1st time in SF of any World event.

Won the toss & batting 1st - probably good decision, we 'll need 200 at least, but 235 is probably a safe total. We have taken an offie, for extra spin option for the WI left-handers.

What's the hype with Pinak Ghosh?

The shot was on, it was a poor ball, but he was probably rattled by the short staffs. He is an excellent talent, I have seen him. But, fitness is an issue, he is already over weight.

Its very important to build a partnership from here. The decision of batting first was mistake in this foggy and overcast condition.

Apparently it was a sunny morning and it became overcast conditions with fog literally 10 mins after toss.

I think, still we are fine - RR is over 4 & our team has the batting depth while WI attack is front heavy, we should be good to put 240+; this wicket 'll turn later otherwise Miraz won't have batted 1st.

The 25 year old Rijal guy just called someone a "bhai". Does that mean there is someone that is older than this 25 year old ? lol

Bangladesh's jersey looks good, their senior team should start wearing that uniform.

The Namibians have no native players playing for their team, its just their colonial power.

Batting first in a semifinal is always a good decision. Yes, the ball may move in the early overs but the objective must be to not throw wickets away and take too much risks, even if it means that you bat at a slow rate. You can always make up in the later overs when the spinners come on.

Pakistan were 50/5 and still went on to score around 230. India were 33/2 at the end of 10 overs, still managed to score 260 odd score. Bangladesh has a deep batting order too, and if the middle order can end up scoring around 230, that would be a good enough score to defend in a semifinal.

This is the end of road for Bangladesh, well played young lads though, made it to the semis. Proud of young guns.

Most of the batsman are out of form. It would be harsh to expect Miraz will save us everyday!

I think, we are just 1 more wicket down. 113/3 after 27 is perfect platform to reach 250. However, in earlier matches, BD No. 7 & lower hardly got batting chance, therefore I am not sure how the tail 'll play.

5 down (:

The early wickets were expected. Bangladesh probably lost a wicket more than it shoud have. Still it can easily add another 130 runs in the next 20 overs if they build a good partnership.

Edit: lost 2 wickets more than it should have now.

WI has so far used just 4 bowlers, considering that, it was a poor shot

Facing Alzarri and Holder under the pressure to chase mightve been harder imo.

I think, the to surface is a bit loose, which 'll help spinners. Also, recently we beat WI 3-0, I think every time batting 1st. WI struggles in chase - a bit hit & miss top order, slogged their way in QF, but I think they 'll struggle to chase 200 (If we can put that).

I feel the pitch eases out later in the day also the fog factor.

Even Pakistan batted first didn't they? And that guy Umair scored a neat ton. Its just that the rest of the batting flopped. Neither BD or Pakistan looked to conserve wickets in the first 20 or so which is a big mistake. 250 is pretty much a winning total.

I agree . WI didn't look convincing while chasing in the quarterfinal.

Also, I think that was at Fatullah, which is the best batting wicket in BD. This one is at Mirpur, I think batting 1st is not a bad idea, we are just about 1 wicket more down for 33rd over.

They should play next 6 overs on singles and twos. Then they might go for big shots. Saifuddin bloke can hit pretty big!

48 balls, if we can finish well, should reach 240 ish.

If Ban can make 225 they will have a good chance of winning otherwise WI has good batting to chase

Yes first 10 overs is hard on this pitch in the morning but seeing BD has reached 220ish they would win with that as well.

Poor shot by Miraz, should have remained NO - 225 is a winning total here. Now we are 7 down.

WI conceded almost 25 extra, otherwise, we were almost dead. That early runs helped to keep the RR afloat just over or around 4 through out, saved from 90/6 situation. I think WI new ball bowlers had been outstanding, but they were over aggressive today.

Hope WI come all guns blazing like their last match

What 90/6 situation?

What 90/6 situation?

If the RR was around 3.5, Miraz & Joy had to go after - WI bowled really well with new ball, could have lost couple more & finished 90/6 after 25 - 170 max in total. BD don't have power hitters, therefore we build the score gradually, we can't add 135 in last 15 overs, no matter how many wickets at hand.

The amount of players 'bowled' in this innings mind boggling and as predicted it is 225ish poor bowling from Windies.

Oh ok yeah this is going to be hard for Windies.

No doubt BD U-19 have had the better of WI U-19 in the past and also will be able to turn the ball but lets take somethings into account

1) Semi-finals are very much a mental game. Everyone is thinking about the finals, no team really wants to lose out in the Semi-finals. Which is why chasing is difficult

2) Home crowd. The noise will result in poor RBW. They struggled in fatullah, now imagine a crowd of 10000-15000 cheering against them and they can't hear themselves. Nepal faced that which is why they had about 4 runouts and could have had more because of miscommunication. BD too faced this trouble last match. Also, the home crowd can really pressurize these batsman.

Chance for BD to win this semi is 40%

I would say 60% BD not because of our quality but because WI will find it difficult to chase in a SF against a home crowd. And tbh, BD did well to score 226 given they were 110-5
