India on top in the 3rd Test, finish Day 1 on 99/3 after bowling England out for 112 in Ahmedabad

Except for that 82 in the first test, Stokes has been rendered totally useless in this series so far.

Stokes' misery against spin continues.

ENG keep getting done by straight balls, awful techniques.

Lol these are straight ball which got wicket .this is very very poor batting by England

Thats the problem when the ball turns so much, especially on the first day, its usually the straighter ones that deceive batsmen as they play for the spin.

get england out for 110.

bat 5 sessions , score 450 and get england out for 150.

3 day match.

Ball not turning big here .best time for Batsman to bat but England batting Is very poor

its very hard to bat out there , no team other than india can bat well in these conditions.

just tuned in pp'ers...firstly good to see the Eng guys offer namaste whilst meeting the prez...good on them...Stadium looks awesome , my cousin in crowd njoing the ambience....what a start by india...Akshar proving to be a good inclusion....Ashwin-wow....one thing thats heartening is these guys who started off almost togetther like ishant, hitman, ashwin, yadav, jads all improving by leaps and bounds in their latter half of carrers.
way to go . Indiaaa....:ds

What bizarre selections from England send Moeen home play four seamers on a rank turner......

It was Sri Lanka's fault. They gave Bess so many easy wickets that England consumed the hype, he became the whyte Murali!

Moeen is England's best spinner, Moeen is an all-rounder, Moeen has a lot of sub continent experience, ECB should have told him we need you for all four tests. They place all their hopes on Leach and Bess.

All the Lankans fault!

This eng batting line up has no chance against these spinners, the only batsman in recent times that could tame them were Younis misbah & Michael Clarke!!

This poking and prodding is not getting England anywhere. Crawley managed to succeed with a positive approach, and I think that's what these two will need.

Just scrap to 175 and give the bowlers something to work with.

and if u go back some more time....Andy flower....he was beast against us....i think in the 2002 series he got about 400 runs in just reverse sweeps...

Root, Foakes, Buttler, Moeen are all good players of spin. Root made a rare mistake, Foakes is fighting it out, the other two are back home.

Because there will be a lot of assistance, if they get the top order incl. Kohli, England are back in.

Tomorrow morning if India grinds it out then there is no point.

May be you are right. But Its not Eng or NZ to bet on help for fast bowlers at take that chance.

Conditions are different.

And Dew in Ahmedabad may make ball heavier and remove whatever help available for Fast Bowlers in a pink ball day night test under lights

By the way they don't have to declare now, anyways they will be all out.

Lets See how Eng Bowls

The ball is softer now, not as bouncy....its not twilight yet, lights not on...this is the best time to bat....

Lol at people calling this a rank turner.

They have to know how childish they sound like right now.

England could have used Moeen here... a quickfire 40 to 50 runs and then his bowling when India would be batting...

A bowling line up of Axar, Jadeja, Ashwin, Bumrah and Shami will destroy any world-class batting let alone Eng. Just can't wait for Jadeja and Shami to join this champion team soon.

They r being realistic. Theyv done well in the 1st test but know they will get hammered by ind in the end so spread the hurt around... don’t want any one player to get a pasting...

England better of swinging from the hip try and add 20 30 more to the total rather than this backward defensive stuff they are doing.

This is by no means a rank turner.

If not for a pink ball drama in night session, India will get 400+ easily.

The batsmen keep missing the straight balls and making the spinners look epic.

It's just dead straight balls.

They're playing their best team, won toss, got a decent wicket and squandering advantage. Utterly disappointed. Was hoping for the to win toss and make 300 in the first innings.

This is more like what we should have expected from England in the sub continent tbh. The win they got was a great victory but was only a discrepancy.

Would have been better of bowling and having a look at the pitch first but i suppose they didn't want to bat last especially with 3 spinners in this india team. Either way they will need a miracle from here to get anything out of this game.

Awful rabbit-in-headlights batting performance from England here — barring Zak Crawley, whose positive example at the top of the order should have been followed by the rest.

The majority of the dismissals have been embarrassing, with Stokes being the worst of all.

Anderson and Broad need to bowl out of their skins to keep England in this one, otherwise both the match and the series will be gone.

If it's not a Turner then how are Indian spinners getting to much assistance from the pitch and getting wickets for fun here ?

Because England are horrendous and our spinners are best in business.

Crawley got 53 so wickets not that bad. England have just batted in a pathetic manner after being 70/2.

Akshar's bowled magnificiently, what an able replacement for jads.....my cousin in stadium went to the top tier and says its like looking down from the 7th - 8th floor....that must be such a fantastic view...

Ashwin gets Broad. Reviewed, not out.

Stuart MacGill used to often out bowl Shane Warne when they played together, what does that tell you ?

Lol now this is really funny .

What the.... :)))

tells you the support spinner needs a lot more respect :))

Ashwin is bowling well and getting turn and variable bounce but Patel is out bowling him which must mean the pitch is a turner. Obviously its clearly a turner but even this rank turner is not a extreme rank turner that was produce in the last match.

cmon get broad pratt and jim grump....ball's turning a lot...but the important thing is the BOUNCE is EVEN ...will also be hard for our guys to face their pacers under lights...

So a ball turning on the first day of a test match is a crime now!

No its not producing mud for a wicket will not be a crime either.. fair enough India need this advantage because of what happened on the first test match so we have to see these kind of pitches.

You either have no clue what a rank turner is or you're just biased and salty.

Wow.

India is just squashing England.

Great bowling by Axar and Ashwin.

Jadeja's shoes are not easy to fill, and Axar has done a brilliant job so far.

Hats off to India, they should make England regret picking up Ideas of 36 all out.

That ball tuned a mile on the first day before tea lol

Balls turning but its seaming too, good bowing track will offer a bit to both types of bowlers. Rank turners would turn square from ball one, the straighter ones here are causing the issues, you wouldn't get many straight ones on a rank turner.

Broad has really degenerated since that Varun Aaron bouncer.

All he does now is walk off with an ironic smile. Every single time :srt

Such a shame.

Anyway, disgraceful batting performance from England.

More and more disappointed with Stokes who has looked totally confused after that amazing 1st innings knock in the 1st test.

Re-revising my series scorecard to 1-3 in India’s favour.

Incredibly timid by England.

Would things have been different had Axar played the first test????
