India reach 321/7 at Stumps on Day 2 they take a commanding lead of 144 runs against Australia

Rohit is slowly but surely turning into a champion test bat! (Like he became a champion LOI bat few years back!)
 
Playing Rahul and sky ahead gill is such a blunder . Gill is inform Batsman

A football could have crept through the gate in that SKY wkt. Quintessential hack. Test caps should not be given away like end of season sale.
 
We are playing so many passengers in this XI and still at a better position than Australia.

Pujara, Kohli, Rahul, Sky, that's our entire top and middle order, almost.

What about Kohli & Pujara? They are even worst especially Kohli who is also dropping catches with such alarming regularity.
 
Not to play Gill & Kuldeep in this test were such dumb moves.

Playing Sky & Rahul was even dumber.
 
Boland's nagging accuracy is very much like Stuart Clark.
 
Australia have not done too badly, all things considered. If it wasn't for Rohit they could be in a position to take control of this match. But this is where selecting a playing eleven with so much batting depth will help India.

Everyone besides the last two can bat.
 
My thoughts on Boland are pretty simple. I don't know how he does it, but he does it.
 
This Murphy kid looks good. Shades of Greame Swann. 4 wickets on debut against India is nothing to sneeze at. Could take a lot more in this innings too.
 
We are so lucky to have Ashwin & Jadeja in home tests.

Pujara averages less than 25 in test cricket during last 3 years. That too has been propped up by his ton a flatbed against BD.

Kohli is even worse. He averages 20 during last 3 years.

Don't need and can't afford such 'value'.

Maybe If they get a flat pitch and no pressure situation. Valuable but any top Indian domestic batter can do better.

Gill and Sarfaraz can do that and better.

Don't see what Sanju Samson has done better than Bharath in FC to be in the test team. In PAnt's absence, lets give Bharat a chance before thinking of Samson.

We should try Gill in the middle order at 3 or 4, and give Sarfaraz a shot in the MO too. As for opening, I would hope we try someone like Jaiswal in KL's place.

Gill should be in right away, next test. And Iyer, who is India's best player of spin.

Do not know anything about Bharat's keeping skills. But perhaps Rahul as keeper and bats down the order.

For the Aussies, Head should come in, but not sure how much better or more runs the batting will score.

What has Sky done in FC? Selectors are playing musical chairs with players currently. So there is a pretty good chance Samson might also get an opportunity to play tests in the future before Pant returns to test team. :inti

This almost a match-winning lead given state of Aus batting and supremacy of India bowling.

that is his belly. he is fat. he can run, dive and catch well but that extra weight causing him injuries. the conditioning coach doesn't have the guts to ask him to lose some kgs because he is a star player? ridiculous, always a hamstring injury around the corner. no hopes of him getting into shape now. he gains weight, loses only a few and then gains again. no hope of being consistently fit. not asking for six pack but keeping the BMI in check.

India have to bat last and most of our lineup couldn't even bat in 1st innings. All that tuk tuk will cost us just like it did when we last played England.

I can't predict what the selectors do. SKY should be nowhere near the test team.

But I can at least be logical that given both Samson and Bharath are on equal footing in FC, and since we have already played Bharath, it would be illogical to discard before giving him a fair run of 5-8 tests.

I said Samson might get a chance in the future. Both Bharat and Samson can be in the same squad just like Kishan and Bharat are in the squad currently. Kishan will be dropped without getting any chance. This is how our selectors work. :inti
 
Shouldn't underestimate Australia in the 3rd dig. They can bat big - this pitch doesn't have too many demons.

As usual India will be saved by the lower order and get a big lead.
 
Indian no. 3 and 4 are duds at the moment against good bowling along with KL Rahul. With no Shreyas Iyer and no Pant it is a very weak batting line up.

Since Mohali Test 2016, Jaddu averages 47 with the bat. Him, Pant and Rohit have been key in recent years. Kohli, Pujara and the rest need to replaced soon.
 
Has Gavaskar's voice changed or am I listening to somebody else?

Kohli & Pujara should have been replaced at least an year back.

Thankfully, at least Rahane seems to be dropped for good, hopefully.
 
Sunny has been commentating for over 3 decades now. May be time for him to take well deserved rest.

Good thing about SG balls is that with the pronounced seam bowlers of any kind are always in the game.

Yeah, Sarfaraz should have been that person. Sky, for sure doesn't belong to test cricket.

When Kohli is booted out permanently, Gill should be our permanent number 4.
