What's new

India (329) defeat England (322/9) by 7 runs to win 3rd ODI - Win series 2-1

Problem with Kurnal is, he will rarely get runs but will go for runs at 6+ almost every game.

Am i missing something .Why have wood bowl less overs

He seems to be struggling. Spent time off the pitch in the middle overs and is "grimacing" between balls and receiving drinks support at the end of each over... comms saying similar.

Poor from Krunal. Jadeja is better than him in every thing required in cricket.

Credit to England. They really pulled back the game in their favor which was getting out of hand when Pant and Pandya were batting. Anything under 350 is highly chaseable for England provided they don't throw their wickets away like they did in the 1st ODI

The other Pandya's innings might just have sunk India.

In his 34 ball knock , krunal didn't even hit a single boundary but will concede 2 sixes per over with the ball

To be able to hit in last 10 overs when fielding team finally gets to have 5 fielders outside the circle, you need wickets in hand. Without wickets in hand you cannot make good use of last 10 overs.

Actually scoring runs from overs 10 to 40 is now easier than 40 - 50, which is another reason why we see so many 350 games.

Wood takes his 3rd wicket. Shows what a blunder it was by Buttler to not bowl him when both Pandya and Pant were smashing their spinners. :inti

Getting all out gir below par score after showing intent is better than posting below par score with tons of resources unspent.

We are 50 runs short of winning score today.

India tried to follow the English tempelate today and rightly so because they have the capacity. But they've fallen a 30-40 runs short.
I think kohli is no longer the same batsman as he was couple of years ago.

Decent score but a far cry from what they were looking at.

India were in a position to bat England out of the game when Pant and Pandya were at the crease.

That was a bit of an awkward and downbeat interview....

And that's the reason he is getting a lot of hate now from same Indian fans who used to worship him. Story of every Indian great these days. :inti

India only scored 210 after 40 overs in the last game and still ended up getting 336
Today reached almost 290 after 40 but couldn't get 330

Forget Kohli, a lot of fickle fans even turned against the great Sachin during the time he was struggling with his injuries in 2005/06.

Another good job by England's premier spinners. Moeen bowled 6 terrific overs before he came up against the opposition's best six-hitter. Rashid will always be expensive but pick up crucial wickets, which is what he did today.

Had England not got those four wickets quickly, India would have been looking at 380, if not 400.

India missed a trick by not promoting Hardik after 100 run start, like Eng promoted Stokes last game

Would have taken care of Moeen

Mark Wood bowled like a champ. Wasn’t match fit, but kept running in.

Curran needs to go.

You can criticise him just like I can criticise Pant/Pandya but some people were criticising him for losing tosses and calling him a panauti lol. :inti

yeah agree there

only his batting is to be criticised.

btw Pant/Pandya are the only one batting with England like fearless aprroach

Good total by India, as ever Eng will require another fast start, can't be relying on bhai further down to bat them out of trouble ;)

I actually think kohli has been batting the worst of the lot in terms of intent. But obviously iyer cant take his spot so....
He is. Most pathetic part about Kohli though is that his bluster still hasn't gone anywhere. It's still intact. Would have paid him better dividends had he remained bit more humble at least during these times.

Early wickets are always good and we have been starved of them since forever.

329 not a walk in the park. Still got to balance the chase.

Definitely a game on, especially with that early strike.
