India on top in the 3rd Test, finish Day 1 on 99/3 after bowling England out for 112 in Ahmedabad

Bad review from Bairstow. Clearly was daylight between bat and pad.

His rise in white ball cricket has coincided with a total deterioration in his Test technique, especially against balls coming into him.

He was much more compact when I saw him at the start of his career.

Anyway burden on Joe Root yet again.
 
Wow, what a terrible review by ENG, what was the batsmen on the other doing ? Day dreaming, should not have let Bairstow take that review
 
Poor from Johnny with regards the review. Should have at least walked down the pitch and consulted his partner. Perhaps he thought he had nicked it.

To be honest Johnny called for the review instantly, didn't really give Crawley the chance to consult.
 
Though I am supporting India but want Eng to do well and give a good fight. Root needs to go big and score a century here.
 
England are fine, the pacers look ineffective. Root Crawley, Foakes are good players of spin.
 
I think England should declare at 180-6 around tea time. Where is our expert? :yk
 
Oh no....Root injured...not good. Hope nothing serious and he didnt broke that finger.

Plenty of assistance for the seam bowlers. Odd that India have only picked two seamers. England will be well in this game with the side that they have selected. Anderson and Broad under lights with the shiny pink ball will be very difficult to face.
 
Why are our pacers so vicious? Root is such a nice guy and they have broken his fingers. We need to not be so ruthless.

England should declare at tea.
 
England are at least scoring the runs which can be very important! They can capitalize if they can catch Indians batting in a difficult period like Australia did!
 
It took England 3 tests to figure out their best playing XI. I know Zak wasn't fit but still they are now playing their full strength team. If England makes it to final, they will crush NZ. :inti
 
That's a quality fifty from Crawley. Been positive on a pitch that's offered a bit for the bowlers.
 
Crawley is the real deal, ive seen him play for Kent 2nd xi a few years ago, the elegance and grace in his shots is something else. He is well built and tall all the makings of an impressive career if he applies himself correctly, that 267 against Pakistan wasn't a gift or a fluke.
 
Haven't watched the game can anyone explain how the pitch is behaving?
 
Poor play from Root, and he knew it as well. England will be in the contest with 250.
 
250 could be a decent total here, ball will start moving under lights, completely different conditions before and after dinner
 
Brilliant bowling by axar, 2 sharp turning ones followed by straighter on.

Can see england being all out before tea.

Get a few to turn and you always put some doubt in a batsman's mind.

The Axe has bowled superbly.

His back isn't fully ready to bowl. Thats the reason he didn't bowl in IPL and the limited overs series in Aus. Even if one of the top 5 of the batting line-up get injured it will be mayank or kl who will replace and nor hardik. They are still easing him into international cricket.
 
India will be the happier of the sides. Despite losing the toss they've already taken four major scalps.

England will do well to score 250 from here. Surface has been challenging but The Axe bowled particularly well.
 
Its a turner again, Interesting to see how the pink ball will hold its colour on a turner like this.

Yeah. Even though he played the last test we played at home, still that was more than 14 months back.
 
England have a long tail here so india will go for kill. England will then have to do loads of damage with pink ball under lights.

Been really impressed with axar patels bowling so far. Good use of variations
 
The thing with Axar is that he rips one ball big away from the bat and then attacks the stumps for the rest of the deliveries.

Can f**k with the mind of a batsman wondering if the ball will turn or not.

Win the toss and choose bowling would be right option.
Don't know why England opted batting.

Thats how turners work where the skill of the bowler mean he can turn one square and then bowl a straighter one. Anyway dont want to have this conversation again and rile up all insecure Indian fans who wants the whole world to believe they are preparing fast pitches at home instead.

I am more interested in how the pink bowl will keep its colour on such pitches.
 
Wait till both teams bat on this pitch. It does offer bounce and carry.

Anderson, Archer, Broad, new pink ball under lights..... what chances do Indian batsmen stand?
 
Axar have been superb so far.

Imgaine Ashwin, Jadeja and Axar on a turner ( and all 3 can bat as well )

Bess is not Test ready. Right to play pacers of Broad/Archer's calibre on any pitch over an inexperienced-inconsistent spinner. Bess will get better with experience, but right now the Indian batsmen will take him to cleaners.

England's best chance to bounce back is the English pacers, England gets to 150+ they are on top. Declare with 20 overs to spare today.

Because there will be a lot of assistance, if they get the top order incl. Kohli, England are back in.

Tomorrow morning if India grinds it out then there is no point.
 
Lol these are straight ball which got wicket .this is very very poor batting by England
