Hindu right-wing groups destroy Christmas Decoration

World should put pressure on India regarding minority rights. India should be sanctioned for failing to protect minorities. :inti

Every now and then, we hear minorities in India are getting attacked, harmed, discriminated, and even killed.

Christians have been attacked by Hindu extremist mobs for decades now esp in Odessa .

But now RSS is more mainstream. Christmas is often a commercial time or marketing to increase sales. Hindus in the west celebrate Christmas with as much passion as Diwali or more .

I wonder why the RSS think this is a threat to their Hindu faith ?

RSS/Sanghis/BJP are the modern day Nazis.

They are insecure, petty, and stupid wannabes.

World should de-sanghify India because they are a threat to regional and global peace.

It funny that Islamists on this forum are trying to take moral high ground based on 1 or 2 random incident in India. Their own community or country are 10 times worse when dealing with minorities. So its better to focus on their own issues

1. Turkey detains 115 suspected Islamic State members believed planning attacks
Turkish authorities have detained 115 suspected Islamic State members they said were planning to carry out attacks on Christmas and New Year celebrations in the country, the Istanbul chief prosecutor's office said on Thursday.
Istanbul Police obtained information that Islamic State members had planned attacks in Turkey, against non-Muslims in particular, during Christmas and New Year celebrations, the prosecutor's office posted on X.

2. Months after attacks, Pakistan’s Christians still feel unsafe

Four months ago, the Christian community in the city of Jaranwala, in north-eastern Pakistan, saw nearly two dozen churches and tens of homes ransacked by hundreds of protestors. In the aftermath, the government promised money to help rebuild. As they prepare for Christmas, many here are still living with the damage and shock of the attack.

The Christmas carol procession lurches its way through Jaranwala's back streets, gathering singers as we go.

We start at the church, the pastor, two drummers, 15 or so enthusiastic singers, lighting the way through the dark streets with phone torches. With each turn more come to their doors to join.

Children are dressed in their Christmas best, some belting out their favourite carol lines. Others shyly join in, dressed in sparkly dresses with glittery bows, Father Christmas hats and light-up trainers, stomping through the streets. Some of the older boys throw small firecrackers, giggling as their mothers shout at them for making them jump.

3. Bangladesh Catholics face Christmas under military guard after church attacks

Recent attempts to sabotage Catholic churches, threats to Catholic educational institutions, and the current political context of the country mean the upcoming Christmas will be a time of concern for Catholics in Muslim-majority Bangladesh.

“There is a sense of fear among us and from that point, all our parish priests have been warned,” Bishop Sebastian Tudu of the Dinajpur Diocese told CNA.

The prelate said that in recent weeks there have been crude bomb explosions targeting churches and church-run institutions in Dhaka and threats to Catholic educational institutions through letters. It is natural to be concerned, he said.

However, he noted that local law enforcement agencies have been active much earlier than in other years and are investigating various church institutions.

4. Indigenous Christian village in Bangladesh burned to the ground on Christmas

An Indigenous Christian village was burnt to the ground just after midnight on Christmas Day in Muslim-majority Bangladesh.

The attack occurred in the Bandarban district of the Chittagong Hill Tracts in southeastern Bangladesh, bordering Myanmar, at around 12:30 a.m. on Dec. 25. The area is in the Catholic Archdiocese of Chittagong, also called Chattogram.

The attack occurred while residents were away attending midnight Mass in a neighboring village, as there is no church in their village. Nobody was in the village when the attack took place, the OpIndia website reported.

“There are 19 families living in the … village and 25 houses of 19 families are totally gutted due to the arson attack. Now they are out of the village and living in their relatives’ villages,” Father Rocky Costa, parish priest of the local St. Peter’s Catholic Church told OSV News.

It’s interesting there is never any condemnation but support

Nah...I never miss any point as I am always 2 step ahead of you guys. I know exactly why this thread was created - just to prove India is intolerant towards minorities, how other faiths are not tolerated in India etc. Apart from these notions not being true, it is opened by Islamists like yourself and that BD loony whose own community deals with minorities 10 times worse. So you have to show the mirror. For a guy who fails to condemn terrorist attack in Jewish festival which killed 16 people, it is very rich for you to show concern when a bunch of goons vandalizing someone celebrating Christmas in a one off incident in India. As I said, you guys fooling no one anymore. These dramebaazis have stopped working long time ago.

