India (285/9d & 98/3) crush Bangladesh (233 & 146) by 7 wickets in the 2nd Test match to clean sweep the series 2-0

People complain that these small town venues like Kanpur, Ranchi shouldn't get to host test cricket but they don't realise that crowd always comes to watch and support test cricket in such venues. It's nice to see great crowd to watch 4th day of test match on a Monday. It won't happen in any major test venue.
 
Don't like field placings by hitman....
cmon yaar, get all 11 guys around the batsman....get them yapping at the batsman...be more aggressive

What India has done today with their batting is nothing less than unbelievable. They didn't bat 35 overs and they have taken a lead of 50+, scoring close to 9 rpo. It feels impossible in a test match.



Then look at Bangladesh, after 9.4 overs, they are 26/2 and struggling to survive.



Huge huge contrast.

Batted like abolute Diwali ka rockets out of a milk bottle
bowled again with good positivity....
We've done the running here and deserve to win....
However, anything possible - tommorw- wicket is flat kanpur typical...
I liked the fact that our guys came out of their comfort zone and when challenged, responded so positively.
If we play cricket like this, we will surely bring backsides on seats...
an Xciting day's play for tommorow in store.

Excellent summary. Lot of respect for the way the Indian team management and the team itself has approached this - turning what looked like a dead game into something to really look forward to on the last day.
 
A game that should've been dead and buried has suddenly come alive.

This is the beauty of Test cricket. T20 can't offer this.

Bangladesh have improved in Test format. Drew against New Zealand both home and away also.

It is just that India are very strong currently.

true there have been some improvements to your side but today's events shows the gap in quality

We certainly can bowled out them before tea. Ashwin is too hot to handle the we he is bowling, Needs support from others bowlers also .

Tomorrow is when we might regret not playing Kuldeep. He could've been deadly seeing how Mehidy and Ashwin bowled. There's not much in it for the quicks especially after the roller tomorrow.

Still Ashwin and Jadeja are perfectly capable of bowling 70-80% of the overs between them. Tat should be enough threat plus the match situation becomes a twelfth player in such circumstances constantly playing on the batters minds whether to stonewall or bat naturally.

India's terrific all-round show on Monday means that they could get a result from the game on the fifth and final day. Led by Jasprit Bumrah's 3 for 50, India first bundled out Bangladesh for 233 runs as the side resumed at 107 for 3. The hosts then went out all guns blazing and declared their innings at 285 for 9 in 34.4 overs with a lead of 52 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal shone with a 51-ball 72, while Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz were the star bowlers for Bangladesh with four wickets each to their credit. It was sensational batting on display from India as the side registered the fastest 50, 100, 150, 200, and 250 runs in the history of Test cricket. Before stumps, Ravichandran Ashwin struck twice to reduce Bangladesh to 26 for 2.

That is pretty accurate an assessment. whatever happens tommorow, defo some big +ves for Bangladesh.
 
No game is dead or done when BD is playing. They are the only team capable of losing inside 2 days of play.

Their batting approach was so bad. All they needed to do was bat out 30 more overs and score around 275.

In all these years of playing, they haven't produced a single good opener. This is Mominul best ever innings tho.

India is good and too at home we all know that. Yeah BD bowling especially pace bowling with Ibadot, Shoriful. Taskin, Rana, Mahmud has improved in test but batting is still shocking on flat track when wicket was good to bat on the batters gift many wickets with silly glory shots. No excuses, they are still pathetic with poor game awareness, no application no grit. One or two wins or draws here and there against higher ranked side once in a blue moon doesnt mean theyve gone up level. Bangladesh still cant bat accordingly in test cricket.
 
Bangladesh will get out for 150runs and India will chase the runs with 10wicket
 
Rain affected games are always dangerous for BD. They are always batting in the morning sessions with useless openers.

A draw is an L for both teams. If BD apply themselves tomorrow and counterattack they still may have decent chance at a lead.

Bowling has improved but it is still nothing to write home about. Look at all the fast bowlers averages. Batting biggest woe is the useless openers BD has been mustering all these years.

It's sad watching this openers when the best opener for the country by a mile is thrown out of the team for internal politics.

For guys like Crawley, Buckett it became a necessity rather than a choice as they did not boast greatest of defensive technique. This shot a ball approach paid them more dividends.
 
Morne Morkel reveals India's mindset after two days got washed off in Kanpur Test:

"That was our message this morning, you know, with losing two days of the match...that positive intent was going to be key. Two days left in the Test, there is still a lot of cricket and it was important to show that intent. The way the boys went to the ball up-front, it was incredible to see. We created the pressure (with the ball) and brought wickets, and then to show the intent with the bat was awesome,"

"I don't think as a bowling unit, they expected that to happen. It was always a part of our game plan to see, how we can push this going forward. And how we can get the winning result,”

“It's never nice losing time and days. I knew the boys sitting around the hotel, that was sort of very frustrating. why do you say that? i think indian pitches are great depending on location. you have turning ones. flat piches
you have bouncy pitches with turn as well.

unless you only like swing bowling then yes england would be better. we dont get swing in india. very rarely.
 
For god sake Star the match 30 minutes early or atleast 15 minutes instead at the evening when light will be not good enough
 
I did not watch this test but what a cracking effort from India to force a result in 2 days. I may try to see till lunch. It's hard due to being EST time zone.

India can pull off a miracle win here if they manage to get Bangladesh out before lunch otherwise it could be a draw that will be the best result for Bangladesh.
 
Postive Star from Bangladesh .they also need to believe that we can win the match by setting 180 odd runs target.
 
This is over attacking field set. We need to also control runs at the same time.
