@mominsaigol history repeats it self yes, but everyday is a new day. Isn't it ?
Yes, everyday is a new day. Clearly we have a brand new never before seen captain, who's never opened before, Never struggled against Bracewell before, and players have never been injured in his wake before, and clearly we've never had jokesters replacing the injured players before.

2023: Naseem shah

Replacement: Hasan has been Ali

2024: Rizwan

Replacement: the legend of Hasebullah.

Haseeb as a replacement in squad makes no sense TBH. You are right. I think Haris missed the boat because of his poor PSL show, not that Haseeb did wonders but he made less games so he failed less times.

Haseeb is not going to play though IG. waste of spot.

The slower Lahore pitch should favour Pakistani spinners and medium pacers who are more effective bowling cutters etc

Tbf I've been wrong multiple times, I'm not really a genie, it's just many times my predictions are spot on because Pakistan has an eternal habit of repeating past mistakes. I've been saying for months that history is repeating itself.

2023

-Pakistan faces D String NZ and them faces tough teams( Asia cup) before the world cup.

- Pakistan gets injury strucken with 1 of their players(Naseem) being rules out, and another player (Fakhar) being injured until he can make a comeback fullfledged into the squad.

- Pakistan crush NZ but lose one game, however a pattern of never rotating or trying squad combos excluding bowling, is done until injuries or team getting butcheres happens which forces changes such as Abdullah replacing falhar for a bit, saud replacing the out of form agha, and In the asia cup, Zaman khan being a last minute draft in.

- Pakistan get exposed and bullied and butchered in the cup deapite their being worrying signs such as babar horrific play against spin getting stumped out multiple times during the games, or The bowlers being a bit on the expensive side despite taking wickets against depleted bats.

Now so far in 2024

- Pakistan once again faces a depleted NZ and has lost one game.

- Pakistan has gotten injury struck with azam Khan being out for a good long while and rizwan just like fakhar missing out on this series and England series but will return for the cup.

- Similarly the babar spin problems are evident in this series as well and bowlers even though they have gotten wickets they've been on the expensive side.

- Now all that's left is for the cup to come and expose us again as quality bats won't be walking wickets and Babar will face tougher spinners then Bracewell.

oh but one change is that spin is better. Shadab still sucks but Abrar has made a difference atleast.

Ph and last year, Chacha was also a last minute draft in appearing in the 5th odi despite not being part of the squad and only in reserves.

Here we have the legend of Hasebullah now.

So more evidence of historical repeats.

With Rizwan and Irfan out with injuries and only 2 matches before WC squad announcement, they should try remaining players....

Playing XI:

1) Saim Ayub
2) Babar Azam (C)
3) Usman Khan
4) Fakhar Zaman
5) Shadab Khan
6) Imad Wasim
7) Iftikhar Ahmed
8) Usama Mir
9) Mohammed Amir
10) Abbas Afridi
11) Zaman Khan

I think Usama, Imad and Fakhar will come in yes, but Shaheen is still not gonna rest for Zaman.

I miss ihsanullah. The dude was all over the place the last time we saw him, but he had the most potential.

If he improved his line and length( which he could have, dude loved bowling and playing for Pakistan) his 150kph rippers over these 128kph trundles anyday.

Can't believe psl fudged the pace numbers. International has exposed these clowns.

If I was the director I'd be sending this against the c team

1) Saim Ayub
2) Fakhar Zaman/ Shabzada Farhan
3) Usman Khan
4) Tayyab Tahir
5) Imad Wasim
6) Shadab Khan (c)
7) Haris (wk)
8) Shaheen Afridi
9) Naseem shah/ Amir
10) Ali
11) Abrar/Usama

Backup would

Saud shakeel and Abdullah based of psl performances and Abaas afridi + Usman Tariq.

Why do babar, Rizwan and chacha have to play every series, even if it's d string NZ, stop sending these morons to Uganda. Does Pakistan not want to nurture and build a team like NZ, do you not want to incorporate fresh blood into the main attack?

On what basis is Hasebullah here? Or even Zaman khan for that matter? OR EVEN Irfan Khan niazi, who did they befriend in PCB?