Christian Persecution Intensifies After Political Crisis in Bangladesh

At school and around his village in Bangladesh, he is not Robin. He is simply "the Christian."

Just recently, when a classmate sat beside Robin at school, another boy rebuked him. "Why are you sitting with you?" he demanded. "He's not a Muslim, he's a Christian."

In Robin's village, he has only two friends willing to play with him. Often, he finds himself on the edge of a field, alone, watching other children laugh and run.

"Sometimes when I walk in the street or sit in the field watching others play," Robin says softly, "they look at me but don't say anything or invite me to play with them. I want to play too, but I can't even ask them out of fear. I just sit there and feel very lonely."

After the Prime Minister of Bangladesh was ousted in August 2024, political chaos erupted. Some radical Muslims felt emboldened to target religious minorities—including Christians. Converts from Islam (believers like Moly, Jubayer, and Robin) in rural areas were particularly vulnerable.

A local extremist group printed and distributed leaflets in the local market, accusing Robin's family and 10 other Christian families of converting Muslims by offering money.

The accusations had a swift impact. One morning around 11:00 am, a mob of 40 to 50 people led by five local imams (Muslim religious leaders) and the elected ward chairman descended on their small house church.

Hindu Extremists Threaten Genocide Against Christians

Hindutva leaders have called for the killing of Christians on March 1, 2025, across three villages in the state of Chhattisgarh, India: Bishrampur, Janakpur, and Ganeshpur.

One leader, Aadesh Soni, declared that the plan is to rape and kill all Christian men, women, and children in the villages. He calls for Christian leaders to be executed and any trace of Christianity erased from the region.

Aadesh Soni defends his call for genocide by accusing Christians of engaging in the slaughter of cows, a revered animal in Hinduism. Soni has urged his followers to rally at least 50,000 people for the scheduled attack on March 1, 2025. He asserts that local authorities support this genocidal initiative.

Another leader Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati ordered Hindus to kill all Christians. He called upon 1,000 Hindus to rise and “slay those who slay our mother cow.”

Violent attacks on minority communities in India, particularly Christians and Muslims, have been rising in recent years. In 2024, there were 834 incidents targeting Christians, a notable rise compared to 2023, which saw 734 such attacks.

On June 12, 2024 a Hindutva mob in Chhattisgarh, attacked Christian families, threatened them, and gave them a 10-day ultimatum to renounce their faith.

In July 2024, a Hindu mob attacked a pastor in Chhattisgarh state. On December 27, 2024, members of the Vishva Hindu Prasad (VHP), a right-wing Hindu militant group, forcibly converted a Christian Dalit man to Hinduism and paraded him in Uttar Pradesh. VHP members raised slogans such as “Jesus murdabad” or “Death to Jesus.”

The United Nations has raised concerns about discrimination and violence against religious minorities in India.

The United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) has recommended that the US designate India as a "Country of Particular Concern" due to its ongoing and severe violations of religious freedom.

Crude bomb attack near Dhaka church kills 21-year-old on Christmas Eve

Fresh violence erupted in Dhaka on Christmas Eve after a young man was killed in a petrol bomb attack at the busy Moghbazar intersection, police said on Wednesday night

As to the topic, I believe the vast majority of genuine Hindus would have no problem with Xmas celebrations, and would even happily add Santa Claus to the million other gods they worship. Real Hinduism is by nature all inclusive, that is the whole point of it.

These hindutva mobs are often frustrated Hindus who have given up on their religion and take up hindutva in it's place where they can claim to be atheist and Hindu at the same time...while rejecting actual Hindu scriptures.

================================================

4/2/2025 India (International Christian Concern) — The Evangelical Fellowship of India’s Religious Liberty Commission (EFIRLC) verified 640 incidents of violence and discrimination against Christians in India in 2024, which is more than quadruple the 147 cases recorded in 2014.

Though the commission was able to confirm 640 incidents of persecution, a total of 840 cases were actually reported. A spokesperson for the EFIRLC explained that there are likely many more Christians who have been victimized for their faith but are afraid to come forward.

“The scale and intensity of persecution against Christians in India has reached crisis levels,” Rev. Vijayesh Lal, General Secretary of the Evangelical Fellowship of India, stated. “Even with 840 reported incidents, of which we were able to verify 640, these numbers likely represent only a fraction of the actual incidents, as many go unreported due to intimidation and fear.”

