Biggest heroes in this Asia cup are Groundsmen. How many times they had to run in run out. Siraj gave away prize money to groundsmen.
That's a beautiful gesture. The groundsmen were the real heros of this Asia Cup. No doubt.

Ishan Kishan is my favourite Indian cricketer right now. He has a power game but his inns vs PAK in tricky conditions shows he can knuckle down too.

He's already played 50 FC games and averages 39 so he's a proper batsman.

On the other hand, Khushdil and Asif were given extended runs for PAK because of their big hitting reputation. But both average mid-20s in FC cricket.

I'm not saying pick white-ball batsmen on FC averages - but they do give you a hint about whether a batsman has the fundamentals in place.
The guy's a model team cricketer. Willing to do whatever it takes to fit into the XI. He got a double hundred as an opener and was dropped next game. Didn't even blink when asked about it.....went on to improve his keeping game to make test debut and also his white ball game to fit in middle order.

Totally surprised by Collpase of SL Batting . I felt they wanted to go on an attacking mode from start and ended up loosing wickets badly .Anyway as an Indian happy that India won but sad the finals were totally a one sided affair .

Sri Lankan Cricket Board should take their players to task for the manner of this defeat. Will be surprised if they dismiss this as just a bad day at the office. The fact this happened to them in front of their jam-packed home crowds makes this defeat even more humiliating.

If a team gets bowled out for 50, do you think that game is a good game?

From a neutral perspective, it was a bad game. Game was over in less than 2 hours.
but you and I are not neutral wrt India. So that is why i said, from your perspsective it is not. From my perspective, it is a dream game to have.

It happens. India were AO for 36. Do you think anyone in BCCI said anything to the team. If you have played any level of cricket, you will understand that sometimes things happen pretty fast.

Big difference being 36 all out in a foreign country and being 36 all out in your home country in front of sold out crowds

To produce that rubbish on home soil in front of home fans in a tournament final... shame on the Lankans

India were 80 something AO vs SA in India itself. Australia have been bowled out cheaply against England in Ashes test match in 2010-11, I believe it was 98 All out, on Boxing Day (A Major major event in Australia's sporting calendar).
Do you think the boards said anything to the players. Come on, The Pitch had some moisture, it was seaming and it was Siraj's day out. Don't think SRL will be that bothered about this loss.

This game reminded me of Brazil's 1-7 home defeat against Germany (2014 World Cup semi-final).

We keep forgetting 36 all out was a pink ball Test. It is well known when the bowler gets to bowl during a specific time of the day they get unusual help from the surface. Happened in India as well. Suddenly Root picked 5 for 8 in the pink ball test in India.

IND might once again get to the knockout stage in WC but i still don't think this team has the ability to manage the ICC knockout pressure and win the title.

Huge gesture from Jay.

You may not like him because of his associations with Modiji or because of how he looks and because of his dumb antics.

But this is a sweet gesture from him.

Crushing India loss a 'wake-up call', says Sri Lanka coach

The home team were bowled out for just 50 in 15.2 overs with Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj ripping through the batting with his 6-21 in Colombo.

Sri Lanka were playing their 11th Asia Cup final but the 116-minute humilation left the fans disappointed and coach Silverwood said he hoped it will be a blessing in disguise.

"Sometimes a bit of a kick up the rear end is not the worst thing going into a World Cup," Silverwood told reporters.

"Maybe this is just a wake up call, that for us to compete against teams like India, Australia, and New Zealand - those types of guys - we have to be on top of our game.

He said, "Maybe there's something we can use out of this that can motivate us heading into that World Cup."

Sri Lanka, who have made the ODI World Cup starting October 5 in India after playing the qualifiers, went in as underdogs in the regional 50-over tournament.

But what unfolded in the final was unexpected as Dasun Shanaka's Sri Lanka fell like a pack of cards after they elected to bat first.

"Clearly it was a bad day in the office. Clearly we came up against a very high-class bowling unit," said Silverwood.

"It was a shame to finish the way we did. It's one of those things we can't dwell on too much because we've got a big tournament coming up. There are lessons to learn and questions to be asked in the dressing room."

Sri Lanka overcame an inconsistent showing at the start of the tournament and sneaked into the Super Fours with a dramatic win over Afghanistan.

Fast bowler Matheesha Pathirana and left-arm spinner Dunith Wellalage stood out for Sri Lanka with 21 wickets between them and Silverwood counted them as positives from the tournament.

"We played some very good cricket to get to the final. We had to fight very hard. For me it was an achievement," said Silverwood.

"But if we take today out of the equation, we've seen two youngsters put their hands up, in Dunith Wellalage, and Matheesha Pathirana. We've seen two of them really put up their hands on the world stage."

He added, "Sadeera (Samarawickrama) played some good knocks. (Kusal) Mendis has come back into form. But clearly consistency is something we need to bring into the game."

Sri Lanka will start their World Cup campaign against South Africa in Delhi on October 7.

The crowd didn't get their money's worth, did they? That was a letdown for the fans

SL getting humiliated was pretty satisfying to watch. They deserve every bit of it for the back stabbers they are.
