What's new

India v Australia | 1st Test - Day 2| Bangalore | 9/10/08

Another Boundary of the Jumbo who is losing his fuel big times now

105.6 Kumble to Hussey, FOUR, Shot! over-pitched, gently gets his foot to the pitch, opens the face a bit, and drives it between mid-off and extra cover. What finesse. Real Mr Cricket!

106.6 Harbhajan Singh to Haddin, 1 run, another quick single, it's Ishant this time. Just a tap towards point, and off they went. Ishant was slow to start

Ok even the young guns of India are struggling in the field

107.1 Kumble to Haddin, FOUR, lofted over mid-on, smart shot. It wasn't a bad delivery, but Haddin hit through the line, and up and over

Another Missile hits Jumbo

Piyush Chawla anyone?!

I am not an Indian supporter but for the betterment of Indian cricket I want Kumble to quit Test cricket after this over :P

107.6 Kumble to Haddin, no run, Kumble has become a medium-pacer. Another seam-up delivery, Haddin defends it towards square leg, without major trouble

No power in the wrists or fingers aye...?

Yep I want him to play but would love to see him Play against Pakistan and YK must be licking his lips.

And why not Ojha, he is pretty decent.

BTW what are your spin options:
1. White
2. clark
3. katich
4. watson
?

Our spin options are:

1. -
2. -
3. -
4. -

So really, there is NO REASON for you guys to lose this game. We have no spin attack at all!

Apart from Zak no bowler has looked like getting a wicket. On another note, markets are tumbling all over. Nikkee down 8%. India 5+%

If Kumble flops in this series, its most likely going to be his last. I think the Fab4 will be gone after this series especially if they flop too. Maybe Tendulkar will stay.

Sharma has bowled really well once again!

Zaheer on the other hand in missing the "zip"

True, what an amazing talent he is. very impressed, but I felt that he was getting predictable with his inswingers. His strategy was like two or three wider deliveries(and they were too wide) and then couple of his deadly inswingers, good thing is that he has a good command on his inswingers. In time he will add more control and more weapons to his bowling and will be a nightmare for big bats.

Clarkey will rip them up mate :)

Who came up with the fab 4....
Fab 4 couldn't be better than the youngsters nowadays.
Indian middle order strong against attacks on pancakes

I guess it will be a crunch series for Wall and VVS, Sachin is secure somewhat. But I wont be surprised he also decides to hang his shoes.

PS Sidhu emails: "Maybe India should consider sending Yuvraj in wearing a Ganguly mask. Then they can effect a run out!"

:))) :))) :)))

109.5 Kumble to Haddin, no run, this one si slower, and goes straight with the arm, but the pitch is too slow to cause Haddin any trouble

Irony for Jumbo, once he is slow then the pitch is slow, what shud the old man do?

Mark from Chicago: "Kumble's average just went from 29.47 to 29.48. Surely he can't be termed great if once it hits 30."

Any Indians agree?

Kumble in his initial years seemed great because of his unique style and had several variations. He was also extremely successfull since he played mostly in India. He was then sorted out by SA and the rest of the world that his stock delivery is like a medium pace. His variation is a googly which actually turns.

This is why he is not great. Great players/people counter adapt when they are sorted out. But Kumble has not. So as it is, he is now an overhyped brand name effective only in India after day 3.

111.5 Kumble to Haddin, 2 runs, quicker, flatter, on off stump, Haddin is cramped for room but still manages to open the face of the bat and guide it towards gully, smart late cut there

Dada is everywhere on the field

Some ppl think this was a close call....

Thats where it landed. And he played a shot. So even appealing for it in the first place was abit desperate.

The answer to your query Milo is that they know the rules when it suits them.

Every possible bit of doubt is brought into play if the decision is against India, if the decision is for India well that's just cricket.

Is the ball in the air or has it hit the ground already?
It was already landed.

Btw, its not the indian fans complaining (before we get in another fight :P)... the non-Indian commentator @ sky sports thought it was a close call (without seeing replays i think), and cricinfo also says it JUST pitched outside leg.

Some ppl are just blind i think :)

Ah Cricinfo counts as India fans. That commentary yesterday was more biased than the Indian commentators on my stream.

At least you dont have to listen to Sunil and Nicholas.

Anyway, I wish Sehwag had have kept that thing on his head. Exposing the entirity of his face was too painful a sight my eyes just werent prepared for. It's like Darren Lehman's downsyndrome kid or something, yeesh.

Another session, another session won by aussie. Their superior mental domination over india is becoming painfully obvious. The lackluster attitiude of india's bowlers shows it quite clearly, so far anyway. The game is "not quite over" but the 1st nails have been driven in.

Haddin showing what a quality batsmen he is, a micheal clarke clone and Mr cricket is just doing what comes natraully to him.

Chill out dude..... :akhtar

Anyone seen that huge movement from Ishant? The pitch is really getting some cracks in it...

This partnership has been of vital importance to the Aussies as they're slowly yet surely putting themselves into a position of strength. There's no pressure though; just bat and bat and bat.

If not dismissed, I think the Aussies will bat for the rest of the day and try to shut India out of the match. If/when they start to get near to 500, we may see a shift in tempo and quick runs may be the order then. Long way to go yet...

And there it is a 9th Test hundred for Hussey! well batted!

"Everytime Hussey gets a 100, AUS win"

Does that really say that much, considering the fact that these Aussies win almost everytime :P

121.6 Harbhajan Singh to Haddin, no run, slider, turns in a fair amount and catches Haddin low on the front pad as he brings the bat down late, it is heading down leg stump and Koertzen starts shaking his head even as Harbhajan and Dhoni start appealing

LoLz Rudi :)))

Well lets hope Hussey stat stands true and india lose!

BEAUTIFUL dismissed by a very clever slower ball!!

Haddin gone!

123.3 Harbhajan Singh to Hussey, FOUR, good shot, using his feet and reaching out to smash this past mid-off

I hope they get another fine for excessive appealing. Learn the bloody rules FFS.

Did Grumble get hauled up before the match ref for dissent last night? I am guessing not.

Well done Haddin, an annoying 33 is good going.

Sharma and his hair easily the best bowler on show in this Indian lineup.

WHite is a pretty handy striker as much I have seen him he can hit some big blows.Especially against the spinners.

Still Lee and MJ and Clark to get out as well. This is the deepest Aus batting line up I have ever seen on paper.

But 350+ is acceptable. Any Indian match always revolves around how they bat anyway.

cricinfo terming Ishant (rf) means Right arm fast is he that fast
i dont think so :akhtar

He is not fast.

Lol Sunil Gavaskar arguing that Ganguly is a better cover drive than Hussey.

Bias much Sunny?

Funny thing is that Cricinfo seems to be the only ones who say he is express pace.

All others, including indian broadcasters like EPSN-STAR, NEO sports, NIMBUS etc say fast-medium :P

125.5 Harbhajan Singh to White, no run, flighted well, just outside off, inviting a drive, White obliges, it goes uppishly towards mid-off

Seems like he will go for it.