Edit: Haris can also be Makeshift opener or no 3 is the situation call for it.

Double Edit: Add salman Ali Agha as well, we need proper allrounders.

Good team but what about today's game. Do you see any out of the box change like shaheen rested or babar rests himself? I guess no but do you have any 6-sense type thing in mind that this thing could happen?

usman khan should wicket keep and imad will come in for sure
Yep. Usman will keep the wickets for sure and will also be batting at number 3. Imad will replace irfan. Fakhar will come in for Riz.... Usama might also get a game for Abrar.

Today's game will probably be

1) Babar Azam (c)
2) Saim Ayub
3) Usman Khan (wk/ Gets promoted to no 3 in rizzu's absence)
4) Fakhar Zaman (makes a comeback)
5) Shadab Khan (Irfan is injured, and based of his comments and the way things are, he'll get promoted)
6/7) Imad Wasim/ Chacha (Imad will get a game most likely)
8) Shaheen
9) Naseem
10) Amir (He comes back for abass afridi)
11) Abrar (Knowing babar ill be suprised if he brings in usama, tbh he might bring usama ahead of imad lol)

Nay Bro, Iftikhar will play. Imad comes in for Irfan. Usama will not play ahead of imad but yes he might play ahead of abrar.

Look at the list, it says 6/7 meaning both will play imad and chacha.

6/7 aka either one of em will play at 6 or 7

ooooo...my bad . Yes they both will play. Amir should come in place of Shaheen as well.
won't happen, this is a captain who's amazing decisions include rotating Amir and abass afridi 😂

Do you want fakhar to open?
I think we have better aggressive options in the shape of Saim who is a more consistent T20I opener than Fakhar. Fakhar can open but we have to be patient with him there because his record as an opener T20I so far suggests he is a bit too inconsistent.

I would actually want him to bat at no. 4 now. We need players in middle who can take on spinners and Fakhar can do that.

Then why not get actual middle order bats?

I've been advocating for tayyab, Haris, Imad to be in the middle order for a while now.

I still don't get tayyab's unfair treatment, he had only 3 games to represent and faiked and was booted? Like bro I can bring up rizzu failing from 2016-2020 lol in t20, he didnt improve until he opened under misbah.

So why was tayyab only given 3 games when

A) He's proven he's a genuine middle order bat.

B) outperformed everyone in the acc emerging cup, which featured Indian players who are currently playing IPL, and he outperformed his own teammates featuring players like saim, Haris, Omair bin aziz, shabazada farhan etc.

C) In psl avg 42 and a sr of 152 which is an sr we sorely need?

Why is an opener playing at no 4?

Fakhar should have never been removed as a t20nopenwr irrespective of his form due to his ability to play mighty innings in white ball cricket. Rizzu replacing him is the biggest clown moment in pcb history.

There are middle order batters but they're too slow often. Tayyab is there but he was discarded without giving chances.

Right now with whose available in the squad. Fakhar and Shadab aren't bad options in the middle.

With this current squad, fakhar and Shadab fit the role to be our middle-order batters. Both have a good game against spin. This combo can work.

I don't understand why people don't want fakhar to open?

This daroo daroo fakhar will fail mentality needs to end. We already know this guy can hit 60 ball hundreds and go at 180-200 when switched on.

Goal always should have been to figure out why he's inconsistent and help him become consistent.

Only Misbah can be so braindead to replace fakhar a guy who can hit 150+ in odi for rizwan of all people.

You don't need 40 avg and 110 sr players in t20 bhai. Babar and rizwan's stats are the reflective. They've been consistently proven to be slow.

Fakhar's stats with Sr looks poor because of failures. Not because his sr is actually that lowm

Fakhar apparently has a great game against spin…

Yeah watch how he holes out to any random off spinner from around the wicket.

The guy is an attacker of pace! Babar’s supporters are building false narratives around him. Yes Fakhar cleans up wrist spinners who loop the ball up to him…which attacking player in world cricket doesn’t? I know Babar and Rizwan can’t because they are not built like that. That doesn’t mean Fakhar is a great player of spin and the other two are inferior to him in this aspect

Muhammad Yousuf hitting them long sixes
Need to watch Yousuf technique against spin. He keeps his back lift a lot lower and very methodically approaches the pitch of the ball. He can easily check out if the ball isn’t in his range to strike big this way

False and hypocritical narratives are built all the time to protect rizwan and babar. I've been compling a list.