Hindu extremism, anti-conversion laws, and mob attacks fuel much of the persecution against Christ followers in the nation. Groups like the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) believe in Hindu nationalism. At its core, the belief centers on the idea that Hinduism should be adhered to across India to maintain the nation’s cultural identity, thus marginalizing minority groups such as Christians.

Mob attacks against Christians frequently turn violent, with reports of aggressors beating Christ followers and destroying their property. The violence is often stoked by false accusations of Christians trying to forcibly convert non-Christians simply by holding church services.

The attackers cite anti-conversion laws on the books in many Indian states as justification for their actions. According to International Christian Concern’s Global Persecution Index, “for the mobs, the laws give a veneer of legitimacy to their grievances and empower them to act with violence against innocent Christians.”

Though many innocent Christ followers bravely persist in their faith, alarm bells continue to be raised as the horrendous abuse against them shows no signs of slowing down.

Christ followers have been physically assaulted, killed, and one extremist leader even called for them to be raped as punishment for eating cows, an animal sacred in Hinduism.

Good post and agree with this last para.

However, it is same for Islamist Jihadis right? They claim to be muslims but has given up on religion, rejects actual teachings of Islam and adopt the path of terrorism.

Study Reveals Number of Daily Attacks Against Christians in India

6/24/2025 India (International Christian Concern) — A new report claims that, on average, at least two attacks against Christians occur in India daily.

The United Christian Forum (UCF) recently announced that it recorded 313 incidents from January until May through its toll-free helpline and other sources.

The data includes various forms of attacks like physical violence, murder, sexual violence, intimidation and threats, social boycotts, damage to religious properties, desecration of religious symbols, and disruption of prayer services.

Two states, Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, have become hotspots of viral hate, brutal mob violence, and rampant social ostracization in which elements of the law and justice apparatus are complicit, UCF’s statement said.

Chhattisgarh recorded 64 incidents of violence against Christians, and Uttar Pradesh recorded 58.

If the trend is not stopped immediately by political will and concerted government action, UCF said, it will soon threaten the identity and existence of the Indian Christian community.

Breaking down the statistics further, UCF revealed that 36 cases against Christian women were recorded. Twenty-six cases were recorded against tribal Christians, and 17 cases against Christian Dalits were recorded.

Many attacks go unreported due to fear of retribution in an environment of impunity and political patronage, UCF added.

The UCF’s national convenor, A C Michael, alleged that “the law and justice apparatus are complicit” in the atrocities committed against Christians in many states.

The UCF is an interdenominational Christian organization that advocates for the rights of the Christian minority, primarily through protests and other democratic means. It has a national helpline designed to help victims of persecution.

Twelve of India’s 28 states, most of them ruled by the pro-Hindu Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, have enacted anti-conversion laws. The most stringent anti-conversion law is in Uttar Pradesh. Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh are reportedly amending their anti-conversion laws in line with Uttar Pradesh’s.

Christian leaders have claimed that Hindu nationalist groups have weaponized these anti-conversion laws to target Christians.
International Christian Concern (ICC) has repeatedly highlighted the fact that the incidents of violence against Christians have increased during the past decade, especially since the BJP came to power at the federal level in 2014.

Btw, what is this RSS RSS you keep on harping on? You do realize these dramas no longer work, right? LOL

Your umpteenth attempt of equating & labelling RSS as terrorist organization will fail. Unless they do some terror activities in western world, no one will term them as terrorist organizations and/associate them with any terrorism. You had a live example of that Aussie poster here who called you out asking what is this RSS you keep referring to everyone everytime?

RSS is India's backbone. They are biggest paramilitary and NGO in the world. No amount of caricature without evidence will be tolerated.

@Hitman hatred for Muslims is way stronger than your hatred for Muslim to the point he is willing to get spit on by zionist and get his faith being ridiculed as long as their is genocide against Muslims.

Christian Hindutva Zionist are probably the most confused people. 🤷🏽‍♂️😀

More confused that Hindutva supporting Tommy Robinson. 😂

This is yet another strong piece of evidence exposing the Hindutva cult, especially when you look at those who claim to be Christian or atheist. They seem perfectly comfortable watching their own beliefs be desecrated by the very Hindutva ideology that genuine minorities have long identified, with ample evidence, as a religiously driven extremist movement seeking to impose its supremacy. Yet when their own faith is targeted by Hindutva, their response is invariably, What about Muslims?

