What did I say about Rohit in that Ashwin thread?

He is a comedian.

Coming down the wicket and smashing 4 of Moeen Ali before too. I was very skeptical about that.

Now this.

He is a comedian.

Can't be trusted.
 
Still cant get over that shot its something Umar Akmal would do a complete brainfade

Why do you have to play a bone headed shot? 50 was there for taking.

This is the reason why he will not succeed in Test Cricket. The difference between Rohit and Rahane is clearly there to see.

True. He needs to practice not playing those shots. Its an instinctive thing which he cannot think and solve.

Only way is to practice his leaves and get it into his subconscious.

Pujara must work on his concentration. Its getting a little bit concerning now.

He is the best Test batsmen in the team but he is messing it up big time.
 
we all knew what was coming after the selection why don't the team team officials don't understand

ashwin can get you a fifty at 50 and also bowl u 40-45 overs in a innings

such a rubbish selection
 
This is the turning point in the match. India could have easily made 400 and saved the Test had Rohit and Rahane carried on their work for another session.

Now India will be in complete saving over defensive mode.

This is exactly why I find it hard to trust Rohit and I find it very surprising that many Pak fans believe in Akmal.

They are talented and have all the ability. But they both play too many aerial shots and don't know when to play what.

Just not trustworthy.

The signs were there before too.

Its just that his previous shot went for 4 and since it went for 4, it would have went unnoticeable.

Binny played the same shot in 2 innings. In one innings, he played a match saving 78. In another innings he got out.

The problem these people don't understand is that even if this shot comes with a 90% success rate, the team CANNOT AFFORD that 10% failure rate at a crucial juncture.

Guys like MSD and Kohli never play such shots in ODIs in crucial moments and that's why they are so good.

Completely agree. Ashwin would have scored 40 runs easily and would have bowled some 30 overs too.

Never understood the selection of Rohit (who cares if he is talented) over Ashwin. I do not want stylish 30 runs. I want a dogged 50 runs and a couple of wickets too. Only Ashwin can provide that.

Unless Rohit does some miracle in the 2nd innings, he will be out of Test squad soon. He better stick to ODI's and T20's.

Its not I want Dhoni removed right now. I want him to select a proper team. You also know how much of a damage he has already inflicted in this Test.

Reg captain - I don't have problem with a lulloo captain for a while if it means we are rebuilding properly. Dhoni has to compete for a spot in the Test team. Its not a sure shot guarantee.

If I really need to choose a captain, I will choose Kohli or Pujara or even Ashwin (if he can confirm his spot overseas). So mainly Kohli or Pujara for now.

I don't mind having a rubbish captain for a while if the playing XI is selected on merit.

But again, I am NOT asking for Dhoni to be removed right now. Want him to select the right team for this series and we will see how things go when we play the next series.

lol....if ashwin has to bowl 45 overs in an innings then the match is already gone
 
Will England enforce follow on? I hope they would.. Atleast our bowlers will escape some punishment on this flat pancake..

I think coz we as Pakistanis have lower standards for batting. U Akmal despite all his inconsistencies still has a decent avg 37-38 in ODIS which for a Pak batsman is great going. If U Akmal was Indian he would probably just be an IPL basher and probably wouldnt get into the India team. Same as say if Junaid or Irfan was Indian they would get more hype but in Pak you are always compared to two Ws and hardly any bowler can match them
 
The pitch is horribly flat.. How can a team which scored 290 on the snakepit at Lord's bat like this on a flat pancake?! Inexplicable..

Someone in this thread got offended when I pointed out that Rahane isn't that great against spin.

Long hop and he couldn't put it away?

This should have been put away 10 out of 10 times.

if you are judging Rahane struggles against spin by seeing him [MENTION=43028]K[/MENTION]otla last year,dont forget it was a snakepit

ENgland bowlers did not bowl any better than our bowlers.

THe only difference is that our batsmen were gifting their wickets away and England slip fielders can actually take catches when presented. Our slip fielders ensured that England batsmen got back into form.

The difference is the slip catching so far in this game.
 
I am sure Rahane will sort out his spin issue but just pointed it out as an aspect.

This Moeen Ali dismissal was a freak one but hey he did get out to him this innings and was not given out and now couldn't put away a simple long hop.

So yes, work must be done.

His shot wasn't shocking his dismissal was of course.. He got unlucky.. What he needs is to put on some muscle weight. He is good against pacers because he likes ball coming on to the bat but against spinners he has to force the issues that's probably why he struggles a bit.

Dhoni and Jadeja need to counter attack...they can't stay at the crease for long...might as well get some runs
 
Killing time is all waste. We don't have that skill anyway.

We need runs.

400 is the safety mark.

But right now at this rate, first let's target 300 and then think about the rest.
 
If India surpasses follow on by even 1 run. It is a biggg win for India......I mean draw
 
Massive defeat for India on the cards like I said yesterday.
 
The batsmen played some bad bad shots! India became complacent after the win at Lord's, atleast it looks like it..

Playing some rash shots as if they were playing some T20!
 
England will not enforce follow on for sure. They would bat for 2 more sessions and demoralize India for the rest of the series..
