India beat Bangladesh by 208 runs in the one-off Test match

Fielding is letting down bangladesh's any chance of putting India under pressure.

69/1, 60+ partnership. Still both batsman looking uneasy. Bd Bowling good comparatively and fielding letting it down.
 
pujara was trying to get himself run out, and bangladesh trying hard to ensure that didnt happen...lol

Moronic display of fielding by the Bangla boys. India should have been 3 down by now. U simply can't expect to win matches with such rubbish fielding.
 
India will get slaughtered if they dish out these sort of pitches to the Aussies. Zzzz, this pitch has absolutely no life. Pathetic.
 
Pathetic fielding display from bd. Ind should have been 3 down. Luck and mushfiq is also with ind. What can bowlers do in this batting paradise :(

You mean grassy or flat? If it's flat & grassless I'm pretty certain that Australia will not win against us, barring two major batting collapses from India & none from Australia.
 
Waiting for the Bangladeshi spinners to unleash their potential against the Indian batting juggernaut in the next two sessions. Hope to see a good fight!
 
No excuse this time for bangladesh side they are playing pretty much similar condition to bangladesh .they

should put a decent fight to force there case for more test matches from top side.
 
I think Rahul should say bye bye to at least 1 format of cricket (Tests/LOIs). Otherwise there is a danger that selectors will tell bye bye to his whole international career! Guy doesn't seem to have the temperament to handle various situations!

From Rahul should play all formats cos he is amazing talent --> Rahul should quit one format now

How long before you say Rahul should quit all formats?

Rahul may get dropped if continues this for long and he deserves to but why don't you back the players you think will do well?

You are too impatient reg Indian players.

Rahul has been screwing up this way in all formats. Saying bye bye to one format is pointless. The issue is his temperament which could cost his career or shave away 3-4 years from it.
 
Vijay is the antithesis of Rahane. Starts well a series and then fade away. This being a 1 test series is good for both of them I guess ;-)

They all have lots of potential but its to be seen how they do this time away from Asia.Three of them were excellent( Vijay, Kohli(barring Eng), Rahane) and if Rahul and Pujara does well, India can sneeze few wins this time in Eng, NZ, SA and Aus.
 
the outfield is extremely slow.

Bangladesh should have hold onto their chances and have India for 100-3. Now the game is slipping away I am afraid.
 
Shakib averages 33 with the ball in the SC :)) His away average is quite good tho.

Just goes to show that Bangladesh really haven't used sporty wickets to enforce the result until recently where we gave England a run for their money
 
A good reason why Pujara and VJ performs in the SC is because they don't sweep as the commies are telling.

Sweeping is a poor man's shot. It not percentage cricket, all that risk of playing a horizontal shot just to score a run.

Yeah & that's why Eng/NZ/Aus realy so heavily on the sweep, SA do too but to a much lesser extent.

Sweep is an attacking shot, but never a percentage one especially with DRS in play. Get out of jail card, if you will.

Same almost in the case of hook or pull. Bounce is spungy and therefore you can't be 100% sure of controlling it. Guys like Rahane therefore are in a doubt when playing those shots in SC while on hard. bouncy pitches he had no problem.

The sweep is applied more by non-Asians because they are taught at a very young age this is how to tackle spin. The issue lies in the grass-root level.

However, some player play sweep with good intent. Someone like mathews, he plays the sweep outside the line or when the ball is going down leg. That not only reduces the oppurtunity of losing your wicket but also you are likely to power the ball for 2 or even 4.
 
BD bowlers need to understand that bowling wicket to wicket is the only way to get wickets. Its a very slow wicket without much turn
 
I have heard people compare Misbah and Vijay's batting citing the fact that they block for period and go for the big shot all of a sudden. Classic case of not watching the play and just relying on the scorecard to form an opinion.

Bangladesh look largely deflated at the moment. They need wickets as quickly as they can. With 16 overs to go, at this rate india will end the day at around 320-3.

What can Bangladesh do now? Can they dry up the runs and force a wicket?
 
Bangladesh are a decent side in LOIs, but don't know what happens when it comes to Test Cricket. Very disappointing.
 
Kohli gets to his 16th 100. he now has a cetury against each of the 7 countries he has played against.

Teams can lose in ODIs due to having an off-day. However chances of that happening over 5 days is negligible. They're a poor Test side with wins in single digits for a reason. Saying that, there was no chance they were going beat India in India anyway.

He still has dream stats on the papers (40+ in tests and 50+ in both ODIs & T20s with good strike rates! This kind of all format coverage is next only to Kohli! There is a huge gap between him & Kohli no doubt, especially in terms of consistency!).

People are already telling that he is more inconsistent than Rohit! Actually he shouldn't get compared to Rohit! For his technique, he should actually be far more consistent. Opening is a tough job, let's hope selectors persist with him, but anyhow he should definitely improve his temperament! I think his real essence will be known when we tour overseas. There he will be forced to improve his defense and be patient!
 
Mehedi of course shown his true colors. Not experienced enough for this level. Rabbi is a pure trundler and deserved to get smacked. He needs more pace for his aggressive attitude. Taskin is a good young talent though. Tajiul bowling well too. Kohli has a double for the taking here.
 
In Test match you have to win multiple sessions. Bangladesh had an opportunity to win the first session. They messed up big time. Now they have lost all 3 sessions. Only option for them is try to play responsibly when they bat. Just watch and learn from Kohli. Not a single shot was hit in the air. He just kept finding gaps.
 
Bangladesh won't do well in tests until they find better test bowlers. India is most likely going to win this one by an innings margin.

Slightly off-topic: someone please save me from Sanjay Manjrekar's commentary. Is there a worse commentator than him? In addition to his inane and meaningless comments (which even Siva does), what makes it worse is his faux aggression / excitement. He yells a few words in each sentence just to sound exciting. God -- that gives me a headache!

Athar? He cannot even form coherent sentences in English. Both him and Sanjay are unbearable.

Kohli now has the most test runs in a home season, getting ahead of Sehwag's 1105 in 2004/2005.
