Chepauk helps finger and leg spinners. It is much harder there as well. Seen it over the years. Each stadium has 2 or 3 pitches. Black soil, red soil, mixture of these pitches. Depends on where they play you get this. But in general Eden Gardens has offered more turn. Problem for SA is not part time finger spinners. They lost too many to seamers on this wicket.

India, Australia seem to have learnt the art of adapting... In fact even Afghanistan & Pakistan (though they lack the overall skills) are better at adapting compared to England, South Africa and West Indies. New Zealand are marginally good...

New Zealand actually adapted better than anyone else. They just don't have the bowling resources to compete and lost because they don't have the quality and depth of others. They mostly didn't get blasted out of sight on any pitch.
