India (174/4) secure a 6-wicket victory over Pakistan (171/5) in the Super Four clash of the Asia Cup 2025

“There are 9 pitches in the square at Dubai Stadium. The Pakistan vs India match is on the center pitch, the same one where both teams played on September 14.”

If they lose again then Rizwan and Babar should be brought back after Asia cup

PCB boss Mohsin Naqvi pulls strings in Dubai nets, Pakistan unleash secret stress-busting plan for India Asia Cup clash

A week after the controversy-marred showdown at Dubai International Stadium, India and Pakistan are set for a high-pressure Super Four Asia Cup clash at the same venue. Ahead of the big game, Salman Ali Agha’s side was cheered by PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who visited the nets on Saturday, while the team rolled out a stress-busting plan for the showdown.

Naqvi, who is also the head of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), visited the nets at the ICC Academy to interact with the squad and boost morale ahead of the match against India.

The Pakistan board also hired motivational speaker Dr Raheel Ahmed to counter the players' stress levels. According to a report in the PTI, Ahmed joined the squad after the end of Pakistan's Group A fixtures and has since been working closely with the support staff. He has already interacted with several young players, who have been struggling to cope with the intense psychological pressure of facing India, and has held one-on-one sessions with a few to identify the root causes of mental lapses in crunch situations.

Earlier, Pakistan also cancelled their pre-match press conference for the second time in a row in the Asia Cup, fueling speculation about the tense atmosphere within the camp.

Last Sunday, India beat Pakistan by seven wickets as the defending champions chased down 128 runs in 15.5 overs. However, the game was marred by the no-handshake storm. Indian players refused to shake hands with their Pakistan counterparts after the end of the game, with captain Suryakumar Yadav explaining that it was an act to show solidarity to the families of the 26 victims of the Pakistan-backed Pahalgam terror attack, which took place in April earlier this year.

The sight left PCB fuming. They held match referee Andy Pycroft responsible for the fiasco after the Zimbabwean suggested the two captains not shake hands at the toss. PCB demanded his removal and threatened the ICC with a pull-out, but their plea was rejected twice.

Pakistan came close to withdrawing from the tournament earlier this week, when the players were asked not to leave the hotel for the match against the UAE. After an hour-long delay, with PCB holding an elaborate meeting back home, the team was eventually handed a green signal for the match. Even as Pakistan secured a comfortable win to guarantee their position in the Super Four, PCB landed in trouble after a clip of Pycroft's meeting with the Pakistan camp in the match referee's room ahead of the start of the UAE game went viral on social media. ICC sent a strongly-worded email to the PCB accusing them of "multiple violations" of the PMOA protocol.

PCB had claimed that Pycroft apologised to Pakistan in that meeting, but the video was muted. ICC clarified that the 69-year-old merely suggested the meet-up to clear the air on what happened the previous Sunday in the match against India.

Haven’t seen more cocky attitude from any team or any set of fans.

I agree Pakistan have less than 1% chance but just hope they show some fight

They are the scums. Fans are the worst their ex players are the worst and their current players are the worst.

They suffer from inferiority complex. Losers of highest level.

Let’s not underestimate Pakistan team. We have some quality. It is 70:30 in favour of India

Man to Man in the playing eleven, bench, second eleven, A team and U19 team, India is a superior team. The gap between the two teams has badly widened after the IPL. The skillsets and talent gap bw the two teams is very wide. No amount of pep talk, motivation is going to mask it. To make things worse, the Pakistani team doesn't get the benefit of playing frequent bilateral cricket with India and hence the pressure of a Indo Pakistan contest magnifies on the Pakistani players who struggle to deal with the pressure and are shell shocked by the superior talent, skills of the Indian players.

PCB needs to identify the root cause of the problems ie the need to invest massively in bringing top tear coaches (maybe international) in our domestic cricket, academies, U19 and A team's and give them a 10 year plan, task them with preparing 100-200 world class modern players for Pakistan and training local coaches, professionalizing cricket at the grass root levels

Not much hype for this game here in India. There was certainly some buzz around the first game .

Just tells how much this fixture is surviving merely on novelty factor.

T20 is a funny format where you can bridge the gap through other ways. USA beat full strength Bangladesh twice in a bilateral series then went on to beat Pakistan. They even made India work harder. Tactical field set, tactical bowling for each specific batsman. Seen in many IPL games where average bowler has given troubles to world class batsmen. MS Dhoni for the majority of his career as IPL captain had an average team. But managed to win 5 titles. Getting something out of nobodies is an art. INdia has toppled big sides even in Tests with average players.

Honestly, if Pakistan bowls first and restricts India to under 175, they would be favourites on this Dubai pitch.

Besides India is not exactly an experienced unit. Saim Ayub 44 T20Is, Gill 24 T20Is, Abhishek 20 T20Is.. That is not a lot.

Heard Pakistani players were shouting 6-0 during net practice. These guys are unbelievable… they live, breathe, and eat fake news from social media just to create some temporary joy.

From 2019 to 2025, their catchphrases have gone from “Tea is fantastic” to now “6-0.”

Proper irresponsible country and team. 😂

We should never play cricket with them.

Salman Ali Agha is no MS Dhoni as captain. Have seen enough of him in the field as captain where he makes poor tactical calls, field placements and where he gives up when things don't go to plan.

Pakistan has not had a good tactical captain for a very long time which further exacerbate the skill, talent and confidence gap between the two teams.

The only practical plan for Pakistan is to be careful against Bhumrah and Kuldeep in their first 2-3 overs only putting the very very bad ball away and looking to play with good technique, defense and rotate strike but to absolutely murder the rest of the bowling attack. If they can execute this game plan successfully, it will give the team much needed confidence for future games against India that the Indian team too is mortal and can be countered with good intelligent cricket.

