The disease of the tuk tuk brigade has affected a positive player like Root as well.

This is why Southee and Wagner were picked ahead of Bracewell.

Chuckers may pass their isolated test, but there is no monitoring going on in-game.

Please don't be bitter over the fact that the guy we discarded into the trash can has been your biggest spin hope in years and the other one (Peterson) is a homeless man's Hafeez at best.

The likes of him & Botha don't wear long sleeves for nothing.

He wears long sleeves because he likes to.

The ICC should be brave enough to stop him from doing so.

Having said that, I have already stated a billion times that IMO the best spinner in the world is Swann.

Who needs a spinner when mediocre batsmen are getting bundled out for less than 50. And the same homeless man's Hafeez contributed with both bat and ball to get a MOTM against your lot. If Hafeez was that great, then why didn't he do it?

C'mon Swanny lad! A quickfire 40 would go nicely here..

Till now, you very aggressively defending England's approach that how it has prevented a collapse and would allow England to score big :yk

If you wan't a quickfire 40, watch the IPL.

Welcome to test cricket :misbah

#ownage

Southee will turn out to be one to the best bowlers NZ has produced soon enough.

Those deliveries of his! Magnificent. Even those wide yorkers of his in T20s are effective. England's RR is 2!!

Don't count chickens before they hatch.

We will see how the brilliant Steyn and Philtrundler fare in UAE in a few months time.

You will badly need a quality spinner when your fearsome pace attack will trundle there.

UAE pitches are better now compared to 2010 so your excuse for Steyn work there.

Now they are much more result orientated.

Lets see how the number one test team does because if my memory serves me right, the last time a number one team toured us was royally owned :ajmal

C'mon Swanny lad! A quickfire 40 would go nicely here..

swann not good enough to tie ajmals shoe laces, as for the current mATCH KIWIS HAVE EXPOSED englands soft under belly, as for broad surely this muppet must b sleeping with selectors cause this guy is a hack

Greame"Dangerous"Swann gone.
England 201/8 Wagner gets his Third.

Where the heck is Marshland?

Still hasn't recovered from the ownage at the hands of England in the test series in India few months back.

Has hurt his pride badly :(

hasn't been the same since.

has anyone noticed, whenever malakain starts trolling, england starts losing. (Pak, Nz in march)

Where are the Test cricket is so boring brigade, still recovering from 3 idiots?.....

So england in a massive hole now due to plodding along and wickets have fallen in clusters meaning the scoreboard hasnt advanced much, ive watched some pathetic england batting performances before and this is right up there with the worst! The pitch is pretty good and bowling is honest at best.

England need to buck there ideas up, i hope the kiwis come out and atleast bat with more postivity then this!

Loving the Kiwi, Saffers, England and Pakistani banter on this thread!

Its all in good humour! :)

Bairstow needs to come out and play some shots after lunch, no point just wasting overs and time, england need some sort of lift or momentum.

Hope Rutherford stays in for a while when kiwis bat so we see some positive intent in todays play..

Owning English top order = Piece of cake :D

Will be vary of a Prior rearguard in the 2nd dig though.

Slow wicket, total overcast, floodlights on at noon. Back in the day the batters would have taken the offer of the light.

So I'll wait to see how NZ bat before castigating this England batting effort.

Not sure if its England, or Bangladesh batting? (Wait, we would score more runs in 130 overs by edges and misfielding alone)

Actually I think we already have a match winning total. If we're struggling to score runs, these kiwis won't have a clue.

^^

:)) Cause that's what happened in NZ. BTW, 9 down. Stay a little while Malakian. Have a cuppa coffee wontcha?

leatherface my good man! I'm at work so have to pop out the office occasionally. I'm not going anywhere though, well until 4, then I'm going home!

Nice innings from Bairstow so far, yet another talented young batsman playing for England. May as well start hitting a few though, Jimmy won't last long.

Brilliant Bowling from Newzealand.
Did the work and got the rewards.
Good performance by Southee in particular, excellent bowling by him.
England 232 all out, a good batting performance by the NZ Batsmen here and they'll be favorites.

With KP they could probably have got 300 or atleast 275. If he hangs around, runs flow. Even Prior failed thankfully today :D

He's ranked higher than any Pakistani fast bowler. If Broad is a hack, Pakistan must be utterly awful :))) :)))

Yes, it looks like it.

Don't be silly, only idiots believe in that stuff.

England to knock over NZ for roughly 150.

And England will pay the price for not being aggressive enough. If they don't bowl well early in inning of NZ, they will be chasing the tail.

Too high. Aim a little lower. Our comedic performance at South Africa is likely to be overshadowed by the performance here.

If England bowl OK in these conditions, NZ will struggle. It will be hard to hit boundaries unless England bowl badly.

One way their batters could improve on ours is by running quick singles.

I nip out the office for a minute, come back, and see that Jimmy has already dismissed NZ's danger batsman. Too easy.

Mccullum is the biggest minnow basher in history and England is playing like one so calm down, he might take you for a ride.

Mccullum is scared of us. That's why he insisted on flat pitches when we toured NZ & hides down the order.

300 wickets for Jimmy. He's going to demolish NZ here. What a bowler, what a man!

And 300 for Jimmy! Fourth Englishman to do it - just Trueman, Willis, and Botham ahead of him. He should pass Trueman by the end of this match, and Willis by the end of the summer.

Come on Kane, time to show some fight.

Pity we don't have Ryder somewhere in the middle order, would have loved the Lord's luncheon service too while he battled away.

230 isn't far, even from 22/2. After the initial swing goes away, much of the Poms' attack turns into trundler 101, barring Finn who can crank it up from time to time.

Other than Anderson the English pace attack is very ordinary.

Anderson is nothing flash either as we've deliberated on this forum numerous times, it's just that he's the best in the team (not hard to do when your compatriots are Broad, Bresnan, Onions) so he looks good in comparison, in what is basically a workmanlike attack at best.

Williamson and Taylor making it look easy, if these two put on a 100+ partnership we could have a lead of 100-150.

Owned India & Australia in their backyard, give me a shout when your bowling attack manages that.

And how good would it be if we can hold the Poms off in their own territory, especially after all they've written about us this past half year?

LOLOLOl Southee and Martin have ran through India.... and Bracewell ran through Australia...
