England needs something special from KP and the InFridable to puul off this series. I would love to see that happen. :)
how sweet isn't it to see your sweet enemy loose ??? ;-)

Aaah ... Vengeance, thy name is human

Flintoff is giving me an impression of the "storm about to arrive" ... calm and quiet and then just launch himself in the PPs

Oh well.....everything got screwed up with the streams....also now I am running around 10 mts behind in the scores

No it is not the enemy friendship thing. I have a lots of good Indian buddies here in Hong Kong. But after India losses a match the way they go in to hiding and do not show up for days is hilarious :16:
And then how I have to pull them out of their match boxes Just love the kick of it. :)) :)) :))

10 overs of power play remain, 5 taken now.....means fireworks im staying

44444444444444444444444444444 freedie :11:

poor shot selection by kp.....top edges the half pull/sweep simple catch for yuvi

believe me --- nobody in the south india likes dada ... they are all Dravid fans or Tendu fans :D (meself a southie)

You are wrong here mate. Ganguly's support runs throughout the country. Just that its more (or rather fanatical) in Bengal. If India starts collapsing, I wouldn't be surprised to hear "bring Dada back" anywhere in the country.

I think Flintoff prefers to come after 35 or 40 overs where he can just hit the ball hard.

Oh No...Flintoff gone....I wanted so badly to see if India was good enough to score a really big second innings total :(

even i was hoping eng wud get atleast 300! :(

Well.....also I wanted Freddy to do well. He is one of the tough guys who isnt obnoxious and you can feel him giving his all. There wont be a sniff of doubt about his commitment in a million years. But looks like he is out of luck.

Solanki looks a good player of spin ... 2 smashing drives down the ground for four off yuvi

morning frm karachi...actually its 11 AM so mid morning everyone :11:

eng 180/6... bad going...freeddy should hav fielded first.... i think India will take the series 7-0

WOW... Yuvraj's figures

Yuvraj Singh 7 1 27 2 3.85

this pitch is sooo...spinny tat even dhoni can take wickets...really & they blame us for bad pitches

blackwell is a freaking joke. he is a known big hitter and he is playing like a lump of fat. hit the ball already aloo

well i'll give 2 things to india today.....

they hav fieldeed superbly today...saved atleast 30 odd more runs & taken 2 stunning catches....

Dravid's use of powerplay has also been very effective

37.6 Powar to Jones, 1 run, turning onto middle and leg, Jones stays back and works it away through midwicket for yet another single :31:

dunno why Cricinfo someitmes reads like they are really wat u call it 'Bayzaar' on commenting.... other than that of India

loooks like a no 11 bat to me....the bighitter reputation is really puzzling!

Gojo really needs to push the singles now. He needs to be there at the end so we can get a half decent score. I reckon we'll get 240 (i hope).

Shouldnt block anymore....around 8 or 9 big hits to the fence will get a good score....if they block they are going to get out anyway...batty gone now

What a collapse by England.

They were going great guns with Pietersen and Colly at the crease.

Well bowled India!

India georging on England C team what a shame :91::91::91::91::91:

Senseless comment that mate!!!! What should have India done....you guys are without your best players so we will give you a handicap here for free!!!

By the way, it would have been the England C team if both A and B teams were available...currently this is the English ONLY team. :)

Not that they have done all that bad....this might well turn out to be a competitive score...who knows

Eng 237/AO

really bad performance...but again the pitch is all spin & slow bowling...if england can bang heads together they might restrict India with some good slow bowling

IMO, its a sporting wicket today. Batsmen will find it good because wicket has ok bounce and ball is nicely coming onto the bat. Good fast bowlers will find it good because it has some bounce in it. And spinners will find it good because ball is spinning "bouncily". But this is bad news for Indian batsmen. Read on why.

Today, not only spinners but good fast bowlers will could also have a good day. In the earlier pitches for the first three ODIs, India managed to survive fast bowlers because the pitches didn't bounce at all. Even when Freddie et al were banging the ball in, the ball was not rising. In short, the biggest weapon of English fast bowlers, fast and rising short deliveries, was nullified. Pitches were spinner's paradise but the ball was keeping low.

But today, its different. Even though the pitch is spinning, its "bouncy" spin as opposed to "low" spin earlier. Parallels can be drawn to 3rd day Mumbai test match pitch where the ball had both bounce and spin. If England score more than 240 today, Indian batsmen are gonna have it tough as English fast bowlers are gonna love bowling on this pitch today, not because its a fast bowler's paradise, but because the opponent is India, whose batsmen can't play genuine fast rising deliveries.