1) Usman Khan must be booted out, fans are hiding behind the excuse of him playing at no 4, in international you only get 5 games to show your worth and then that's it.

Rizwan in t20 2015: 6 games played, high score 33, Avg 20.4 and SR: 97

Rizwan in 2016: 1 gane played, Hs 4, Avg 4, SR 100

Rizwan in 2019: 6 games played, HS: 31, Avg 18.5 sr 98.

^^ Based of this, that's 13 games, Rizwan shpuld have been booted, but he got promoted to opener put of the blue.

Yet when I brought this argument up, people claimed it was because rizzu was out of position and you shpuld look at his stats as an opener in domestic, Then I said yeah genuis, where do you think usman khan is batting and what are his stats at opening or no 3 in domestic?

Obviously when I bring this up they backtrack.

2) We don't have players so rizwan and babar are all we got.

I brought up numerous options and argued properly as to why, many posters like Ahmed agreed with me but now these very posters have forgotten this argument happened and will go back to rizwan and babar we don't have anyone else.

3) Fakhar is a goat against spin, and a t20 failure

No, his record in odi shows he laces pace, whereas with spin he becomes a legside hack although a good legside unlike legwan, The whole he sucks at t20 due to record is a ploy to keep rizzu.

4) We don't have any keepers to replace rizzu, aka hiding behind keeping clause.

First of Pakistan used keepers as specialists not at batsmen, Wasim bari and moin khan worked, so logically no 8 would be fine, secondly Haris's ability to be utilised anywhere from no 1 to no 7 due to his extremly high sr makes him a 100x more viable then rizwan, because in t20 finn Allen and rohit sharma have shown why averages don't matter much.

So haris is 100x more suitable then rizwan.

The reality is they made this 5 match clause for usman khan because he endangers rizzu, today their hoping for him to fail, their also hoping for saim to fail.

If they had their way their squad would look like this

1) Babar
2) rizwan
3) Shan
4) Hasebullah
5) Chacha
6) Shadab
7) Nawaz
8) Usama/ Abrar
9) Shaheen
10) Naseem
11) Haris Rauf.

BTW this isn't my whole list, the post was getting long, I have a list of 7 to 8 extra that I've been compiling.

Why they throwing pies in this 6 hitting competition? In the real game your not going to get pies. No wonder these guys hit 150+ sixes in the nets and nothing I the real game

BTW for those who don't rate usman khan and won't him booted because of this whole silly 5 match only caluse.

Look at rizwan's stats in the first 13 t20 games he played lol.

Ironically play him out of position on tue middle order and it'll revert back 😂.

So yes the whole Usman khan out of position argument of mine is valid. Theirs no counters.

They are still miscuing the pies as well
How is yousaf hitting sixes better then some of the players?

Chacha miscued his 3rd hit, Usama mir was beyond hilarious, Babar miscued 1 as well.

Like bro, how is a retired dinasour batting better then you guys

There is a video of Saqlain still getting Babar out in nets. The same Saqlain who’s career was murdered by Sehwag in Multan. The quality of the legends of the past compared to the so called greats of today is clear to see.

Babar isn’t on the level of Inzimam, Yousuf, Younis Khan and Saeed Anwar. Abdul Razzaq as well was a far greater, lower order clutch batsman in comparison to Babar the current batsman

The reality is they made this 5 match clause for usman khan because he endangers rizzu, today their hoping for him to fail, their also hoping for saim to fail.

If they had their way their squad would look like this

1) Babar
2) rizwan
3) Shan
4) Hasebullah
5) Chacha
6) Shadab
7) Nawaz
8) Usama/ Abrar
9) Shaheen
10) Naseem
11) Haris Rauf.

😭😭
I have not seen any post in this thread that says Usman should be booted out. Are you posting the question yourself and then answering it back?

