If Gill replaces Pujara and Shaw replaces Rahane this will become a very strong batting unit.

Mahmood
We did that in 1st innings of WTC final, when after raising 60 for the first wicket both Rohit & Gill thought their task is over. We all know what happened post that.92-0 can become 120-4 easily ( like last test ), so pls don't any harakiri here .
Exactly thinking the same.
I don't have enough technical knowledge like you do so may not be able to articulate it properly.
Not good start.
Did you see the half front foot...half backfoot defense?
What nonsense was that?
Bro Mo is a serious danger dude. We gotta be careful.
I find it difficult to understand why Chris Woakes is not in the starting 11 and England continue to persist with Sam Curran.
One bounce 4!Rohit takes on Moeen and hits a 6.
Extremely good point.

Oh come on SIF. I dont have a lot of technical knowledge). Its just that Moeen generally bowls quicker and gets overspin on on the ball so playing 9n the backfoot can result in dangers of lbw.
Looks like KL has taken my word ,"most versatile batsman" seriously. He is blocking it everything and not looking as assured either.

That also is expected.
Moeen bhai is like a stereotypical hero.
Will take blows.
Then will start hitting and knock you out.
Good point. For years, I tried hard not rating him but I think he has done more than enough vs us to deserve to be rated as a very good player across formats.

Happiest man right now is Pujara. Rain saved him last game and now Rohit-Rahul delaying his inevitable failure![]()
One ball kept low from Moeen.
On Day 1.
Yasir Shah type pitch. He would do very very well here.
Jaddu might do well here with the ball if he doesn't drop it too short.
The commies on sky also mentioned the type of grass on pitch is short and not long as in nottingham.
its rained, but with time the moisture will go away
My guess is 3.5 4th day onwards , pitch will turn
I remember on a similar pitch in hamilton 2009 - Harbie took heaps of NZ wickets and we won big...
I hope we have not missed a trick by not taking Ashwin ....
See this is the problem with stats and cliches.
Yes what you say is true.
But its also true that we won in Aus 2020 cos he took out smith and labuschane in that series.
Same way in WTC finals, he could have got Williamson for 0 in first innings if only we had leg slip.
And 2nd innings was a lucky escape for williamson which he himself admitted.
All this inspire of the fact that he barely bowled any deliveries to williamson in that game.
Anyways...whats done is done.
Rohit looks perplexed with that dismissal.
What the heck was that ball....
That jagged in.
Was it that Asifesque wobbly seam ball he had been trying on first session?
How bad is our batting that NOT ONE person would be surprised if we are 150/4.
Yup.
Yup.
Yup.
Wobbled.
Puji looked out of sorts
