Talat Hussain on BBC saying that IK seemed very confused and was all over the place, wanting to emulate Medina, China and the West which are totally different ideologies. That he has promised to remove corruption in 90 days during the campaign and other high claims. Very anti IK, at least we know where BBC stand now.

Talat also said that IKs speech like the 92 WC speech was all about himself.

Its a trick BBC uses. They use trash like Hussain and Murtaza Shah from Geo, then back up their nonsense articles with ''but sources from Pakistan say...'' to give their drivel legitimacy which sadly the average English person will take at face value.

what the average English person thinks will mean diddly aquat coz of brexit..the govt needs friends and they will come towards imran for some deals..inevitable..

A mostly negative reception by Western and Indian media so far.

Western media (NY Times, BBC etc.) are happy to use viewpoints and articles from the likes of Geo's Talat Hussain, Murtaza Shah, Salman Masood who are too willing to highlight anything negative about him while mostly ignoring any other points of view.

Indian media such as Times Now are hyperventilating and panicking, God knows why. They have #PakVotesForTerror on the screen...

IK even mentioned the Indian media in his speech, complaining that they have portrayed him as a Bollywood villain.

It'll be interesting too see how this develops during his tenure. CNN, BBC etc. were showing his speech live.

Look guys! Foreign media did not want IK to win. They will do everything to undermine his views now that he has.

As my friend cricketjoshila says: "I don't care"

I think i’m going to write one letter and email it to most of the press and news channels...

I would suggest others do it to.
It’s an injustice and I hate to quote Donald trump of all people, but it’s “Fake News”

This coverage reminds me of what we saw with Mohammed Morsi in Egypt and in the end he was overthrown on the orders of Saudi Arabia. Not a word on the coup by Sisi, you hardly see an article on Egypt anymore. Western Powers and others dont democracy, they want people that will do as they are told.

That is my biggest fear now..
The fact that the media has started negatively does not bode well...

That’s why I think everyone should speak out on this.

But where Morsi had no one to speak for him, IK himself is an international icon and he has us guys, that will support him as long as he is sincere, which i am sure he will be.

As my friend cricketjoshila says: "I don't care"

Well Pakistanis like all sovereign nations have the right to elect their leader. Its their and their right only. What anyone else thinks about that person is immaterial. Other countries are free to take their steps as the deem fit.

It has largely been negative but we shouldn't pay attention to the opinions of gosipping aunties who always bad mouth and wish the worst for you.

As my friend cricketjoshila says: "I don't care"

But you should, international perception is very important right now, especially as IK mentioned one were to attract foreign investors. This I don't care attitude is dandy if you have a thriving economy but at the moment Pakistan can do with all the help it can get.

People should stop getting so big headed just because IK has won, the struggle has just started.

Obvious dishonest reporting. Don't see what he is getting at when Imran Khan gave specific reasons eloberating what he meant with Medina as his role model and why he wants China's guidance.

Medina as a role model to implement a system of justice which doesn't differentiate between the privileged and the poor.

Chima's guidance to help solve the increasing poverty issue since they have had successful experience in the past.

Constructive criticism is always good but this is just fact twisting.

Thing is he did not have ONE good thing to say about the whole speech which is being lauded by everyone else neither did the host bother to ask him about anything positive, sounded like someone had just informed her about the existence of Pakistan a couple of minutes ago. It was all pre set up and was just to give lip service to "journalism".

Described the situation perfectly in a few words.

The foreign media doesn't know sht about Imran Khan, they think he's Pakistan's Trump when in reality Khan is a respectful guy that has never said anything even remotely racist or xenophobic. They call him "Taliban Khan" just cause he thought if alternatives of handling the Taliban through peace talks and he's been against the Taliban for the past 4-5 years yet the these biased journalists leave that out. Also Imran Khans stance on the Taliban, military operations in the tribal areas and drone strikes were EXACTLY the same as this Manzoor Pashteen guy who the global media love.

I see afghan nationalists from Pakistan hating on Imran Khan but worship this sketchy Manzoor Pashteen character.

They are against him because he does not have slave mentality. He is nobody's stooge like some of the previous rotten politicians.

I mean, there's plenty to criticize him for, and we'll have to wait and see how he governs, but if you only watched/read the news over here you'd think there was a military coup last night to install the Taliban.
— Bollywood Villain (@JeremyMcLellan) July 26, 2018

Our own people are responsible for creating this narrative in international media. The same people who don't want to see us progress. The enemies from within. Now, wait for these chameleons to change their colour and see them hovering around Imran Khan to try and lead him astray.. I hope he keeps these liberal chameleons at bay. This will be one of his litmus tests ..