There is a video of Saqlain still getting Babar out in nets. The same Saqlain who’s career was murdered by Sehwag in Multan. The quality of the legends of the past compared to the so called greats of today is clear to see.

Babar isn’t on the level of Inzimam, Yousuf, Younis Khan and Saeed Anwar. Abdul Razzaq as well was a far greater, lower order clutch batsman in comparison to Babar the current batsman
It's obvious babar isn't on their level and will never be.

Although I wanna defend babar on one thing, He wasn't this bad during 2017-2021. He was an accumulator yes, but he was decent and frankly an improvement over the shehzad's and farhats we were getting. He was good, obviously medicore compares to the rest of the world but very good if you compare him to countries besides sena.

From 2022 he's started to suck and currently he's regressed to medicore and subpar. 2022-2024 have been extremely poor for him

The usman khan argument was made by Major in another thread.

Interestingly among these three players. Babar has the best Strike rate in T20Is against pace but the worst against spin.

But Babar has a strike rate of 129 and is considered a flop T20 batsman regardless

So if Fakhar’s stats and SR are low because of failures, why do you want him to open so he can fail some more?

Don’t get this logic?

Just because he can hit a few sixes here and there, we HAVE to make him open and ignore the failures?

If Fakhar had actually performed consistently, we wouldn’t be having this discussion in the first place.

Averages don’t matter in T20 cricket, that’s fine but what good will Pakistan achieve if number 3 and 4 are coming in to bat within the first six overs in every other game?

Because fakhar is a confidence type player. When he's switched on he's more then capable of hitting a 60 ball 100 like he did when Pakistan needed to chase 400. In fact that game was cut short via drs in cut in 25 overs.

He played t20 that day it proves you need him as an opener.

Management needs to work on getting him more consistent, not have him at 4 so that babar plays and Babar is the misbah of this era lol

Babar has become stubborn, and he is not demoting himself to the one-down batting position. I observed that stubbornness on his face during the presser yesterday.

Bhai, become stubborn would imply its a recent development lol.

He has been like this since 2021. It's been 3 years.

I suspected it he never cared to bat at 3 the day he opened batting with Saim in Peshawar Zalmi. You would think a senior player like him would give whole season of PSL to guys like Saim and Harris to open and him coming at 3. As that would've been the practice these players needed when it came fo Pakistan. But no. Babar latched back to his opening position.

He opens because its the easiest place for him to get a milestone. That's why. More balls, more deliveries, more time.

He plays for himself not the team, he's always been like this.

One thing I am pretty sure of At least for three years, we are not going to see 'Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first'.

Fakhar Zaman was dropped after the first game against Netherlands, where he had another failure after a string of low scores.

You want me to dig up the thread where he is getting mauled left, right and centre by the same people screaming for his return here. Pakistan fans are immature and they deserve these results due to how flaky we are with the players.

And that was Fakhar's best format. He has been a dud in T20 cricket despite playing over 7 years now, consistently in the team too might I add.

I like watching Fakhar bat, and know what he's capable of. But he blows hot and cold too many times, specially in the T20 format, for him to be once again opening the batting.

If we pair up Saim and Fakhar, can you imagine how many times we will be 2 down for nothing in the power play itself?

should have batted first out batsmen need practice, think babar too scared to bat first just incase he's 10 runs short again

cricinfo : Michael Bracewell: We'd have bowled first as well. I think 180 would be a good score on this wicket. Obviously, we'll have to adapt quickly to the pitch and outfield. Three changes for New Zealand. Tim Seifert misses out due to a sore back. Tom Blundell comes in as his replacement

I know most people won't agree with me, but let me still say this: the attack that they have in this match will play better in the World Cup than the main attack that we have.

Because he knows he will have to bat strong to totally bat the opposition out of the game. Now he can hope for NZ to get 160-180 and he will score his little 50 to be happy

Babar too scared to bat first and be positive
He literally realizes his weaknesses but doesn't do anything about it. This weakness and negative energy batting first is what cost us the 2021 and 2022 T20 World Cups.

As I said.
You will now have to hope that the opposing side won the toss and choose to bat first the next time you want to watch Pakistan bat first.
