SA have won the toss and inserted England again !!

England currently 13 for 0.

Interestingly a debut for Pattinson who was born in Grimsby but is an Aussie really :D

Overcast. Windy.

Eng 20-0 off 7 overs.

Steyn getting a bit of movement

PATHETIC decision from Bowden.

Sorry, this standard of umpiring is just not good enough!

Another poor decision in this series....miles away from the bat.

Most unconvincing appeal you'll ever see!

Its Umpire Bowden this time!

26-1

Vaughan wants to play in the T20 game for his $500,000!!!

He's lucky to be in the test side!!!

Another flop

Big LBW appeal against KP!

CLOSE!

I think its smashing into leg

IT WAS SMASHING INTO LEG!!!

Another poor decision.

KP should have been OUT LBW.

And KP smashes the next ball into the crowd!

SIXER!

39-2

It's amazing how much more exciting cricket is when it's ball dominating bat...well, as I write that, Pietersen launches Steyn into the stands.

This is cricket.

I love it! Verbals from Steyn. Shots from KP. Poor umpiring.

And its raining hard!

40-2

I absolutely hate poor umpiring decisions. Look how Bowden's poor decision changed the entire match scenario. What even annoys me more when decisions go in favor of batsman, and the bowling side even after working hard doesn't get the wicket that they deserve :po: :pissed:

Wow ! KP going nuts. He shouldn't !! The situation demands him to play a long sensible innings. 1 more wicket and England will fall into a big deep hole.

England's trump card though will be Ian Bell in my opinion. The guy is a really good Test player.

He's playing the only way he knows how. Also a bit of a counter-attack where some quick runs are scored is often the tactic by quality batsmen in situations like these.

And STrauss edges one - caught at slip

57-3

OR HAS HE????

That cant be out.....he dropped it

NAUGHTY NAUGHTY!

A B DeVilliers claims one that was grounded.

WILL HE GET THE RASHID LATIF TREATMENT????

Jeez....that was on the ground for a good while.

Result - AB D drops Strauss.

Eventful morning here at Headingly

Damn it, I'm not getting it here in Kuwait

How fast is Steyn bowling? Has he hit one of the batsmen yet?

Late 80's, focussed mostly on pitching it up and extracting the early swing. Pitched one short to Pietersen who put him into the stands. Fabulous cricket.

Man, I can't wait for Freddie to come in to bat. I wish he scores some good runs for his team.

Kallis troubling Kevin here a bit. Swinging it out and getting the occasional one to hold its line, is the South African.

Top spell by Morkel.

Smith will be pleased by the SA bowling - stark contrast to 1st mornig at Lords which was pitiful.

Can anyone gimme link of live scores?

cricinfo?
By the way, I used to do ball-by-ball commentary in my spare time. Anybody know by any chance how one becomes a ball-by-ball commentator?

Ntini really looks half the bowler he used to be. Just not running in hard and hitting the bowling crease with the same purpose anymore. His pace is down, his movement off the pitch is less apparent, and he just isn't the spearhead that he used to be. The next few games are pretty big for him.

Fantastic on drive by Pietersen off Steyn. Treating him like a dibbly dobbler.

This is just fantastic batting by Pietersen. Taking everyone (bar Kallis) apart.

Pitched one up, Pietersen went for the booming drive and edged straight to Smith at first slip. Got overconfident there, Steyn gets his man after going for a few. England 106-4 with Ambrose walking in!

Ambrose out ct off Ntini
Eng 123-5 after 33.5 overs
Flintoff comes running in to bat

Ian Bell BOWLED by Kallis.

England 6 down.

What a shambles!

Preddie Plintoff slashes at a wide one - caught behind of Steyn.

177-7

Goodbye Charlie....Broad will go for it now

Broad 17 out ct in slips off Morkel
Eng 181-8 after 45.2 overs. RR is good
Last 10 ovs 50/3 RR 5.00

Panesar out ct in slips off Morkel. Morkel 4-40
Eng 186-9 after 48 overs
Tea delayed for test debutant Pattinson

Never heard of this Pattinson until about 3 hours ago.

How come he's ahead of all the other bowlers that have been on the verge?

Or is it a one-off selection for Headingley?

There was a thread about his inclusion for this Test.

Still havent heard of him. Thread or no thread.

31 for 0

Smith playing with few problems.

Really poor batting from England and the game's as good as gone. Pietersen came out and looked like God, but threw it away stupidly in trying to over-dominate as he often does. Likewise, Bell looked a million pounds but played a shot too many and deservedly stalked his way off to the pavilion. After that, you can't really say much - typical England. Clueless with the bat, innocuous with the ball, weary looking in the field. They look a very downbeat team indeed.

So who said pace is nothing? Who said that 90 mph Steyn and 90 mph Morkel would do nothing on this tour? If only Pakistan had pace in its bowling attack.

some action going on at some stand. I hear noises. Something with stewards and cups

Smith 44 ct in slips by Strauss off Flintoff
SA 69-2 after 20.5 overs - trails by 134 runs
