Hopefully they bowl first and restrict Afg to low score and chase it , Pak bowling looks really weak with no wicket takers and batting needs to be clicked regularly in order to have any chance in this worldcup

I think, the same team will play that played against India in the U19 Asia cup

Amir Hasan getting spanked in every game he plays but sadly Ali Raza and Khubaib had been hammered in the warmup game, seriously the fast bowling talent is very poor this time around and we should opt for 3 spinners instead

Naveed Ahmed khan opened the bowling in the warmup and picked both openers wicket as well , no harm in giving him the new ball instead of Amir Hasan.

Poll added above.

Which team is going to win this clash?
I guess it has to be Pakistan U19.

Toss Update:

Pakistan U19 won the toss and opted to bat first against Afghanistan U19.

Watching this game. Shamyl looks like a good aggressive player. Good judge of line n length.

Parchi Ali Asfand again? These parchis will take over our side and keep us loosing in future.

Shahzain looks like a stuck guy on the crease. Catch was also dropped by the bowler.
after 10 overs, 35/0

Shamyl started well and was decisive. But then went into a shell that eventually led to his dismissal

Azan is the best batsman in this batch imo. Very organised and loves to play a long knock

Pakistan U19 lose 1st wicket as Shamyl is gone. A bit slower start but fine at this level for me. Losing that wicket was not right time though.

Our team has no talent even in U19 level. Afghanistan has better cricket infrastructure than ours. No wonder they beat our team in every stages

This is a very slow kind of build-up by the batters. Too windy or bowlers are bowling top stuff?

Nice shots by the captain

Looks like TV channels are loosing interest on Pakistan cricket after series of poor shows for years.

Or you could just tell people which channel is showing the game right know.

That generic list of channels is no good

Shahzaib Khan gets to his 50 with style. 4 to reach his 1st 50 of the ICC world cup campaign.

Both Saad and Shahzaib have scored a 50 now and are building a solid partnership here. Already of 92 runs off 89 balls.

As usual collapse started. Team consists of parchis can not win us anything

Pakistan U19 are 151-4 in the 31st over 🏏

Skipper Saad Baig is dismissed after an excellent half-century. Saad and Shahzaib Khan (59*) put on a brilliant 92-run stand for the third wicket

Can we at least play full 50 overs and score around 250 to challenged Afghanistan.

Bro in this age of social media and if you have extra ordinary talent , you can’t remain hidden , Pak is just not producing talent it used to be

Pak 160/4 after 33 overs. Shahzaib Khan 61* not out and Riaz Ullah on 6* not out at the crease for Pakistan Under 19 side.

It also means Afghan bros has better talent pool with limited amount of players plus selection is more honest way and their cricket infrastructure is better than us.

Riaz can hit well. Few more overs of him and it will be game over for Afghans

Did India send their main U19 teams or some some random C/D players? Can anyone please confirm that.

Score Updates

PAK 244/6 after 45.3 overs. Arafat Minhas the latest to depart for Pakistan Under-19 after just scoring 8 off 6 deliveries.

Seems like ubaid has some hitting ability with the bat. He hitting their best bowler for sixers. also hit 5 sixes against SA in the warmup too.

Ali Asfand is playing in Parchi Quota!!!! he single-handedly cause us lost the match against UAE. So Captain don't trust this guy.

Pakistan 284/8 (50 overs) v Afghanistan in East London

Toss: Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat

Pakistan skipper Saad Baig won the toss and opted to bat first in East London. The Pakistan openers were patient against the new-ball pairing of Bashir Ahmad and Allah Mohammad Ghanzafar. However, the early good work was undone by Khalil Ahmed. The pacer picked two wickets in his first two overs, including Shamyl Hossain (17) and Azan Awais (5). Captain Baig counter-attacked at number four, particularly taking on the Afghanistan spinners, hitting four sixes during his stay.

He was eventually cleaned up by a beauty from Ghanzafar in the 28th over. Ahmed Hussain fell soon after, as Pakistan's scoring rate was stifled over the next few overs. However, around the 35th over mark, Shahzaib Khan and Muhammad Riazullah let out a number of attacking shots to get Pakistan back in the game. They finished the second Powerplay with a four and began the last stretch with a flurry of big strokes. By the time Riazullah fell, the duo had added 84 at run-a-ball.

Shahzaib's aggression bore results for the Boys in Green. He reached his hundred in the 48th over, while Pakistan added 84 runs in the last 10.

Afghanistan and Pakistan have a storied rivalry, which has over the years in both junior and senior-level cricket. The two sides met recently in the U19 Asia Cup in December, where Pakistan beat Afghanistan by 103 runs.

Pak U19 have a very good score on the board. I would venture to say a matchwinning score.

Ubaid Shah seems to have gain pace after the Asia cup and seems to be bowling a lot fuller as welk

Speeds of the Pakistani lads?

The pace bowling since our 2018 batch has been mediocre

Shahzaib Khan another Pakistan opening batter to register a century in ICC Under-19 World Cup Tournaments.

Decent fight shown by the 3rd wicket duo, but they have a long way to go.

Once partnership crosses 50, then you will see nerves coming into play for Pakistan.

Ubaid has been terrific with his fuller length and seaming it both ways and generating good speed as well , I think his effort delivery is definitely touching 135.

This is Ahmed Hussain not Ahmed Hassan who is a different player and a leg spinner. This guy is an all rounder. Highest run scorer in the warm ups infact.
