Mahmudullah's men are riding high on their first win in Twenty20 International cricket against India, can they capitalise on that to seal the series with another win when they meet in Rajkot for the second game of the three-match series?

Overview

India v Bangladesh
2nd T20I
Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Rajkot
Thursday, 7 November; 7:00pm local time, 1:30pm GMT

The win in Delhi in tough conditions was just what Bangladesh needed after a tumultuous few weeks, and with several of their big names missing. The visitors showed maturity in taking the game deep on a slow surface and were rewarded for it.

India will be under pressure to avoid another limited-overs series defeat at home: they lost to Australia earlier in the year, and drew with South Africa.

In the absence of Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, India's concern is their death bowling. Shardul Thakur is another bowling option for captain Rohit Sharma, while Sanju Samson and Manish Pandey are batsmen waiting on the bench. India, though, might choose to give their playing XI a longer rope before forcing any drastic changes.

What happened last time

In the series opener in Delhi, Mushfiqur Rahim exploded after a steady start to take Khaleel Ahmed for 18 in the penultimate over, and chase down India's 148/6 with seven wickets and three balls to spare. His match-winning 60* came off 43 balls, while Mohammad Naim (26) and Soumya Sarkar (39) made handy contributions.

Before those fireworks, on a tricky surface for batting, captain Mahmudullah used eight bowlers to put pressure on the Indian top order. Shafiul Islam and Aminul Islam picked up two wickets each, while Afif Hossain impressed with figures of 1/11 in three overs. Shikhar Dhawan made a laboured 41 off 42 balls, but few other Indian batsmen could kick on.

"It's a great moment for Bangladesh cricket because we had not won against India in the T20 format before."

Yuzvendra Chahal, India leg-spinner: "It is not about pressure. It is a three-game series, not a knockout game, so obviously one will win, one will lose, and that day they played better than us. We are one down and still two matches to go, and obviously if we believe in ourselves, we will come back."

Mushfiqur Rahim, Bangladesh wicket-keeper batsman: "I said to the journalists before leaving Bangladesh that the only way to return to the right track would be with a couple of wins in India. It will bring back smiles and calmness to the team and the nation."

While pollution threatened the first T20I in Delhi, the Rajkot game could be hit by inclement weather. A cyclone in the nearby coastal region is expected to bring rain. The groundsmen, though, are confident in the efficiency of the drainage system and expect a game if rain is limited to the morning or early afternoon of match-day. While rain might slow the outfield, the pitch itself is expected to offer plenty of runs.

Kohli or Rohit? Who's the biggest idiot when it comes to wrong team selections? This lad Khaleel has no place even in domestics!

What a luck! Feel sorry for Liton. Such a talent but he could not transpire his talent by scoring run feast.

Bad luck Chahal lol Pant caught the ball infront of stumps and stumped. so an easy stumping became a noball.

Another low grade T20 is developing. Apart from Chahal to some extent Sundar others are serious downgrade.

Batting is terrible, lacks basic knowledge of stumpings! What is this Pant upto? And that terrible misfield by MI star! This team deserves humiliation for sure!

India is very very lackluster. Putting down another sitter. It is almost like they are playing with no interest.

Liton bhai is trying his best to get out but Indian are too adamant to not let go him.

Pathetic attitude by Indians. Taking it way too casually. Even by seasoned player like dhawan.

Liton is a 20 runs player, fits only T20 well. Plays a good looking twenties and gets out

Bangladesh - 65/1 after 8.3 overs.

This is a batting pitch. BD would probably need 180+

This Naim kid is looking promising. I think he is one of the potential replacements for Tamim as both are left-handed.

He doesn't look that great tbh needs to develop a lot to be in same category as Tamim

Bangladesh - 78/1 after 10 overs.

Not bad but they now have to accelerate. Anything less than 180 is insufficient here.

bro india doesn't care about t20 bilaterals. only test cricket, odi world cup, ipl and maybe the t20 world cup I guess.

That's how it should be anyway.

what bothers me is that people like khaleel and chahar get picked yet saini and Prasad krishna who are both faster than almost all Asian bowlers never get picked. Pace plus bounce and variation.

There is no point in playing Dhawan, Rohit then. Just play some young team and get over with.

I agree but they are there for marketing reasons. Crowd won't watch if these players don't play. They put ***** on seats and also increase leadership.
Unfortunately cricket like most sports is corrupt.

When will India get rid of this Left Arm Trundler Quota & stop playing Khaleel? He's clearly not T20i material.

Agree it or not, Sundar is the future! The sooner we get him in ODIs, the better it is for India! What a talent!!

100%. next jaddu. also watch out for gowtham who is very impressive himself.

india will always have world class spinning all rounders. just need one pace bowling all rounder as well and then it's complete. Hopefully nagarkoti can be that guy.

BD has to produce strong big hitters. Otherwise they will waste any good start almost always.

If Bangladesh can get Rohit and Dhawan out early, they can defend 165. Rohit is key for India.

Sarkar is gone! Chahal gets two in one over.

BD should see him off and target other bowlers.

103/4 after 13 overs.

Which leg spinner did well in wc2019?

Wait and watch in next world cup that will happen in India.

I was talking about the next WC which is T20 he struggles against player who have enough power to clear the boundaries.

On India pitches he will be more effective but it would be better to just play Jadeja and Ashwin on India pitches will do even better than him.

Indian team for 2020 World T20 anounced!

Wicketkeeper - MS Dhoni

Remaining 15 names will be anounced in September.

No way. Chahal helped India win in SA. INdia beat OZ in OZ thanks to cHahal where he took sixfer. Ashwin/Jaddu are past by sell date. Chahal is still the no.1 leggie in the world.

he got taken to cleaners in the last WC, He was among the worst leg spinners in the WC and that too just as a specialist bowler.

BD's lack of fire power is clearly showing. Even in the last match bit of luck was needed to reach the modest target under 150. Their bowling is not that good to consistently restrict sides to that total.

Lets see the stats - was the worst bowler on show in that Semi

You do realize that was not exactly a spinners wicket right? You cannot bring in one off scenarios. he has consistently troubled all kind of batsmen across the globe. Also being an RCB player he bowls on the least spin friendly ground. He was the best last season.

I dont count domestic performances when I have international performances to judge by. Santaner proved how much assistance there was for spinners.

ER OF 6 and average of 36.83 compare to Imran Tahir 5 and 34. Even shadab who is more of an allrounder had better figures.

Depends on the type of surfaces you play. IN the matches he went for runs, it was hardly helping spinners. In the do or die match of England, Engalnd had short side boundaries with no help for spinners. He was a great wicket taker. Probably had a couple of bad games.
