India [303/6] beat South Africa [179] by 124 runs in the 3rd ODI to take 3-0 series lead

It is quite obvious to any neutral watcher that South Africa don't care about this ODI series. They wanted to win the tests and thrashed India in the first two games. Then they took their foot of the gas and in the third test were unlucky to bat last on a treacherous wicket. They could have easily declared their innings on such a dangerous wicket as they have anyways won the series, but they knew Indians would start crying like they always do.

Clearly those injuries were a factor here as well, and only 2 of their first 11 players were chosen today. This is a hollow victory if there ever was one.

De kock couldn't buy a run to save his life lol Morkel got his *** kicked in the first two matches. Even ABDV was clueless in the third test. Amla a joke too. THere is absolutely nobody there that could put up a fight bar Fauf in one match. India absolutely thrashed them not edged them. They played like no.1 ranked team. not no.6th ranked team.

So ABD who played defining innings in the first two tests somehow was clueless in an outright dangerous wicket in the worst batting conditions out there. Amla who played the best knocks of the third test is a joke?

What does it make your team then? Ghar ki sher. All that big talk of how you were going to beat SA in tests, got handed back with interest in the first two matches. Test series victories matter. And you lost. Accept it gracefully and move on.

I do not get it. Why were South Africans playing leg spin as if they were facing it for the first time? Both of these bowlers, while good, are not mystery spinners. They are not bowling some alien spinning deliveries. They have Shamsi and Tahir, two spinners much like Yadav and Chahal but they still are beyond amateurish in this series. I can cut them some slack for Yadav but Chahal is a quality but conventional leggie. Just weird.

I can understand their perplexity against Kuldeep as he is not a run of the mill type bowler. Against chahal given that they have Imran is surprising. I saw some of the most amaturish batting. That guy zondo completely waited for the ball to finish the turn then touched. He couldn't buy a run with that approach.

Though this win appears a team effort, admittedly on the bowling front, the batting looks real weak with dead wood duo dhoni and jadhav. A strong team like England will expose these guys again. Also, it is so sad and surprising to see kohli's backing with one-handed performances. If kohli excuses himself for 1-2 series every year atleast, these guys would be pressured to perform, although they are well past it, or perish. And good that Ind lost to Pak in CT, hopefully we will never see, the all at sea overseas ashwin near the odi team overseas and in India atleast. Pandya should focus on batting and try to score than on fb or twitter followers. Hopefully he will learn.

Yes! That is indeed Dhoni!

Hmm, his voice sounded much deeper in interviews. Maybe its different when you have to shout. I think in the current Indian team Pandya and Rahul (to an extent) have the manliest of voices.

If you dig deeper you'll find that Tahir and Chahal although both leggies are quite different from each other.

Tahir bowls flat and quicker, If I am not wrong he bowls on avg from 85Km to 93Km. Tahir doesn't flight the ball as much as Chahal does, thus it becomes easier to play him as medium pacer (ofc there is the googly).

On the other hand, Chahal bowls real slow and flights the ball, which gets lot of revs and turn. It also enticed batsmen to play against the turn and end up playing poor shot (we saw few in today's game as well). Chahal bowls around 78Km to 83Km range, much slower than Tahir.

Apart from both being leggies there isn't much similarities between the two.

India are really good, beating SA in SA 3-0. Even if SA had some players missing, we couldn't replicate this performance. Shadab alone couldn't do it, and our batsmen would really struggle to reach 200. It would be interesting to see how (bad) we perform later this year.

Replace Jadhav and Dhoni with KL Rahul and Manish Pandey and this team will look a lot stronger. Right now , this batting lineup is in Kohli or bust' mode.

It seems men in blue got inspired by boys in blue, so far winning the matches comfortably.

Nah. Our top 3, along with the bowling is papering over the cracks. our MO is really weak. We are lucky that Kohli is in the form he is. Our Middle order will collapse to less than 200 if our top3 get out for less than 50.

That's the thing, the top 3 perform more often than not, and thus you don't see India fall for under 200 too often in ODIs, apart from the CT final. So indeed, there's always room for improvement, perhaps in the middle order too? However, your top 3 will often lay the platform, whereas our bottom 3 build the platform but then we have nothing to add to it.

India has lot of new young talents coming through. When these guys made debut they didn't mind making debut at early age. When noobs comes they say they have to wait. Honestly selectors should make it a point to introduce special talents at the right time. Letting go through the same rigors as some of the lesser talented batsmen is counter productive.

Can't believe.....in spite of all the batting talent in the country, our middle order has gone down from Yuvraj and Raina to Kedar Jadhav!

Drop kedar for iyer plz.Iyer was in form, why drop him?
Rahane ..lets wait and watch.Pandey, rahul can be alternative options.
Dhoni needs to stay, just because of the way he keeps to our spin twins.A young inexperienced keeper against 2 wrist spinners will likely make a mess.As a batsman we can't rely on him as a match winner anymore but an experienced veteran support batsman. The alternaties - samson is an opener and pant is a hack.
