So big hundreds for the taking for Abid Ali and Imran Butt and many others.

An interesting days play (or a boring one, based on your point of view) ahead.

Expecting Pakistan to bat big and at a good pace. All batsmen should make good use of this opportunity.

Bat all day, get to approx 450.

Then add 50 more tomorrow and declare. Pak should absolutely pummel them and this is the chance to do it. One way to banish the ghosts of 2013 tour.

Comms, bless their souls, trying to make this match interesting with talk of how Zimbabwe can get back into this game etc

6 runs in six overs. Seeing off the opening spells of richard akram and blessing garner.

These two are treating the Zimbabweans bowlers as Holding and Marshall.

These 2 seem like they can hold a bat... put em in the pak odi middle order !

Good solid start... exactly what is required. Poor and mentally weak test cricketers like misbah and babar always get out after break..

M not watching this game now. Becoz even if one of these two gets out next in is the most boring batsman in history of the game azhar ali

Am happy one selfish guy gone. Should be last test for this Abid Ali.

That has to be the most silliest dismissal ever..

Nothing bowling.
Maybe first eleven club level if you're being generous...
All they had to do was to bowl it two inches outside of off stump and these guys dug themselves into a whole.

Check the shot he got out where are the feet and where is the bat...will never succeed

Azhar already looks like a dasher in comparison and he's only faced three balls is renowned for being slow

one word for abid ali ---- abs junk ... no wonder Micky never got him in the team ... shameful batting

believe it or not this guy think's that he scored some most important runs for pakistan first by taking off the helmet and now after getting out with no foot work whatsoever he was showing his bat to the gallery :facepalm
Only pathetic Misbah can select these top 3

These two openers will definitely struggle big time against any semi decent bowling line-up. Now what will happen is they will get more chances in a few test series and will only be discarded after failing in those series.

This Zimbabwe series came off as a lifesaver for these Batsmen.

Imran Butt gets to 50, no taking off helmet or sajda.

Maybe he wants to get to a 100.

Want to sleep but don't want to miss Babar's batting. There should be an alert message for when he comes out to bat.

I am amazed that people are actually watching this match live. There is nothing worse than two awfully mediocre sides playing Test cricket. The worst advert possible for cricket.

If you want to make sure that cricket doesn’t attract new audiences, make them watch this series.

Babar has played 32 Tests in his career and has only 1 century outside Asia, and then our fans pretend that he is the world’s greatest batsman. :91:

Oh well, there is always Zimbabwe to help our players boost their underwhelming records.

Hopefully he will have 3 by the end of this series.

I grew up watching Test cricket and it will remain the best format by far. Yesterday was a good day to watch. Today less so but meh, Zimbabwe bowled better as well.

You should stick to 20/20 tamasha, it reflects your attention span perfectly. Test cricket is not your field.

What you doing here then?

I have a special kind of respect for all those guys who are doing ball by ball commentary on this match on cricket websites.

Pakistan were 103/0 coming into this day and have played at less than 2 rpo. Incredible. Talk about not asserting your position. Truly remarkable.

If you grew up watching this version of Pakistan and this version of Zimbabwe playing Test cricket, you would have never become a fan of cricket in the first place.

Test cricket is still the best format of the game but only when it is played between two quality sides on sporting pitches.

If you think watching Abid, Butt, Nauman, Sajid, Faheem, Shumba, Kaia, Chisoro, Kasuza battle each other in Test cricket is better than watching an ODI or a T20I between two world class sides, you are clearly deluded.

You are such a weirdo, who would waste their time trolling like this ? :))

Two absolutely rubbish Test series going on at the moment - Pakistan vs Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh.

Deluded fans will tell you that this is the highest form of cricket and better quality than white ball cricket between world class teams and IPL. :91:

This is what is wrong with Test cricket - the disparity between the series between top sides and weak sides is huge.

