Well why should Kohli give England the chance of scoring runs quickly and fasten up the game.
Atleast they were aggressive with field settings despite going for runs.
England, even though they will win this have been a tad negative. They should have enforced the follow on.

Wouldn’t India get negative points for low over rate and thus affect their chances to WTC final?
 
This is loser mentality. India is hard place to tour so when you have chance why not try go 1-0.

If India draw this test, they will get only 10 points for WTC.
 
Any idea why Buttler is tuk tuking? India is happy bowling the negative line outside leg stump and slow the game. The onus lies on Eng to take the initiative as they are on top.
 
England deserve to lose the match for their timid approach post tea. Seems they are trying to ensure that India don't have enough time to go for the runs.

I think they will give India only 12/14 over this evening so an hour to bat.
 
I think england have rishabh pant and sundar on their minds , thats why reluctant to declare.

England are tiring Indian bowlers as a long term approach for this series. This is fantastic strategy from England. The focus is not just to win this game but series also.
 
England need atleast 110 overs here at india. England need to bat 5 more overs and declare.
 
They should bat for no more than 7 more overs and look to score about 40-50 runs. Give India a target of about 450 with 110 overs to bowl.
 
The decision to not enforce the follow-on looking worse by the minute here. This defensive approach is self-sabotage.

But apart from Ashwin, all of them are replaceable. And subcontinental spinners are used to bowling very long spells. Its not as hard as fast bowlers bowling 140 kph spells after a long run up.
 
Vicious turn and bounce. Much more than what was on show at Karachi or Pindi. How does that work - soil? Or weather i.e. hot conditions in Chennai.
 
It is very clear the English team want to rule out the possibility of an Indian win and hence are batting out max overs. It is not a bad strategy. It might seem timid to a few, but it is what it is..

Man, I hope we get a result in this one. Both WI/BD and Pak/SA were a great advertisement for test cricket

If this was Pakistan, Buttler would have been batting at 50(36).

He is deliberately playing slowly to keep the IPL contract and that's why he is also running away after 1st test.

How the hell was that pad first lol umpiring has been very good but this was a howler even third umpire rushed through it it clearly hit bat first as shown on the snicko

Buddy if it was Pakistan, we would have dominated and smashed them at home and given them a nightmare at their own home as well. You cannot come close to the level of domination that Pakistan team has over England.

They "can" bowl india out in 2 sessions easily, they have the bowlers to do it. whether it happens or not is a different story. Before England look into doing that they want o ensure only 2 results are available? Meaning the time is not a big factor as people are making it out to be , lot of criticism for Joe root not declaring.
 
Alright, a high-class, thrilling, exciting game and series has just ended.

Time to switch over to this mediocrity.
