They don't have middle gear. Either dots or fours. They could have focused on singles and twos. But But klassen markram qdk lol.
Qdk has been hazlewoods's ***** for ages.
Bounce seam swing . Other team would have bowled here but SA know their only chance is batting first so every way they will will be hammeredWeather eh?
Their one dimensionality is being punished.Bounce seam swing . Other team would have bowled here but SA know their only chance is batting first so every way they will will be hammered
True but head Maxwell green Cummins are all in their prime. Hazlewood is in his prime still. Even better. He was too young then.It is not questionable.
Stark peaked at the right time but at the start of the tournament he was a joke compared to his classic dominating self of the past who would be a nightmare new ball bowler for others.
Steve Smith in 2015 was even > 2015 version of kohli at the time. Kohli 2016 surpassed him though, but current Smith is a joke beyond belief and a thorn in the side. Labu is also causing balance problems.
Watson not being here is a huge miss.
Warner of the current era while good is a shadow of his former 2015 self.
Aus bowlers of 2015 were unplayable, aus batters were master class strikers.
The 2015 aussie team would have loved batting in these conditons and you'd see bazzball 400× strokes.
Only player who's superior in 2023 to their 2015 counter part is Glenn Maxwell.
Bounce seam swing . Other team would have bowled here but SA know their only chance is batting first so every way they will will be hammered
Cummins said he would’ve batted first too.. I think everyone misjudged how much the ball would move in the air with the cloud cover aroundBounce seam swing . Other team would have bowled here but SA know their only chance is batting first so every way they will will be hammered
He is a compulsive tuk tuker. He can survive. That game doesn't help in these conditions. Matter of time you get a ball with your name.Said this during the SA v PAK game as well. Rassie looked the biggest choker in this lineup
Yep. Rassie chokes. Soft, soft dismissal.Said this during the SA v PAK game as well. Rassie looked the biggest choker in this lineup
Cummings in 2015 was better, so was Hazelwood.True but head Maxwell green Cummins are all in their prime. Hazlewood is in his prime still. Even better. He was too young then.
It would be dead even. In Asian conditions I think this team if they get rid of Smith and labu and put the young guns in they would win.
Yes they went for batting even the pitch has been under cover for long . Also very dark clouds . They should have backed themselves to get them out quick and that likely would have happened but they just got scared of their historyThat's why they deserve this.
You need to be able to compete outside of your preferred M.O.
If the conditions called for a bowl first, that should have influenced the decision.
Another gone!
SA always mess up important decisionsNever bat first on pitches that have been covered that long. There will be moisture on that pitch that helps seam movement.
Calm down. These are perfect pace bowling conditions, Australia has three experienced bowlers to take advantage of these conditions. These same bowlers got a rollicking throughout this World Cup, to the point that they are I believe ranked sixth or seventh in terms of pace bowling stats for the tournament.Cummings in 2015 was better, so was Hazelwood.
You're forgetting how bad these guys were at the start and throughout the tournament however if you read my comments from a month ago I told everyone Australia is the only team capable of losing 3 games on the dot and dominating their next 7 games cause they know how to peak and win games.
Today's match everyone is on song and back to their 2015 way of bowling by having perfect line and length but their 2015 versions were doing it since ball 1, only having one collapse against NZ which even then NZ beat them in the group stage by only 1 wicket and barely managed to win.
Maxwell is superior, the rest are not better then their 2015 versions however today and in the final they are all onsong.
Look at their fielding in the India game and their fielding today where everyone is a johnty rhodes on the field.
This aus team is the 2nd weakest ever but it shoes how strong aus truly is a champions team compared to someone like Pakistan. Their not mental midgets, they punch > their weight, they Peak at the right time and now that their in the semi finals, their the only team capable of taking down India and putting Indian fans in their place.
You'll be facing this attack next month at Perth. If Saffers are getting mauled like this, better eat your vitamins and say your prayers for Imam against this attack at Perth ...Lol hahahahah.
India is next. Let's go Australia...
They are so scared of chasing that they opted to bat first regardless of conditionsSA always mess up important decisions
There is no basis to have faith. Instead you have an undeserving captain that publicly announced his team doesn't have a template to chase.South Africa could have avoided this catastrophe and Australia could have been on the receiving end if they had more faith in their chasing capabilities.
These are horrible batting conditions. The worst we have had in the World Cup so far. Australia wouldn’t have been much better off at this stage if they were batting against the South African pace attack.
I don't think that is the problem. They struggled even in bilaterals whenever they had even slight movement. Their game is suitable only for flat pitches. Not for turning tracks. Not for swinging conditions.South Africa could have avoided this catastrophe and Australia could have been on the receiving end if they had more faith in their chasing capabilities.

Reminds me of 1999 WC finalThey are so scared of chasing that they opted to bat first regardless of conditions
Exactly some of the new posters on here really baffle me. Just gives me an impression they started watching cricket recently. Aussie bowlers were thrashed this entire tournament. But have to agree Aussies are clutch in these situations.Calm down. These are perfect pace bowling conditions, Australia has three experienced bowlers to take advantage of these conditions. These same bowlers got a rollicking throughout this World Cup, to the point that they are I believe ranked sixth or seventh in terms of pace bowling stats for the tournament.
South Africa choosing to bat first here has crippled them. The movement is quite exaggerated.
Was this a bat first surface or are we playing atrocious cricket?
I am calm, what makes you think I'm screaming?Calm down. These are perfect pace bowling conditions, Australia has three experienced bowlers to take advantage of these conditions. You are playing atrocious cricket. Conditions were not good for batting. but they hardly focused on rotating strike. 46 dot balls in first 10 overs. Was this a bat first surface or are we playing atrocious cricket?
There was no swing there. There was a lot of bounce and movement was only because of Lords slope.Reminds me of 1999 WC final
Pitch was covered for a whole day so very likely it's damp underneath causing the ball to hold up in the surface. Also the ball is swinging. Was this a bat first surface or are we playing atrocious cricket?
Australian seam bowling was all over the shop until this match lol Come semi final they are on the moneyIt's so dangerous to come into games with a predetermined mindset. It looks gloomy out there and the ball has been zipping about all day
It is not going to be a wash out. THey have enough time to complete this game. They are off. It is raining.
If there is a washout, SA go to final.
Australia is a beautiful place to bat. Facing this attack in these Kolkata conditions is more challenging then facing them on an even paced Perth surface with the sun shining. You'll be facing this attack next month at Perth. If Saffers are getting mauled like this, better eat your vitamins and say your prayers for Imam against this attack at Perth ...
you are underestimating their skills now bro. They are mor skilled now given vast experience.Cummings in 2015 was better, so was Hazelwood.

Maybe read my arguments before sticking to hiding behind High horses of I think they just started watching recently and are inexperienced because they don't agree with my viewpoints.Exactly some of the new posters on here really baffle me. The ball was and is zipping about though. They didn't want to fiddle outside off stump plus the Aussies were cutting everything off denying those singles and boundaries. You are playing atrocious cricket. Conditions were not good for batting. but they hardly focused on rotating strike. 46 dot balls in first 10 overs.
