I think, your examples are not appropriate - Fahim doesn't make in a 6+4 combination. I put it other way - 214/4 with 70 overs old ball - instead of Captain, Fakhar comes to bat .......
Shadab is there for his spin, not batting; he won't have been there had Yasir been fit - won't be there in near future either if PAK goes with 1 spinner strategy.

Dropped !
What is going on![]()
This Pak team is underrated.
Even so, he's done well enough for where he's batting. It's too soon to say he's a better version of Shahid Afridi, but he's fulfilling his role well. He's batted sensibly and if you consider it, him and Faheem saw off the second new ball in devastating fashion.
Cook has become Hafeez.
Spineless performance by England. Poor batting, poor bowling and their shoulders have dropped in the field.
They are not going anywhere in Test cricket, and their Test giants are a dying breed.
It appears that they are directing all their resources to LOI cricket at this point. This is comfortably the worst English Test team I have seen since the late 90’s.
Great opportunity for Faheem and Shadab to score a century at Lords![]()

Nasser is one of the best cricket minds of the game; probably he is earning much more from Sky, otherwise, he was destined to be a Woolmerisque Coach. Athers is a great batting technician, with a Cambridge blue (means he can express with right words), but not bold enough to be a coach.

When Pakistan do well England are terrible mediocre and a dying breed.
Before that they were a “world class team in home conditions”
300+ score in early May conditions in England.
What a fluke guys! No hope for this team![]()

What is the update on Babar Azam?
Is he out of this match and the series?
Anyone with an update?
Nasser and Atherton are indeed brilliant to listen. Sky has the best cricket coverage in the world. Another good thing being that both Nasser and Athers love Pakistan cricket in general.
By the way England could really use someone like Nasser as a strategist.
No babar Azam
Nothing was behind the line there
Ashraf did his job.
Now we need to keep ticking along to 350.
Don’t think appointing Nasser etc. will make a difference. England are done in Test cricket, and they have successfully transitioned to LOIs now.
They won’t produce the likes of Cook, Anderson, Broad, Trott, Swann etc. anymore.
Faheem has really showed his worth at this level. Took a crucial wicket at crucial time and now some really match changing runs like he did against Ireland as well. Kudos to Shaddy as well.

NO ball?
Amir really has regressed in his batting since his comeback.
Looks scared of the ball.
That won't happen with Strauss in charge - Nass is too stubborn, proud and uncompromising. Retired on his 99th Test!!!!
My fear is, next time PAK tours, Cook might be in charge as a Coach - he fits ECB's bill perfectly
In fact, PCB should rope him as a Director Cricket even keeping Sky job.
