Engalnd lost because they dont think like the top teams when they approach a 20-20 situation.they missed out because they did not send peterson or flintoff to open. if they dont take a calculated risk, they cant win.

Going by your analogy England should have easily won the last game even though India needed 43 of 54 odd balls lol but anyhow on paper England looks better than India but it would take more than a miracle for them to win the next 3 games even against a second string side

i am not suggesting that england should have won, or for that fact any other unfulfilled expectation. i am simply remarking that this victory will seem hollow and dubious.

if we win, which we did, there will be complains that england were hard done in by the DL method; and if we lose, which we did not, it would be quite disheartening considering the start sehwag and then later gambhir gave us.

truncated games often leave much to be asked.

Dimitri cant bowl and save for that one exploit where the wisdom of bowling yuvraj in the 50th over escapes most, he cant bat either.

if there is anything missing in this team, its a genuine opener. bopara is the next best thing to happen to english cricket since pietersen, and judging by his talent, he will soon establish himself as one of the finest english batsmen. he needs to be provided support to blosson, and not the additional burden of opening. similarly, if shah persistently perform as he did today, him and bopara would make for an invincible middle order.

england needs quality spinners and thats probably why swann made it to the 11.
