This day will decide the match. If India get a three figure lead, match is done. If sooks get India out before 230 then they are in pole position.

You can somewhat predict India when they are in form and line up is predictable. We have 2 debutants playing. Past by sell date Kohli. Jadeja is back after injury. No idea about his batting form. No Iyer to stall a collapse. India is certainly not out of the woods. india struggled against England as well. Rohit played some unbelievable innings like he played on a different pitch. So it is down to him to drive the fortunes of india.

Lyon is slowly but surely getting some bite out of the surface. He can be deadly as the game wears on.

Well played Ashwin. Far superior batsman against spinners than Kohli & Rahul.

For some reason, they have gone defensive. I would have thought they could score some runs before roller effect wears off.

Rohit is actually in pretty good form in Tests! Injuries & LOI hiccups have masked his sublime form in tests (even in overseas). As most of them have felt, he should have been our Test Opener at least 5 years back! Even now he can do wonders if he concentrates mainly on tests (and remains as captain for this format)!

Cummins' needs a rest. Him and Rabada are elite pacers but since Jan 2017, their bowling workloads have been insane. Apart from franchise leagues and domestic cricket , they have bowled 2248 and 2154 overs respectively in international cricket. Both look jaded

Actually these two are the best batsmen for these conditions/pitch in our current side! Ashwin is no way a night watchman, it was a very good ploy to send him ahead! Dravid is doing OK job with test-matches coaching! Can we have a different coach and setup/team-composition for LOIs please?

Thankfully we are starting well in the 1st test match of a series at home! (against teams like Australia & England off late we seem to struggle in the 1st match)

Cummins started managing workload long back. He misses a lot of matches.

Ruthless from India. Australia is in no position to put up any fight.

India is a very strong team to compete with, let alone beat at home. Formidable unit.

How good is Ashwin. India is going to have a tough time replacing him when calls it a day.

It's an insult to call him a nightwatchman. He is better than a no.8 where he bats.

He needs to do more. His pace and zip are simply not there at the moment.

He always looks like that. He has a lot in the tank. His strength is relentlessness. He has serious stamina to bowl long spells. He lacks some specific skills that is required here. Gillespie was very good Mcgrath can easily adapt.

Murphy looks the part. Aus should invest further in him. Person in waiting when Lyon retires.

Murphy having his O'Keefe moment.

Boland has made the adjustment. zoning in on the stumps relentlessly. Batsmen have no chance to score any runs

Australian bowling looking threatening. India's lack of intent cost us in England last year and will cost us again. Gotta attack Murphy and put him under pressure. Boland is too skilled and accurate to attack consistently

Credit to Boland. No wonder he is very effective in Australia. Bowling the same line and length over and over

Attack on Murphy gets Chepu out.

Australia's slow start to their tour of India has been further compounded with news that key batter Matthew Renshaw has picked up a knee injury and is in doubt of featuring during the remainder of the first Test in Nagpur.

India v Australia, Scorecard
Renshaw hurt his knee during the warm-up prior to the second day's play and has subsequently been sent for scans on the injured area.

The left-hander was a notable absentee as play commenced on Friday, with back-up spinner Ashton Agar taking the field as his replacement.

Renshaw was dismissed for a golden duck on the opening day of the contest as Australia were dismissed for just 177 and a classy innings from India skipper Rohit Sharma has the hosts in the box seat on day two of play.

Can a man have worse 24 hours on cricket field?

Diamond duck and a knee injury. Feel sorry for him.

Todd Murphy is the real deal it appears.

Meanwhile Lyon is getting mauled.

Having seasoned spinners at home is a massive advantage on Bunsen burners.

AUS 177
IND 151/3 (52) CRR: 2.9
Day 2: Lunch Break - India trail by 26 runs

Kohli has been playing for AUstralia from first over . But nobody was surprised at this. Spinners have a strangle hold over him. How things changed. used t o be one of the best against spin.

Can't believe Mayank struggles to make it to this lineup.

Mayank too was too loose. T20 batting had crept up in his game. Hope he has tightened up in domestic. Apparantly scored a good double in ranji semi other day.

Has SuryiKumar done anything to be in the test side ? That mustve been the easiest test cap in memory, that he got..

Still, he took on Ajaz when rest of the lineup failed. He is better than current Kohli for sure. Kohli is absolutely done. Kohli will drop catches and fail to score runs.

The Bazball effect - everyone wants one of those batters on their side.
