Ijaz Ahmad was a great player of his time but the performance of the current under 19 Pakistan team under him appeared no match to Australia in World cup quarter final and could not handle pressure chasing tiny total against Sri Lanka.
Rameez Raja should hire some other coach. Ijaz Ahmad is done and dusted.

would rather young players play first-class than 50 over international u19 games, the format isn't relevant to modern cricket when 80% of cricket is red ball or t20.

the best young players learn more from sharing dressing rooms and practise nets with top quality players than from their peers or coaches who arent good enough to hold down a first xi gig.

the purpose it serves is to highlight talents like shaheen who so obviously stand out at that level, but a competent feeder system negates the need for that platform.

i don't mind under 19 world cups as a show piece for talent spotting, but I don't think PCB should worry to much about it. more focus should be on expanding the local under 19 feeder tournaments.

The U19 PSL is a must. The PCB should also have a separate U19 domestic T20 tournament, U19 ODI tournament and an U19 4 day competition. Don't view the cost as an unnecessary expenditure but as an investment in the future
