Raina is one of the best T20 players in the world. He should not have been out of the team in the first place.

There are replacements, and they will be given chances once Dhoni. Unfortunately, Dhoni is hanging around so long so none have been given long run. Pant cannot be brought in straight away without getting proper practice. Hopefully After 2019 WC, Dhoni will be replaced by Pant or Samson in the LOI team.

Neither Iyer nor jadhav are ipl steady performers.

You want the finisher to be Dhoni in prime from start, that is never happening. Pandya will improve give him time. What we need is a better middle order, get KL and maybe pandey instead of rahane and jadhav and we will have a good team.

I haven't seen Pant play at all, but he has the numbers to back him up. A first class average of 50+ after 20 games as a 20 year old is no mean feat. On top of that he has been ok when playing a chance to play for India. We cant expect a player to be a world beater giving him 5 matches. Players like him need to given a longer run.

With Kohli at 3, Rahul at 4, Raina at 5, Dhoni at 6 and Pandya at 7, its a decent Middle Order. After WC, 19 replace Dhoni with Pant.

When playing in India, I would also try Krunal Pandya. I dont know about his bowling vs chahal and Kuldeep, but he could be handy when playing in India.
