Federal Areas [351/5] beat Khyber Pakhtunkhwa [326] by 25 runs in the Pakistan One Day Cup

Bowling a spinner against Sohail Khan and that too the last over of the match, big mistake.
 
I want KPK to give chase and overhaul this target or fall just short, and not like typically Pakistani sides that get shot out for 150 when chasing anything over 290.
 
Good cameo by Sohail Khan, can take the No.8 spot in seam friendly conditions as he is a good lower order power hitter.

He was drafted like 5/7 years late. Fitness is not there, although has right attitude and personality that is lacking in Misbah's era, not to mention uses his brain well while bowling!!

He should have been in the LOI squad in place of Wahab.

He doesn't have the fitness for tests though.
 
Wait a minute, why a part time spinner was bowling last over, when Sami had 5 left, Imran Khan and 2/3 left, this is very fishy stuff?? - Who in the world does that, Captain (Rizwan) has played quite a few international matches, either he does not have any brain or there is something fishy :facepalm:
 
I assume Imran Butt and Israrullah will open for KP. Chasing a high score and Pakistan need an opener, one of those two could get a quick 100. Imran Butt is slow so got more hope from Israrullah who is aggressive and could replace Sharjeel with some big scores in this tournament

He does not have pace either for LOI, although in western conditions he can be tried, next CT is in England. He takes wickets, swings the new ball and bowls well in death. I agree he has to be in the squad. With his hitting ability, its even more important.

Pakistan dilemma is that we don't have 145+ bowler, which is also a must in any lineup, to make your attack world class. Somebody has to take that role of really fast bowler to keep batsmen on back foot and in-check...

Only international cricket will mean that they'll start looking after grounds again?

Isn't what being played now cricket?

What crime have these players done to get such poor grounds?
 
Hassan Talat has been send way down the order, he should be one or two down. He is wasted at no 6. Even in domestic its hard to give youngsters chance because national team TTFs are hogging any serious domestic tournament too, this is really frustrating, Hafeez say kaisay Jaan Chotay ghee :facepalm:

The awkward moment when Ifti chacha is batting one-down for a batting line that comprises Malik, Adil Amin and Rizwan.
 
Other team's mentality is to get ahead of the runrate when the field is up and the ball is hard and then go into cruise control for the rest of the innings.

Pakistani mentality is to save wickets until the 40th over while scoring 4 rpo and then in the last 10 try and get 100-150.


Obviously we all know which strategy works and which strategy flounders 99 times out of 100.
 
Imran Butt is another one from the Misbah school of batting. Playing at 70SR while chasing a stiff target and after having played 50 balls most of which were in the powerplays. Beautiful :14:
 
Did say Imran Butt is a slow scorer, maybe good for tests but don't think he's ODI player

both him and imam are quite rubbish. will have great averages but poor strike rates.
 
Rizwan playing well, found a stream (albeit low quality). he started his career of very well. Such a shame he was pathetic in Australia, Sarfraz' mother being ill meant Rizwan got a chance as keeper with no pressure of being replaced as keeper but looked like a tail ender. Not sure he should be picked for CT though

21 is his official age , should be around 23 ,24. Bat speed is poor , poor judge of length against fast bowlers ; in short lacks natural talent.

He won't be picked for the CT, however, Rizwan is primarily a top order batsman who bats at 3 or 4 for KPK or Peshawar. In the national side he is made to bat at 7 or below.

Unfortunately for him we have better batsman than him for the top order and he has shown that he is not good enough for the lower order.

Not watching the match, only following it on cricinfo. Who went over the top in their celebration and how?


If it is Imran Butt then it only just confirms that he was playing slow so that he could score his Shehzad-esque fifty.

That is the mentality of 90% of our top order batsmen. Imam-ul Haq is another one from the same mould.

yes exactly he was pathetic in Australia batting at the death. He can bat at 3 or 4 but he will have to wait until the likes of Hafeez and Malik are gone until he can bat up the order. We still have the likes of Azam, Sohail etc who can bat there in the mean time who are superior to Rizwan
 
If Imran Khan was our captain (or captain of KPK) this would be the last match Imran Butt would have played in his career.
 
Gets out after scoring 60 odd of 90 balls at 76 SR. Ladies and gentleman we have found Shehzad 2.0
 
Malik schooling Ehsan here. Needs to bowl more straighter to him.
 
Who is this Gul Nabi? Playing well here, apparantly only 20.
