With Rayudu out, Karthik seems to be in too. They will just play Dhoni at 4 if Karthik is pegged as a finisher

I know Chahal is an awful fielder and his batting is, well....

I'd still pick him ahead of Jadeja as a pure bowler though.

Disgraceful from Dhoni. He wants to play top level cricket but won't play any cricket besides IPL and international games.

It all depends on Hardik. To.make up for 1 Hardik, India has to move two or three pieces. A pacy , hitting AR with gun Fielding and a clutch player

They said Rayadu was #4 until the WC and dropped him (correctly) after 2 failures. '

Almost certain they will play Gill in the middle order in NZ at some point.

I would too. KulCha need to get back to their best for us to dictate terms in middle overs.
 
Chahal is so bad with bat that his dream is to hit a single maximum in international cricket. :))

Too many hacks in Australia lineup. Khawaja is the biggest of them. From being world champ to being same level as Bangladesh now in ODI.

Bangladesh is a superior team than the current Australia and Pakistan LOI teams. Bangla is the only team that competed well against India in the last couple of years. I would pay to watch a competitive match between India and Bangladesh than against these poor Aussies and depleted Pak attacks.

Chahal, Kuldeep, Bumrah - 3 match winners for India. Bhuvi is a nice complement alongwith Pandya.

Maxwell is technically not a sound player. Moving him up the order may be suicidal. He has a lot of holes in his batting.
 
India need 231... to win the series.

Do Aussies have the bowling firepower to take out the top 3 early...that's their only chance

Jadeja should be in squad as backup bowler & 1st choice substitute fielder at any cost! Because he can straight away come to groove in any match if some bowler is injured! (his usual effectiveness) But he should not be in the 1st playing XI (LOIs I mean!)

Yes I definitely care about a series win against any team at home and overseas. We are playing without Bumrah, Pandya and with oldies and a newbie making a debut. Winning this series will still be a great achievement in Aus. I hate seeing India lose to any opposition!
 
Very slow start, courtesy Dhawan. Though you've to say this pitch doesn't seem to be conducive to strokeplay.

It will be India's first bilateral series win in Australia against Australia, so of course it is a little special.

Rayudu and Jadeja being dropped is great too. Now just need Dhoni out.
 
Every series victory for me is special, specially away from home.

I meant that Jadeja should be dropped soon due to his mediocre performance and how Chahal did. Kuldeep should be back soon, even Kohli isn't stupid enough to keep him out of the team.
 
Although not quite the elephant like Dhoni, Dhawan is becoming atleast a chihuahua in the room.
 
Dhawan never looked comfortable in the entire series! Worrying signs! His form is very crucial for WC.
 
Banking on Vijay Shankar and Karthik again! Must be a repeat of Nidahas Trophy final again!
