India (176/7) crowned champions of ICC T20 World Cup 2024 after a 7 runs victory against South Africa (169/8)

I have not seen any evidence of demons in this pitch. It surely is a good pitch to chase on. But this is a World Cup final. Someone has to play a blinder in SAF - to calm the nerves of the chase.

Don’t understand the hate for Kohli from Indians here.. he is a legend of the game and an ATG.. i would trade 10 babars for him.
Yeah man. I would trade Zimbabar for axar Patel let alone legend Virat Kohli

After such a horror start that we had, this final score of 176 looks so good.

The pitch appears to be a good one for batting with occasional ball stopping/spinning (watched the game only post 11 overs).

Now hoping for a disciplined bowling/fielding performance from our lads.

No 180+ score yet, in the history of IT20 final.

176 is more than enough to win. Yes pitch is good and boundaries are not the biggest here. India’s bowling variety is too much to defend this score.

Australia or England would have chased it down but SAF with their ability to choke won’t chase it down. Also, India has good bowlers who bowl well even if there is little help from the pitch.

Score is already too much on this wicket and especially with India's great bowling attack

Gonna be a easy victory for India. Sad for South Africa.
Nothing wrong with wicket here.Axar and Kohli partnership took the score more than what it should have been after India lost 3 wickets, but SA has to go big in the first 6 overs.

SA can bat well and win this. it's not going to be one of those where other team collapsed and you get a win.

Axar made a difference as it allowed Kohli to hold one end without taking any risk while Dube also played a fine cameo.

South Africa need to trust their game. This is a good batting pitch. There is no reason why a batting order with that kind of firepower can't chase it down. Yeah its a pretty good total. But it could have been far bigger. This is where South Africa's mental game will truly be tested.

Win the toss bat first and win the match.
That's the template in these day games.

There is just enough turn on this pitch to make it interesting for the spinners. Indian bowlers will use the breeze to their advantage. Bowling full is a NO NO. Anything on lengthnis not easy to hit

We are about 15-20 runs below par for this kind of pitch and field. But this is a big occasion and it is will test SA's nerves.
I have no problem with the way India played this game even if they lose. We had an attacking mindset from the get go but it didn't pay off and we threw away our wickets.

Jansen really did save his worst for last. Absolute liability with the ball today and could never get it right against Kohli.

QdK failing in a crucial game is almost written in stone.

Only the law of averages can save QdK.

This match is only for Miller to win.

Incidentally, this is the highest score in a T20 WC final.
Would be monumental for SA if they can chase it.

- 72* (44) in the 2014 Semi Final.
- 77 (58) in the 2014 Final.
- 89* (47) in the 2016 Semi Final.
- 50 (40) in the 2022 Semi Final.
- 78 (59) in the 2024 Final.

VIRAT KOHLI - THE MAN FOR BIG STAGES...!!!!

SA best chance to win is to just go for it in the first 6 overs and bring RR down to 8. Batting surface looks good and no reason for SA to not chase this.

SA still needs to bat well, but pitch is good.
Yeah they need to get ahead of the game. de Kock has to step-up and take the initative

Thankfully Sharma got out quick otherwise score would have been 200 plus and game done.

We need to shut down q de K, miller, klaasen , aiden....
We need dots first up ..
Need tigerish fielding...
Am so worried for Arshdeep....he's got nothing on such a pitch...
Maharaj said in interview...pitch is got better...
C'mon boyzzzz...one big push ...

Match will be decided in PP.

Thsts misleading from Harsha. Aus chased down 170 odd against us with overs to spare in 2021.

Anyway, good to see a good surface in finals here. I did not want to see variable bounce.

India's spinners will still be a major threat on this wicket against South African batters, who have been very suspect against spin

About 15-20 runs short. But no worries, time to pull out all the stops and give it all we got.

Lol reeza Hendricks with strike rate of 87 ahahhah.
He is South africa's Zimbabar and actor rizwan.

Arsh is good against lefties with ball leaving. With the breeze helping him, he is key to getting DeKock

this is a batting paradise. 176 is defendable only if Kullu and Bumrah bowl really well

The ball is swinging into right hand batsmen. He bowled slow wide one

If this was Aus, indian fans would be saying it's 20-30 short and Aus will win with ease.

Only reason they aren't is because SA aren't mentally tough and are known to crumble.

This is as near a South African pitch .

Get to 6 overs with 10 wickets, will be easy to then on