That raises an obvious question, are they really who they claim to be, or are they merely pretending in order to legitimize a distorted and hateful Hindutva narrative? Either way, it’s hard to describe it as anything other than deeply repugnant.

@Hitman hatred for Muslims is way stronger than your hatred for Muslim to the point he is willing to get spit on by zionist and get his faith being ridiculed as long as their is genocide against Muslims.

Though knowing @Hitman , I know that is not true and he is a man of honour. However, lets accept your point to be true for this discussion. Why do you think, likes of him, who is also a minority in India - hates muslims? He surely didnt born with that hatred. Dont you think something earthly might have happened for that feeling to develop? Dont you think incidents likes Delhi Blasts (false flags according to you lot) has something to do behind that hatred?

It cannot be muslims are all innocent and Hindus, Christians, Zionists all ganging up and hating on them without any reason. I have asked this question multiple times but never get any answer.

I am admitting all the charge - Indian Hindus, Christians in west, zionists everyone hates muslims. But WHY?

Not sure why we never introspect on this WHY part. Difficult discussion, isnt it bruv?

Anyway, merry Christmas bro...hope you have a good one.

No one is born with hatred, you supporting Tommy Roninson is a learnt hatred, you choose to internalized most here who aren't seeking white supremacy decided to criticize it.

I did, you chose hate and support the groups that commit genocide, murder and lymching of other humans, rest of us don't.

Sure we all saw that in Bondi beach thread.

Reading the title of the thread, a normal person would probably assume that Hindu 'extremists' either killed dozens by suicide bombing or killed dozens using guns or bombs chanting .......
Exactly this. I dont think any sensible Hindu will support such goons. I hope they face the wrath of the law and proper thrashing from police. The entire India and Hindu community also shamed those idiots who were going after Jemima Rodrigues for her faith after Women WC Finals. Same was the case when M.Shami faced trolling post 2021 WT20 game. So we dont need lecture about criticizing our own people as our constitution is secular.

The issue is when these types of threads are open by posters trying to act all righteous, just days after failure to condemn Bondi beach mass shooting at Jewish festival, is too much hypocrisy to handle. Then @sweep_shot is sharing stories from 1999 to show his hatred for India is just icing on the cake.

You speak for yourself, not for everyone, just as most Hindus criticizing Hindutva are speaking for themselves.

But you have only way to defend yours by “what about other religiously driven extremists, like ISIS”. 🤣🤣

This is not on topic but since they are allowing you to post off topic stuff here then I would also like to ask you.

Are you talking about those hypocrites who were all over that thread when the attackers were said to be Pakistanis, but the moment one of them turned out to be ex-Indian, they flew away like 'kabootars' and the thread nearly died? :inti

Bondi beach attacker was an Indian is the biggest copying mechanism I have seen in recent past. Its like saying Israel's supreme leader Khamanei has roots from UP India.

I am surprised, Manchester Synagogue attacker were not proven to be Sanatani yet. Also, the delhi doctors who blew up the city were not proven to be victims by now.

So Sania Mirza and Mohammed Siraj, both from Hyderabad are Indians, but saying that Sajid Akram was an ex-indian is a coping mechanism? The weirdest part in that thread was a few NRIs claiming they had never heard the surname 'Akram' in India. Why and how would they know anyway? Abdul is the only name they know and chant 24*7. :facepalm :inti

Sania Mirza and Mohammed Siraj? Bro what kind of straw you are clutching into?

His attack on innocent beach goers during Jewish festival has nothing to do with him being Indian. It was an ideological attack and absolutely nothing to do with his nationality.

Just like the Terrorist British police caught other day, for planning biggest attack on Jews in UK, is from Tunisia but has absolutely nothing to do with it.

The same case with Manchester Synagogue attackers.

The doctors who blew up in Delhi were also from India but being from India was not the reason they blew themselves up.

How long shall we beat around the bush and avoid calling spade a spade?

Another indisputable fact is that Rajdeep is an extremist RSS Hindutva goon...

Meanwhile, a very merry Christmas to the proper Christian's here and the Muslims who respect Christianity and other cultures...

