India (219/6) defeat Sri Lanka (215) by 4 wickets to win the 2nd ODI - Win series 2-0

Then who will be the 6th bowler? SKY is in competiontion with Shreyas (and with KL if Ishan plays). Venkatesh Iyer is the closest replacement for Hardik.

A fast bowling AR is good only if he is someone who can guarantee either runs or bowl some overs every match. By bowling i dont mean by simply turning his arm over. Pandya is not a genuine No 6 batsman and he is not a bowler who can bowl 10 overs.

If India cannot find an AR then tough luck, they had ample time to find and groom someone since 2019. Instead they put all their eggs in one Pandya basket.

SL have been quite poor in ODI for quite a while now. They even lost against Bangladesh and almost lost against Zimbabwe too.

They need an ODI revamp.

Which other series did they win recently? They lost almost all.

They have been a poor ODI side for a while. They are better in Test and T20.

They played 3 series in 2022. Won against Zim and Aus, Drew with Afg ( rain saved Afg in the second match )

Has Pandya proved his match fitness by playing in domestic List A? If not, why is he given a free ride in the team so that he can decide he is available and get drafted straight to the first 11?

Pretty sure he is eyeing ODI captaincy also. :inti

Zimbabwe series was 2-1. It could've gone either way. Zimbabwe beat Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka before that (3-2).

It is very hard to beat India in India in a ODI series even against washed up side. Especially Sri lanka. Srilanka has never won a bilateral series in India even with Jayasuriya, Mahela, Sangakkara, Malinga, Murali. This is 11th bilateral in India between these sides. India has won 10. One was drawn.

BCCI is thinking in terms of making him our captain in both LoI formats. If not for Rohit, he'd have been appointed as our LoI captain by now.

That's how poor BCCI has been!

Pandya can't even play all ODIs & T20s we play during the year and he is being thought of as our full time LoI captain!

And whenever he plays, he is neither good enough as a bowler nor as a batsman. And he isn't a safe fielder either for quite some time now.
