A) These are drastic conditions to bat, sky commentators agree and so do all experts. So its far from an excuse.

B) You know what real excuse would have been? When Pujara got run out...the rain came pouring in. But the ground staff took their own time to bring the covers. Imagine the condition of the pitch now?? But maybe thats my imagination and now I am not making it as an excuse.

Indian test team is truly rubbish. Home bullying is the reason tests are dying. Only rain can prevent a whitewash.

India might get away with a draw in this Test thanks to the weather. They are too rubbish to take advantage of this though :shh

Raining heavily now...no more game today hopefully. Also with rain due sunday and monday, this test will be a draw. :)

He would have been a permanent fixture by now in most other inferior teams! (I am sure England will have this Curran guy touring India next time and will witness what will happen) There is a reason why this is a No.1 team, but at the same time it has the worst management & captain! This team can dominate more than any other team at home & compete more than any other team outside, unfortunately this is not enough to call as No.1 & I agree on that without any excuse!

I think its high time people stop blaming the selectors and management .
Maybe they just aren't good enough to win away from home , maybe ?
Not every team can and India look pretty average tbh.

So, does this give India some breathing space. I do not think so since next test match is in Trent Bridge and the ball swings over there. Anderson is a different beast in those conditions.

Considering India's batting line up I wouldn't put it past England to dismiss India twice in two days. We might still have a result in this test.

Day 3 will be mostly sunny and there is only light rain on Day 4 and Day 5. Doesn't sound good for minnow eleven :))

Root drops Rahane. These two teams might set a record for most dropped catches by the end of this series

Holding droning on and on about 'his time'.

Somebody ask him to give it a rest already.

Kohli playing Woakes as an easy bowler. Should respect him like Andy as he is bowling with the slope and getting more movement. Lovely battle.

Batting should get easy from here on as bowl is old and nothing in pitch.

This Toss couldn't have gone worse for IND - probably, they'll finish 5/6 down by Day 2 and against face the fresh English pacers on a morning wicket. Then Poms have the chance to bat for 3-4 sessions under Sun.

Woakes absolutely nailed Kohli there. Superb spell of bowling against him. Thoroughly deserved.

And much credit also goes to Anderson for giving Kohli a thorough work out. After some time for concentrating so long, you get mentally exhausted and I guess Kohli felt a tad relaxed having seen off Anderson.

Always maintained that Woakes was England’s best new-ball bowler in white-ball cricket.

Quickly proving his worth in Test cricket now.

Shame he’s almost 30.

Bowling average of 62 in tests outside England, over 13 test matches.

Oh man. How did that miss the stumps?! Look at TheJoke’s feet and bat positions there. A club cricketer is representing India :))

Game over for India. Congrats Bhaag Viru and Robert. After office I came running to Lords...bought a ticket...went in and Kohli gone :sanga

Everyone got wrecked in Australia but I’m talking about the new ball specifically.

He gets tremendous shape (just enough) with a consistent line and length.

It’s beautiful to watch and Shami is another one.

Its not just the pitch, its about the clouds too.

Also, Did you not watch the last Test ?
The duke ball actually started swinging more after the first 20-30 overs.

The sun is out. Curran isn't getting that much swing too. Woakes got more movement than Andy due to using crease. Last match when clouds came it was swinging more as u said but rit now sun is out.

Guys we were told that this Indian team will humiliate England and perform much better than a certain team whose name starts with a 'P' and ends with a 'N'

What a pattern.

Woakes gets an edge, Butler drops it.

Next ball, Butler grabs it.

Pandya is as useless as it comes with bat. With ball he is nothing better than Part timer and now we are just playing with 2 pacers in england..

He struggles away from home but is quality in England.

Keeping him fit is key if England want a shot at WC19.

I would bowl him like Asif used to.

7-8 overs up front with the new ball and the rest during overs 30-40.

Both Jimmy & Woakes using Lord's slope brilliantly. From Nursery end, on such days swing bowlers can run through any side.

It wasn’t long ago when England had a fine catching unit.

Collingwood, Strauss, Swann, etc.
