England v Pakistan | 3rd ODI | Birmingham | 13th July, 2021 | Pakistan innings

I think , Pakistan has read the pitch well. They are going for 250-275, should be good enough to defend.

Meanwhile Ireland score 290 in their 50 overs against SA and here Pakistan to struggling to put up 250+.

I think its better for Babar and pak if he stays 3rd ranked or even2nd odi ranked batsmen. Because he doesnt have the ability to prove that he is the no.1 odi batsmen in the world this also creates unneccesary pressure on Babar to play slow and score runs to remain no.1.

Maqsood, Faheem, Shadab and Hassan will have to do some big hitting in the last 10 overs . Wickets in hand is the key.

Pakistan should look to reach 210-220 by the 40th over.

When was the last time that happened? Shadad and faheem big hitting in LOI'S

Babar is well set for another 100 but some people's will still criticize him bcz he perform in dead rubber .

Problem with Imam is the longer he bats the lesser his SR would get. Expect him to reach 50 in 70 then 70 in 95 and then maybe 105 in 130 balls..no acceleration .

Babar and Imam are doing the right thing. Set up the platform before going big. Get to 130 by 30 overs and get 150 in the last 20. 280 would be above par, Pak bowling can defend that.

Bumble on commentary reckons this is a 300 plus wicket.

If he scores a slow 100 and Pakistan are unable to defend the target then he will be criticized. But if his 100 turns out to be a match winning one then he will get some praise even if it's a dead rubber.

Parkinson should be targeted. Singles, doubles, boundaries.

We need to bring the run-rate up in the next 7 overs.

Like watching the hulk, the pak-mexicano guy with the dhol, the dictator etc...these guys dress up and make an effort, i think i have see them in most pak matches in Eng in last few years....they add so much to the entertainment value....also your guys have some of the best wicket celebrations -the afridi star , the hasan ali fire cracker, fawad alam's unique bat raise....so good for the game

Kohli was never a natural six-hitter and the the fag end of his career he is never going to be.

Few sisxes he managed are mostly pure timing and then power.

That's what makes him so good to watch.

You don't need power to hit sixes, wonderful timing is another level. Truly sublime.

This is a good performance from Pakistan. First order of the day is to score 250 + and PAK might actually do that today. No point going gung ho for 350 and ending up with 150-200

Quite shocking that Babar started at 4 (23) and now is on the same level as Imam, showing that Imam does not accelerate as he should have.

If by over 35 we have wickets in hand, we will need to start bashing the ball around.

Imam ul Haq fans will come out now like a pack of wolves, forgetting his failures in the first two games. Their excuse will be “everyone fails in one or two games”.

Decent base building by Imam and Babar. Both have the liberty to push now and atleast one of them should try to go till the end.

Foreign teams no longer playing county teams when they first arrive is having an impact on preparations and means that players only finding form well into a series...miss the days when I used to go watch Pakistan play Essex and Kent...

Thats outdated thinking. In today's white-ball cricket you should be able to hit the ball out of the part with sheer power. You won't get enough balls good enough to time it over the boundary.

Win or lose Imaam has sorted his spot for the next series. That is all their concern.

One of them needs to up the SR.. but knowing these two they try and play till the end because both dont have a power game

One good over here somewhere and Eng can be put under pressure by Pak with 9 wickets remaining currently

Yeah Fakhar-Babar is a much better combination due to Fakhar’s power hitting abilities.

270-280 will be a good score here. There's no Roy and Butler opening the innings for which a 350+ score is needed. Be realistic. If Pakistani bowlers bowl well then that is a decent enough total.

Absolutely. That should have been the gameplan before Imam getting out. Now Babar should try to anchor while the rest around him should try to sensibly accelerate after facing some balls.

Just tuned it. They are batting slow. But why? They have wickets in hand

Start was slow due to the horrors in the PP of previous two matches as they were trying to build a base. They were trying a bit here to accelerate before Imam getting out

Just when momentum was building a wicket falls .now will have to start everything from scratch again. Can't afford to lose Babar here.

Really good opportunity for Rizwan to create an impact here with decent base to start with

Lol there is no pressure for england. Series is already in the bag. They will come out all gun blazing to chase whatever target they will be given. Pakistan have to try to score atleast 320 to remain safe

Thought they would have let Saud come out at No. 4 after what he showed in the last game. If BA and MR bat until the 40th over, don’t see the point of Saud coming out at No. 5 unless he has another gear.

Apart from Maqsood or Hassan, none of them can accelerate. I will be surprised if they cross 300 which btw is bare minimum on this track.

No confidence clearly... team reeks of lack of confidence... this is what happens when you lose 99% of your matches against top 5 teams.

On top of that management doesnt understand how ti handle players. Misbah with his management degree is still useless.

I really want rizwan to score. He's much better than what his record in ODI'S suggests

True. Still others like Riz and Saud will have to try while Babar should anchor the innings as he is set so cant afford to lose him.

Babar and rizwan got the same ball and different result... babar is failing to put away bad balls, thats worrying, hes clearly playing for his 50 here first..

Definitely. Good intent from him so far and good opportunity to get his ODI record to get rollingbas well with base already set.

Babar has to rotate the strike better... its been years and these guys still fail to rotatw rhw strike consistently