These Dalkhor Indians don't stand a chance against the Pakistani goshtkhor jaanbaazs. Victory is our way, inshallah! We will show them what they deserve just like Operation Banyan ul Maroos.

That is where Mike Hesson comes in. He has to do a bit of hand holding. He has wealth of knowledge about Indian players having worked with IPL team. He can offer some pointers. Role clarity is not with the set up. They don't havce answer for "what if " scenarios. Although India is world no.1 ranked side, bigger challenge for pakistan will be from SENA teams who have gun fielding units and bowlers who can give some chin music.

Why were Pakistan players shouting '6-0' during Asia Cup practice to taunt India?

The tension ahead of the Asia Cup 2025 Super 4 clash between India and Pakistan has reached a new high. Indian journalists covering the tournament in the UAE have claimed on social media that Pakistani players were shouting “6-0, 6-0” during a recent practice session in Dubai.

Why were Pakistan players shouting 6-0?

The chant is believed to be a reference to the Pakistan Air Force’s claims that they shot down six Indian fighter jets during the recent conflict following Operation Sindoor. The Indian Air Force has also made similar claims that they shot down at least five fighter jets and one large aircraft during the skirmishes in May.

The drama comes after Pakistan skipped the pre-match press conference again ahead of the Sunday game, continuing their protest over the handshake controversy from the group stage. In that match, India had dominated Pakistan in a one-sided victory and refused to shake hands with their opponents, citing the Pahalgam terror attack in April.

Following the first India-Pakistan clash, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) asked the International Cricket Council (ICC) to remove match referee Andy Pycroft, claiming bias towards India. The ICC rejected the request twice, forcing Pakistan to play their next group stage game against the UAE under the same official.

Despite all the controversies, Pycroft has again been appointed as match referee for the India vs Pakistan Super 4 clash.

They could have played Saud Shakeel just for this Asia cup as he is touted as better player against spin. He won't be worse than Agha will he?

I agree with the premise of your post but disagree with Dhoni having an average team.

CSK had been decked up with top quality players throughout Dhoni’s time, Watson, Hayden, Jadeja, Ashwin, Bravo, Dhoni, Raina, Murali etc all have been top quality players, especially in IPL.

Then you had players who were good for a couple of years, Hussey, Morkel, Vijay, bollinger, Faf, Tahir etc.

CSK always had a well rounded squad, never have they been average in any of their wins. People forget how good Raina, Dhoni and Bravo were, they were legit top 5 T20 players at certain points of their careers in IPL.

Ashwin was a nobody when starte dopening the bowling. Watson joined very alte in the piece after RCB discarded him due to poor performance. Raina was not a T20 legend when he started. They converted him. They converted M Vijay into a beastly hitter. They converted Ruturaj into an aggressive batsman. They converted DUbe into an aggressor. Role clarity is the reason. Lot of things were done in the back ground. Same players failed with RCB consistently.

I’d go as far as to say that if Pak win the toss and bowl first they’d be favourites. That’s how important the toss is going to be. Also puts into perspective the mindlessness of the earlier decision to bat first.

I don’t watch IPL anymore so can’t comment on Ruturaj, Dube etc.

But back in the day the players I mentioned all were great T20 players, they might have underperformed for other teams, but everyone knew they were beast T20 players and with right conditions and team environment will succeed.

Whether it’s CSK management or backend support staff which helped the players reach their full potential or it’s the players themselves who raised their game playing for CSK, the point was CSK’s squad was decked and was complete through initial years.

You can’t say they had an “average” squad.

Pakistan must win the powerplay in bowling. That's the only way to contain India.

Otherwise they'll be chasing a 200+ target

Ya. team tries to figure out what is good score what is bad score and ends up putting a slightly lesser score or par score. I think they have to score slightly above par as batting gets easier in the 2nd half. Basically par score is not a good score here.

If it matters to Troll, the reality behind 6-0.

Players werent referring to the factual incident which happened few months back. Basically they were playing football, and after each goal they were screaming the scores. They shouted by 5-0, 6-0, 7-0, and then 7-1 also. But offcourse media had to pick 6-0 ONLY.

That is why. CSK polished out of form players, players who were unfit for the format like no team did. They used the most average seam attack in IPL. Most of them were virtual nobodies. They would have one Australian seamer surrounded by some mediocre no name Indian seamers.

For the few seasons I followed I was very much a CSK fan. Dhoni was one reason but so were all the players like hussey, faf, jaddu, bravo and also to an extent Srinivasan lol :srini

But at the end of the day it was CSK’s success that made them irresistible.

CSK, RCB and KKR have an actual passionated fan base.

Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan used to have turncoat fans, no one really cared about the team just individual players.

Mumbai I think have a decent fan base as well but it felt it’s not as passionate as the first three teams.

Hyderabad was also kinda meh.

CSK did a masterstroke by taking Dhoni, he made billions for the owners.

Even if they said 6-0 referring to the smackdown earlier this year, what business is it of anyone else?

I think the India cement connection and all that actually made the club more ‘glamorous’ lol don’t want to derail thread

This an amazing stat why Pakistan puts up way below par scores against big teams. Just smashes minnows sometimes.
Their six hitting has improved. Also dot ball percentage. Net gain = zero. Their dot ball % is not exclusive against big teams. They have high dot ball % even against smaller teams

That’s my point, their players always had an upside which CSK managed to get out of them for whatever reason.

An average team is like the current Pakistani team, you give peak Dhoni the current Pakistani squad in CSK and they still ain’t reaching IPL playoffs in any season.
