What's new

India [332 & 106/2] beat Australia [300 & 137] by 8 wickets in the fourth Test, win series 2-1

Malcolm Yadav is on fire this innings!!! Imagine him playing on a bit helpful pitches... He could have been more than decent..

Really missed Shami Vs Smith , but well played , looked unbetable ....finally unnecesary shot got ...but bouncers and short pitch bowling coupled with restriction ...and ego shot...got him...

Anyone who has watched Umesh over the past few series will know that he is a different bowler now. Getting better and better with every match.

Always liked him..A hard working lad..Have gained a lot of confidence and control..One can see the transformation...

Role of captain as well may be???

Australia are missing Starc dearly on a pitch like this. His handy runs down the order and firey spells wouldve been game changing for sure!

Yadav has been on a different zone in this series.Brilliant From him.

This series has been exceptional, barring the attitude trouble which is fun too in a way. Really fun to watch

He is getting us wicket with the new ball which is the primary role of a fast bowler.

Both have their own issues mate...One goes missing in home matches, other one abroad.

You can't carry a non performing captain for long..Kohli is best we have got imo.

I liked Kohli as a captain when he took over from Dhoni but off late I feel he lets his emotions get better off him. And I believe both Rahane and Pujara are good enough to improve their performance at home and away respectively.

Still would not count Australia out of the contest yet.

The pitch will retain something for the fast bowlers, and the variable bounce will also get worse as the cracks widen. So long as they get one decent partnership, they can put up a score which will prove tricky for India in the 4th innings.

I hope Rahane doesn't over do Yadav and Kumar.. Keep them fresh for shorter spells.

Time to bring some spin.

They've only bowled 6 overs with the new ball :))

Last game of the season, Kumar hasn't played much. Keep bowling them while they're bowling well and the ball is still new.

Yup.

Anything over 150 is gonna swing either ways.

Kumar is fine but Umesh has been bowling his hearts out..Lots of effort balls..Nothing wrong in resting him for few overs

Game over . . considering smith has been the only consistent australian batsman in the series . . India to win by 7 or 8 wickets

For Australia to have any chance, they need a minimum of 250 lead . . which ain't gonna happen

Renshaw had such a great start to the series and looked the second most assured Australian batsmen but he seems to have really messed his numbers now as the series is over.

Is Shaun Marsh injured or something?Haven't followed this match well. Will he come to bat later?

80 more runs and India wont be able to chase the total, we are playing 4 genuine batsmen 2 tail enders and rest the bowlers. Karun Nair I am leaving with one of the bowlers in terms of batting...

Ashwin vs Maxwell would be fun

As I write this, what a catch from Rahane

Nothing more painful than being dismissed for 1?

How about 0? lol

Ashwin's bowling looks so ordinary. Absolutely no effort behind the deliveries.

Gotta be one of the best series.....neither side giving anything away :smith:kohli2

Wow..What a match this is going!

If Australia have to put a fighting total, they need 90 runs more.

Jadeja and Ashwin (this man mainly) should take the responsibility now. They should make sure that wickets are taken and runs are also not scored. Kuldeep can be used sparingly for 2 or 3 overs here and there. Kuldeep should be the guy who should be used more in first innings (flat surfaces) to avoid opposition taking early advantages!

Australia need another fifty from Wade. Get hundred more runs to make it interesting.

Is this the mythical 'ideal' test pitch? Some swing, more seam, some spin and plenty of carry for spinners and seamers alike. Fast outfield, small ground and thin mountain air to balance it for the batsmen.

India in the driving seat, but would not count this match as over yet.

Wade made a good fifty in the first innings, and will bat well with Maxwell. They key on this pitch, I guess, is the intent. If you sit and try and survive, you will get on ewith your name on it, whilst allowing the bowlers to build up rhythm and pressure.

What Maxwell is currently doing and what Jadeja did well is to keep the runs ticking, and the bowlers guessing. You have to be busy whilst batting.

India still have a lot of work to do too.

Australia are literally 60/5 and have Maxwell and Wade at the crease. Both dangerous batsmen and capable of scoring a lot of runs quickly.

India are a bit ahead, but the Australians can equal this game if they score 50 more without losing a wicket.