One difference being that England cant pitch it too short here, since rules are stricter in ODI. Sincerely, I believe that apart from Sehwag it would benefit any other batsmen who manages to get into double figures. I know Yuvi , Pathan and Dravid prefer higher bounce as the former two love driving on the up. Dunno about Raina but going by the way he played with SA and Pak he might do well if he gets in. Dhoni, well thats a question, Technically for a player like Dhoni, higher (but not too high) bounce is like an adrenaline shot. Lets see.

Yups....as I thought....bounce helping batting a bit.....England have bowled a few rubbish balls as well....and Sehwag again risking run out trying to get away from Hoggy :)

Hari Harran being merciless on Eng bowling - a man with a mission.

Eng must be wishing their mate Darryl Hair was officiating:)

Well, when I made that assessment above about Indian batting, it was with respect to Indian top order only. I agree Dravid, Yuvraj don't mind short pitch bowling. Pathan may do OK but I don't consider him top order batsman. Dhoni and Sehwag will have most serious problems.

Problems?

This game is over.

Ind at home - in the heat - Eng away, struggling for any form; they dont want to be there - its too hot, and they have Delhi-belly!

I don't think its over yet. A few wickets and England are back in the game. And I think this English team has got character. The way they handled Mumbai heat and won the test match shows they can play in any conditions. So I don't think English are going to get bogged down by heat today.

Well Sehwag gets sucked into Blackwell's 1st over (again).

54-1

India is going to win this one, it seems like it anyway.

I just hope that Pathan gets a 50 to his name.

Somebody outta check out Relience's connections....Sehwag ki Maa ka phone aata hi nahin hai :)

naz reckons this indian team is full of allrounders --- pathan, yuvi, sachin, and adds sehwag can become an allrounder if he makes some runs ... :)))

237 was never going to be quite enough runs

India should win this comfortably

Thats totally hit the nail on the head

:))) :))) :)))

I didnt like Pathan being sent up the order for this match. Dravid should give his regular top order some batting practice....

It seems so surprising how India bat in ODIs without seeming to even try to force the pace, yet they score at a rapid clip. It is rather uncanny, considering how they suck in test matches. It must be a question of concentration rather than ability. The concentration to bat long periods.

The appeal for caught behind was denied wrongly by Hariharan. There was a clear bottom edge. Hariharan gets another crucial one wrong

Surprise surprise, Mr. Hariharan and siding with India...No kidding maaan :21:

I guess Hoggy was also siding India. Because he didn't appeal at all and was making Prior look like a fool.

This is what happens when someone is afraid of fast bowling. He saw Blackwell, gave a sigh of relief, thanked Flintoff for being generous, and thought "its now or never; let's hit him out".

enjoying India's record breaking spree?

but but i only thought world cup matches mattered and these are only masala ODI's?? doesnt your records mean diddly squat then(to your fans)?? or do they now admit that ODI's do matter??

indians won by 4 wickets, 3 overs to go,

4-0

Freddie pick of the bowlers.

yes, we are now the most successful team chasing in consecutive matches...

1 Against NZ
1 Againt ZIM
5 Against SL
2 Against SAF
4 Againt PAK
2 Againt ENG

The Great Khan, I never said that only WC matter. Cricket is cricket, I don't distinguish much between the two although Test Cricket is surely more important.

Nothing matters, Teenda is not playing.

Yuvi, Sachin, Sehwag, Pathan, all can bat and bowl. Even at a slow start, India can easily go into slow or rapid mode any time, even at a loss of a few wickets.

Load of balls. Pietersen is far too good for this one day side. He is the only thing that makes watching these joke performances worth it.

This is getting too predictable now, series is already over. Let see if England could avoid clean sweep.

Hopefully we can make the final scoreline look more respectable with India resting their best players. We've got to win one sooner or later, surely.

India just needs one more win to break thier own record of the most straight odi wins, I think England will win the next two games, but hopefully India breaks thier own record.

Pieterson is a very good odi batsmen, collingwood is a good match-winner, that can build repair the innings and can score quickly when needed, Jones can score the occasional 30 down the order, that game in the natwest series final in 2005 tested him and he succeded.
Flitnoff is the best allrounder currently, England just needs to fix thier batting collapses and need some decent spinners, and players who can perform consistantly.
