India (181/9) defeat England (166) by 15 runs to claim the 5-match T20I series by an unassailable lead of 3-1

This concussion substitute is suitable for rugby. NOt cricket. So they should scrap the rule. It is total waste of time trying to add more fine prints to this rule

Yeah, it's a dodgy rule that's difficult to manage.

I understand their fear of players pushing through concussion symptoms but the best approach is to have a strict concussion protocol in place. If anything seems off, the player is done for the game.

Just play with 10 players + a fielding sub.

Manjrekar in cricinfo pointed out a good scenario for rana's inclusion.India may have argued they wanted to bowl 4 overs of pace from dube as its a pacy pitch. Dube have bowled in 100s of matches ( all formats irrespective of his ineffectiveness)as a proof.Since ramandeep but can't bowl 4 overs , they had a good argument for inclusion of pacer(who is more recognised as bowling all rounder ) for 4 overs.I personally think someone exploited the loop hole quite intelligently and tied match referee hands.Icc should be more proactive on this cases going forward .

This is the problem. Teams can exploit this loophole endlessly.

India can easily argue that they will be short changed if they get Ramandeep who is a much inferior bowler to Dube.

This needs to be nipped in the bud

Especially if the injured player is an all rounder it gives you more latitude. You can literally go with a batsman who can bowl a bit or bowler who can bat a bit. It is impossible to find a player matchign the exact skill. Both Jadeja and Axar are all rounders. Even though they are similar one can easily say Axar is a better ball striker. Skill level is not going to be the same

Rule is rule and it worked in India's favour but icc needs to change it a bit.

E.g., dube has played almost 35 matches and bowled less than 50 overs that makes his avg about 1.3 overs per match almost.

Which shows he is a part timer not a regular bowler and his replacement is a bowling all-rounder who usually will bowl full quota

Imo concussion injuries should not be given an exception. If you have a player who gets hit by the short ball, the bowling team should benefit from the opposition players' inability to handle it.

Only fielding subs should be allowed.

Treat this like any other injury. End of discussion. Fielding subs are there anyway for other injuries. THey exploit it anyways by fake injuring slow moving players.

India's win in this game is tainted.

They won like how Triple H used to win during early-2000's.

I wouldn't feel right about this win.
