Poor job by Pak firlders and spinners and Shoiabs captaincy you cant ask Pak to make 280+ two times in a row
 
ridiculous.

We bowl well overall and they still score near enough 300.

Terrible!
 
Ok guyz, don't take it wrong but this score is harder to get then mohali match because of the 2 pace pitch. pakistan have to play good good cricket to get this target
 
295 to win.

India looking to get 320 at one stage have reached 294.

I think that is 30 too many for Pakistan's liking, and India have probably batted Pakistan out of this game. This is the record total at Kanpur with the first innings avg. being 225.
 
India done: 294/6...as before not good not bad..Pak batsmen can, with some solid effort, make it happen again. Thankfully 5 over 50 run shelling by Dhoni and Yuvi was the only reason we could get to this much atleast.

Now its upto the bowlers to not screw up, as before.
 
295 to win!!! Another 45 ball 100 may be needed!

Don't worry guys ! our bowlers suck in the last 15 overs pretty much against any team in the world. If Pakistan can keep wickets for the last 16 overs they can easily overhaul the total.
 
Rameez keeps saying Rehman shouldnt have been bowled in the 49th over but he's forgetting we had to bring the seamers back early and they had bowled themselves out so it made sesne to use our specialist spinner!
 
The bowler I am most worried about is zaheer khan....he somehow manages to give the opposition the start they need.
 
Thats about 50 more runs than we should have let them get. Ian Gould certainly cost us a few with his horrendous decision giving Yuvraj not out when it was hitting the middle of middle.

This is going to take some chasing.

He had no choice, he had to try and get Yuvi and Dhoni out and it worked.

If he hadnt used the pacers when he did we would be looking at 320+

Exactly..if Malik had not brought the pacers on earlier this could easily be 325 score.

You are talking about the "10 run opening over" right :)) He has been doing that since 2003 world cup consistently.

If Malik can be criticised for anything it would be leaving the spinners till the 20th over and using too many pace overs within the first 20.
 
well all of these problems should have been avoided if we played 4 fast bowlers - that's is where we really messed up !

I think Afridi should be sent in at number 3 to try and give us a few quick runs and bring the RR down

Every Indian batsmen hit double figures. Good all-round effort. We'll need one as well... especially a good opening partnership!

It never really turned for them anyway, The Indians were under pressure at that point and Afridi partnering Tanvir would've been a good move and saved Gul and Akhtar for middle overs and death overs bursts

Looks like the schedule end was 12:30 and I am sure we ended long after that.
 
Open with Sohail Tanvir perhaps? This is a very small ground after all and we have a few players who can mishit for six here? Malik has to come in early though.
 
the problem was not of playing a spinner..the problem is Pakistan have not brought a quality spinner on tour...Rehman is not good...you dont play 4 pacers on a turning track..thats ridiculous

if u happened to ... even u could have realized that our fast bowlers did quite well while our spinners got raped.

It is not a bad option to play a spinner if the opposition is England. Indians play spinners day in day out. They will just wait for spinners to come on and when they are on they will just pound them.

No need to gift wrap India a wicket in the first 5 overs

yep that was quite obvious going into the series .. but the retarts that run our team thought wow rehman was great against south africa .. he'll be great against india as well.
 
Our selectors are sadly the biggest buffoons in the game of cricket.

How the hell can they play an average spinner like Rehman against India? If they wanted an extra spinner they should have just brought in Fawad. It's not like Rehman contained anything.

Aaaah. What's done is done. Let's hope we can get off to a good start.

Dead right. 20/20 game has changed the approach of chase in one dayers. Keep wickets until 34th over and go ballistic in the last 16. It comes most of the time. 130 runs in the last 15 overs was extremely impossible in the late 90s. Now it is a piece of cake.
 
Strange how the game has changed in 10 years..... then it would be get the impetus and bulk of the runs in the first 15.....now it is the other way around.