Christmas in India unfolds under shadow of fear and intimidation

Christians across India mark Christmas amid reports from multiple states of attacks on carol singers, vandalism of decorations, harassment of worshippers and vendors, and controversial remarks by BJP leaders.

While churches fill with worshippers and festive greetings pour in, Christmas in India is unfolding amid more fear and tension rather than celebration with countless reports of attacks, intimidation and disruptions on Christian gatherings and decorations.

The attacks have been linked to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh‑affiliated and right‑wing Hindu groups in several states, including Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Kerala.

Police have made arrests and stepped up security, as religious leaders warn against intimidation and call for the protection of constitutional rights.

At a mall in Chhattisgarh’s capital city, Raipur, Christmas decorations were vandalised by a mob of right‑wing activists.

“Around 80-90 people barged in. For the last 16 years, since we began operations here…I have never seen such behaviour. The mob threatened us…shouted at us. They indulged in violence,” an employee of the mall was quoted as saying by The Indian Express.

The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), a key Hindu nationalist organisation, issued public appeals urging Hindus to refrain from celebrating Christmas, describing participation in the festival as a threat to “cultural awareness,” Indian media reported.

Critics say these calls have contributed to an atmosphere of exclusion and emboldened groups to harass vendors, disrupt celebrations and intimidate Christians during the season.

In Kerala, a group of children, mostly under age 15, participating in a Christmas carol procession were attacked and their instruments destroyed by a man identified locally as affiliated with the RSS on December 21, The News Minute reported.

Police arrested him and he was charged under laws including those prohibiting communal violence.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP)
state leader C Krishnakumar dismissed the incident by falsely claiming the group of children were a “drunken criminal gang” and insinuated political motives behind their carolling, a remark that parents and local residents described as deeply hurtful and misleading, given the minors involved.

BJP state vice‑president Shone George echoed this line, saying “if the carollers are indecent, they will definitely get beaten up”.

The comments alarmed families and rights advocates and prompted some parents to consider legal complaints for defamation and psychological harm to the children.

In a strong condemnation of the attack, the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) organised protest carols across the district.

In Madhya Pradesh, two separate incidents were reported where a local BJP district vice‑president assaulted a visually impaired woman attending a prayer meeting, with mob harassment also reported during church gatherings.

In several cities, street vendors selling Christmas items such as Santa hats and decorations were intimidated and harassed, with bystanders and vigilantes accusing them of promoting “non-Hindu culture”, including in Delhi’s Lajpat Nagar, where Bajrang Dal members verbally confronted women and children wearing Santa Claus hats and urged them to celebrate only at home, according to social media video footage and police statements reported in Indian media.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan condemned the attacks on Christmas celebrations as antithetical to India’s secular ethos.

Vijayan also highlighted pressure by RSS-linked groups on schools and institutions to cancel Christmas events and warned any infringement on constitutional rights would not be tolerated.

Heightened police deployment has been reported at churches and sites of potential tension, for example, at a historic church in Hisar, Haryana, where authorities positioned officers to prevent clashes after right‑wing groups announced their own events nearby.

The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India (CBCI) issued statements expressing deep concern about rising attacks on Christians during the Christmas season and urged government action to protect citizens’ constitutional rights.

The Bombay Catholic Sabha similarly condemned the brutal intimidation of Christians and called for protective measures

India’s too big a country to draw conclusions from isolated incidents in small towns. Even then it’s usually some sort of harassment. In backward radical Islamist nations like Pakistan, Bangladesh you would hear minorities getting murdered for these things or their homes being burnt or something. Little bit of scolding from right wing Sanatanis in India is nothing in comparison to life endangering and demeaning situations minorities face in our immediate neighbourhood.

In Pakistan for instance, forget other religions but even Shia, Ahmadi, Baloch Muslims face worse conditions. Thankfully India is way better and remains the beacon of hope in South Asia for minorities.

These are not isolated , they are increasing since the days of burnings of Christian villages decades ago. Youre confusing sectarianism with a ruling extremist power which is spreading hate against Christians .

No Muslim country has so many politicians who incite violence and hate against minorities as India has .., because of the ideology . Youre not calling out attacks on fellow Indian Christians, its a bit silly you pretending you care for sects in other faiths .

Please translate for the reputation of Dharma