Ashes, India vs Australia Tests, India vs England Tests is certainly the highest form of cricket, but Test cricket between teams like Pakistan, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh etc. is the lowest form of cricket.

ICC should ban Abid, Imran and Azhar for a match or two for playing such minnow level cricket. I can't even call it playing cricket. They're just doing net session

It's a crime playing at this rate against this Zimbabwe team

Babar should drop them for acting like they're facing the trio of Wasim, Waqar and Shoaib

Seriously though what is this intent? They should've targeted a lead by the end of the session. Extremely underwhelming.

I was watching it in 1992, you was probably not even born then.

Like I said stick to 20/20 circus Tamasha, a form of cricket that is totally forgotten the next day and is hardly talked about because it doesn’t linger in the memory, unlike the longer formats especially Test cricket - Did you see yesterday’s Yorkers ? They stay in the memory, even against a mediocre side like Zimbabwe.

You are only crying because it’s not competitive like you was hoping it would be. Don’t worry a repeat of 2013 is not happening this time.

Mamoon the more I read your post the more I hate my wife , just don't let me divorce her because she has exactly Brain like yours, extremely negative about everything in this world , have some pity on her will you?

This is not Test match cricket. It is an insult to Test cricket.

It is basically a club level match because most of the players on show, except for 4-5 on the Pakistan side and perhaps B. Taylor, are basically club level cricketers.

The only reason this match has Test status is because both teams are Test playing nations, otherwise the quality of cricket on display is not Test level.

You started watching in 1992 and I started watching in 1997-98. You have seen enough Test cricket over the years and you still see enough Test cricket between proper sides to realize this is far from Test match quality and probably the lowest form of cricket that you can see today at the international level.

If you think this is better and higher standard of cricket than watching white ball cricket between two top teams, you are either in denial or have a very funny taste in cricket.

I would hope it is the former because there is no cure for the latter.

Just checked the scorecard for the first time. Pakistan playing slower than Zimbabwe. Looks like our batsmen are scared of getting out rather than feasting on free runs. Our standards have dropped quite a bit.

59 runs in 32 overs vs literally a club level team.

Fans need to stop the chest thumping, and accept we are barely in the top 6. Holding on to a shoe string...

Meek mentality is clearly on show, you can tell bith openers were playing for their spots, abid shouldve never been picked again. This guy knows how bad he is and is celebrating 50s like he scored a hundred vs Aus..

Better to have sent an un 23 team they wouldve shown more heart.

Zimbabwe must be totally demoralised. This is what Test cricket is about, when you get on top you don’t give your opposition an inch.
They bowled much better than yesterday evening but got little reward - time for Pak to cash in the last 2 sesssions as their bowlers will be tired.

Very dominant performance by Pakistan. Zimbabwe would lose by an innings here looks like.

Come one man, if you don't like it then don't watch it. If someone is watching it, isn't it their choice ?

Everyone knows Pakistan is a rubbish cricketing team nowadays and it is people's choice to watch this match or not.

Like no one is forcing you to watch it you should also refrain from attacking people for choosing what they like.

I think they will go in their shell now and try get a lead off 100 zimbos will bat better second innings too

Thats one weird technique by faddy...how does he get away with that surely puts chanderpaul to shame

Zimbabwe messed up a little in their selection yesterday when they didn't pick Jongwe who ran through them in the T20's.

He was relishing the challenge as well so would have kept him pumping.

Pakistan's run rate which was already slow now will get even more slower after losing 2 wickets in 2 balls.

As i said it was boring before expect run rate to go negative with the couple of wickets

Babar would feel gutted for that golden duck but its important learning process. People learn from embarrassments and I hope Babar is learning this quick.

Captain catastrophic fails again... he needs to be relieved of his duties. Not good enough at test level or 20/20... decent odi player though...

This Butt guy can be a gem for pak... saves loads of runs by catching at slip, if he can score 30 odd would be a good addition.
