebottom to Jaffer, FOUR!!, Sidebottom strays down the leg side, straying onto the pads, Jaffer closes the face of the bat and tucks it to fine leg for back to back boundaries, finest of tickles on that

15.5 Sidebottom to Dravid, FOUR!!, fuller length delivery on the middle and leg, straying onto the pads, Dravid comes on the frontfoot and whips it between midwicket and long on for four, excellent wrist work to get off the mark here, off the mark with a boundary

It wasn't as 'lop sided' as that.
1. Ganguly and Tendulkar put on a masterclass.
2. Englands inexperienced somewhat bowlers (can't blame them, no Hoggard, Harmison, Flintoff) couldn't handle 'em.
3. All openers made 30+.

Even taildenders scored more that 20.
Put on an imposing total.

England performed well; but it was more to do with the inconsistency of the Indie bowlers. Vaughans knock was good however. One of the knocks. I'd say Gangulys 73 was still better lol.
Collapsed; but it was their own fault; and the quality seam bowling...
and voala....

Actually that leg glance for 4 from Jaffer , they found some jellybeans in the outfield ! :))

dravid and tendulkar are in...on average, these two players have a potential for a 110 partership each time they come....wow.

9 runs needed and 1 over left...joking....82 overs minimum and 9 runs left with two of the worlds best batsmen at crease...how long left?

tendulkar has faced around 7-8 balls and he has failed to score yet....
