Even when they were throwing their wickets away I wasnt that furious But whenever they drop catches I feel like kicking the culprits on their butts..Playing with the emotions of everyone..

We still had a slender chance to stage a comeback into the match but the crap fielders just dont give a damn about it..
 
There should be another tea break. Our players came refreshed after it and took two wickets.

Who votes for at least 6 teas in a day's test match?

Can't remember if it was Cook or Strauss. Malik had to move forwards and try and snatch it before it hit the grass, it carried to him at gully but barely. It was a pretty difficult chance.
 
The only way to teach these kids a lesson is to drop anyone who drops a catch. Doesn't matter who it is, they get automatically dropped from the next match. We might be playing with a Galli XI by the time series is done but at least we wont be seeing the same sorry a$$ faces even after they drop easy catches. Unfortunately YK tried to instill discipline into these players and he was booted out. Pathetic, just pathetic!

We need a collapse and half of epic proportion to get back into this match.
 
Why is our fielding so poor?

I can only think of one reason. They can't be working that hard on their fielding. It seems that when they have a really bad day in the field they go back and put some hard work into their fielding and consequently look a little better in the next match. Then they get lazy again and stop working hard on the fielding. This cycle has been repeating itself ever since I can remember.
 
Kamran would have caught that, in fact he DID catch that last week.
 
Actually, he had to cover less ground than Kamran did.
 
Not even joking, when I saw that live I thought it was a replay of Trent Bridge right until the moment Haider dropped it :(

Completely Agreed...Dropped catches are so annoying...

If you cant drop them then inflict heavy fines upon them...Like 40,000 rs per drop..I see this as the only solution to this problem...They just dont care about the hard work the bowlers put in...
 
Anymore wicket keepers in the squad? If he gets dropped from next test then Farhat should surely get dropped, didnt he drop a easy slip catch? But does anyone really have the guts to take action against Farhat?
 
I dont know how many DROPMALS we have in the team. We are dropping catches left, right and center. Every match we uncover 3-4 dropmals.
 
Gul gets a taste of his own medicine. How can he stand there and criticize Haider when he dropped one himself?
 
How many have we dropped today?

The better question might be what's the drop count of each player?
 
It's stupid cause everything Zoni drops, Kami can probably catch, and whatever Kami drops, Zoni can probably catch too -_-

I think the reason is more mental than technical. Fielding requires a lot more concentration and mental toughness and these go down when you lose confidence. Unfortunately for Pakistan, they always lose confidence after they bat and they are always under pressure trying to get back in the game. This is why their fielding suffers. When they are winning, you will notice that their fielding is also better as they are more confident at that time. It is a vicious cycle. The more catches they drop, the worse their fielding will keep on getting.
 
Good work by Azhar and Umar on the boundary keeping them to two.

I am not saying he criticized Haider, I am saying he should, but can't. I agree our bowlers are all class acts as they dont criticize keepers and slip fielders after drops but they should, only then things will ever change. I remember Imran used to curse anyone out who dropped off his bowling, even his cousin Majid in first slip used to get cussed out by him.

This just keeps building the pressure put on bowlers because they now know that the only way they can get someone out is by an lbw or bold.
 
our bowlers should stop bowling & let the people who have dropped catches start bowling!

By dropping this we are simply ending this match! England with a lead of 180+

I heard some cricket experts saying on geo super recently that Pakistan has the golden chance here. They have 12 test matches to prepare for the WC 2011. Seeing our progress in them until now, and making somewhat accurate guesses as to the future results too, how many of you feel our team might not make it past the second round if they keep going at this rate?
 
Things looking ominous now...I feel a big hundred coming from KP after those costly drops...
 
One can easily argue that YK quitting after NZ ODIs has had a domino effect on this team. We were at least competitive against any team back then, since then we have taken huge steps backwards, at least in Tests and ODI formats.
 
Is this Pakistan team one of the dumbest international cricket teams to have graced the playing field?

dunno, usually in WCs our team tends to surprise but if we go on at this rate, we myt not make it into the 2nd round

Test match cricket in England is no way to judge how the ODI team will do in the World Cup. The batters for one will enjoy the slower,lower pitches and the warmer weather of Sri Lanka.

Unless we make some drastic changes either with the way we are practising or getting some better players altogether, I do think we won't make it past the second round. That is unless other teams fail like they did in this 20/20 world cup. We need a whole lot of luck from now on.

You're confusing Test Match with ODI, unless you're talking about a Test World Cup.

With these two performances it doesn't even look like we'll make it to the first round. At least that'll save some embarrassment for us fans.
