India (314 & 145/7) defeat Bangladesh (227 & 231) by 3 wickets - India win series 2-0

My honest opinion

Neither team played great cricket. Both teams played very ordinary cricket overall but Bangladesh perform slightly worse. I am not bothered about India, but it is good that we did not win the game because we frankly did not play good cricket.

Our victory in NZ was special and it was deserved. We played excellent cricket in foreign conditions without key players and we absolutely dominated the opposition in all three facets.

The Dhaka test we were in the game only because India played some ordinary cricket and filled with players that seemed disinterested. Good we didn't win

After India's 3-wicket win over BD in 2nd Test

There's no need to penalty and points if winning percentage is the key to final lol..

A fine test match. India got out of jail thanks to the lower order.

everybody knows sun rises in the east, water is wet, new bowlers should be introduced to replace older ones eventually. the thing is you've asked for 3 test debutants in AUS series. and now you say you don't wanna fire the current ones as well. india will also pick 3 or 4 spinners/spinning allrounders, extra keeper and extra batsmen. you think they'll select 20 member squad?:facepalm
umran is just getting his T20I career started and hasn't had a good time in 7 First class matches he has played. hangargekar has played 2 FC matches, i repeat 2. i am all for trying new bowlers but they need at least some FC experience before being in test squad.
i don't smoke but even if i did i would think & post better than you did:ashwin

dude - no one cares for your water is wet whatever analogy...
Once again you've put your foot in your mouth before reading properly, which must be an easy task considering your mouth size and the quality of what u post. I never said again - that all those i named should be selected all at once, in the same series and obviously, you can only select so much in a series - try running that sun rises in the east analogy between your ears this time. Shami, Ash, ishant, jads, umesh are in the same age bracket and will be leaving soon ...(unless they get an awesome second wind like Anderson) , if we do not intro youngsters at regular intervals, suddenly we will have talent drain a sort of vaccuum. we have to start picking these youngsters soon - Umraan is 24 - an out and out quick - we should'n be wasting his prime 3 years when we have someone of this pace. Kuldeep Sen is 25 played about 2 full seasons of Ranji/irani and also a few List A matches. Should we wait till these guys are geriatric? The same applies to Che pu/virat/jinks/hitman who will be going in one big go - should'nt we be investing in youngsters preferably LH like yashvi jaiswal, washi sunder and the like?
Had you replied to my original post with a tad more humility without the one-upmanship this could have been a more fruitful discussion minus the negativity.

again, the theory of replacing the seniors gradually with new & younger players, i fully agree it, but that is a known thing why even bother saying it again and again. by that i mean no use of reciting rhetoric so we can just discuss specific names, as we did.
i've agreed about kuldeep sen, he can be given a go. umran is 23yrs & 1 month old. i like his bowling a lot but he can surely gain some red ball experience by playing a year of ranji, duleep trophy etc. no need for 3 years, at least 1 good domestic year. hangargekar as played just 2 FC games as i said. there are some other domestic bowlers like mukesh kumar, chintan gaja who have done well in the recent past. selectors might initially give a go to bowlers like those, which is how unadkat got the call back. although i am not a big fan of him.
in batting, iyer performing well has to keep jinks out of the team despite the latter's good recent domestic form. there are many good new batsmen in form in domestic like yashaswi, dhull, kunnumal, baba indrajith, sarfaraz etc but the management is just not willing to drop KL. i would be happy even if they gave gill a go in place of KL i.e rohit-gill opening. kohli needs to go back to domestic for red ball, but who is going to ask him to do that? maybe if he fails in BGT too. all in all i would be happy if they have 1 new batsman and 1 new bowler in the 15, either of them getting a place in playing 11 is a bonus.
i would've replied normally as i usually do, but as i said your post on IPL, after reading that i had to have a poke at you. i just HAD TO.

India crawled over the line in the end but it was far too squeaky, and a bad win really. They got out of jail with this one.

Bangladesh played a decent match but could not finish the job. They’ll give a fair few teams a good game at home, but they had that result in the palm of their hands at 74/7 & their inability to get over the line in tight Test matches is something that they need to address as a team.

News is that end of Russell Domingo is near. Thank you Shreyas and Ashwin!

I am not a big fan of Domingo but what can he do if Mominul drops a sitter at a crucial stage?

Coaches can be replaced. But, players have to do better too.