Old Jezza on the ball again. Great put down.

IK's election is the stuff of nightmares for many foreign governments who would prefer the 'cosy' Status Quo of a stagnated Pakistan, hence the negativity from their media.
Here you have a well educated Muslim leader who is potentially un-corruptable and outspoken about foriegn meddling in Pakistan.
I just hope all Pakistanis can rally behind him and move Pakistan forward.

Seems like some are worried about Imran becoming PM.

I guess they are woried that they don't get a puppet PM who they can dominate and bully.

Unfortunately I'm not surprised by the negative response from the US. The negative spin on Khan being Prime Minister is sad to see.

One of the more balanced articles so far, compared to the rest.

This is the fear that most people done understand. Just because IK has become the PM, the problems wont resolve automatically. If things need to be fixed, it could take a couple of years for results to be visible. Some results might even take 4-5 years to be visible.

Does the Pakistani populace have the patience? This is where democracy does not do full justice. People might not have the patience or the willingness to understand that hard times right now will lead to a better life later.

Imran Khan represents the uknown and I guess the West sees him as a bit of an unknown quantity and not easy to dominate.

Khan has procalimed not to be a pushover and if he sticks by that then that spells trouble for some foreign countries.

Lol Fareed Zakaria is one of the most biased and anti Pakistani journalists on CNN, he thinks he's an authority on Pakistan just cause he's an Indian Muslim. Never liked this guy.

Holier than thou is the word for the types. In reality, he is nothing but a crow with lost identity crisis.

Holier than thou is the word for the types. In reality, he is nothing but a crow with lost identity crisis.

A lot of Indian Muslims who haven't even set foot in Pakistan think they're experts on Pakistan just cause they're desi Muslims.

A lot of Indian Muslims who haven't even set foot in Pakistan think they're experts on Pakistan just cause they're desi Muslims.

In the effort of breaking the shackles of identity crisis usually associated with them, which is affinity to Pakistan, they over do it. The weaker kind in the process find themselves as a dhobi ka kutta.

Why anyone is negative on IK? Based on my understanding, two families were simply taking turns as ruling party and results wasn't really great. IK may not not be a strong administrator, but he should be much better than other two families who were taking turns and had lots of corruption charges against them.

Having said that, it will simply depend on Army giving more freedom to IK. Most poster may not like it, but unless an elected government is given freedom, they will find it hard to tackle some problems.

Positive or negative should be based on other options and other potions have not produced very good results in Pakistan. If anything, change should be a positive for Pakistan.

Inviting Reham Khan and Hussain Haqqani.Hardly neutral.

Atleast Haqqani has some standing and qualifications of his own even if he is clearly biased

Lol Reham khans only claim to fame is a 11 month marriage

It just annoys me so much that even here in New Zealand of all places, when the Pakistani election was being discussed on TV and radio news, Hussain Haqqani is being used as the chief source of insight into the election.

The report for the 6 o'clock news simply said "former cricketer Imran Khan set to be Pakistan's next prime minister", "very little hope for any change as Imran Khan is the new face of the army establishment", "the army rigged the election". Absolutely no neutrality shown.

Just read part of this article.

An absolute train-wreck.

The author doesn't even try to be neutral. :))

Oh man, these overseas Indians tend to be even worse and more brainwashed, I don't know what it is.

I have had countless Indians try and confront me about how Pakistani government supports Hafiz Saeed or something, I don't know why they are so obsessed with him :)) :))

This is what the NZ Herald came up with.

Lol I always cringe when indians who don't know anything about Pakistan, speak with such authority on it and then act like they know more than you. This Indian wasn't telling me how Swat and Peshawar were in the "tribal areas" and were cut off from the rest of Pakistan :))

I watched an image of Zee News from election day and after PTI , N and PPP it was showing Hafiz Saeed's party as fourth major force with 00 seats.

But there is still something to learn for an average Indian about Pakistan from these comedies. Because the so called fourth major political force did not win even a provincial seat.

Great line about Hafiz Saeed and his 00 seats.

I think our Indian friends on Pakpassion are lot more informed than most duffers on their media.

Imran Khan "the Islamist" who would potentially carry out Christians persecution

Imran Khan and "Hafiz Saeed" are same

Imran Khan forming alliance with MMA

Hafiz Saeed's party being one of the strongest in Pakistan (with 0,00 seats :)) )

Indian journalists around the world + Hussain Haqqani + Reham Khan = REAL Haqqani Network

It’s there not becuase it’s a major party but its started by a organisation which supports terrorism in Kashmir.Obviously Indian people like to know how Pakistani people treat such elements. Its good that Pakistanis doesn’t allow them in.
