India v Pakistan | Semi-Final | U19 World Cup | Potchefstroom | 4th Feb, 2020 | Pakistan innings

Rohail will be perceived as the last man standing who fought while others crumbled around him, but the scratchy start to his innings when Haider was looking good and Pakistan were batting at a good rate was the turning point.

Had he managed to put his foot down at that point, we could have challenged India. A poorly constructed, aimless innings by a player who does not look like he is going to threaten Sarfraz and Rizwan in the near future.

You said you would not be watching this game Monsee

Rohail cannot be even Misbah. At least Misbah used to hit big against spinner but Rohail is even slower than that with very limited batting ability.

11 overs and a batsman set on 59*.

Let’s try getting 200-220 and give it a all or nothing attempt in the field. Need to stay strong here

Rohail has been so scratchy, will have to turn it around completely for that to happen.

Usually in Test matches to protect tail batsman would take single of 5th ball . That is what Rohail is doing

I must admire Chief Destroyer for being accurate on Rohail :salute

Or maybe this indian bowling line up is too extreme for them to face..

I never over estimate our team like Ronaldo but at least know these players potential. They are not that great but lack of maturity is our players biggest setback after lack of talent.

Seems like the same old negative pak mentality kicking in now. Instead of aiming for 250. They looking to settle for 210

Game on hai. This is U19 cricket and a total close to 200 in a knock out pressure match is competitive.

Rohail will be next Azhar Ali in ODI. But our tail is one of the worst to score 20 runs with 3-4 players together.

Looks like they are aiming for 200 and then 10 good balls to win this semifinal.

I don’t mind this, maybe Rohail knows something about the wicket we don’t and believes he has the plan to defend it

None of the Pak batsmen look comfortable against well directed short balls. Not sure how good INdians are .

I really hope that's the case... otherwise it looks really bad out there. How can we get bowled out on such a flat pitch!?

It’s under 19s guys.

Pak can still give it a good shot with early wickets and pressure up front. Hope for the best

Looks like Pakistan are collapsing.

They need at least 220 to give the bowlers something to defend.

Cornered tiger moment for Pakistan !! bowlers firing on all cylinders and India collapsing like in 2006

Terrible stuff by the captain. If that stupid runout wasnt enough he plays this shot.

He knows nothing

Wondering why pakistan u19 had won 5 out of 9 encounter against india u19

Perhaps a lot to do with how the two countries are developing their talent. Each successive batch of Indian youngsters is showing more maturity and mental toughness than their Pakistani counterparts and the difference is most stark in high pressure situations. In a lot of ways we are still playing the game like it was played in the 90s where you didn't care about specific roles in an U19team and at least one or two of the players in the team were either underutilized or played as filler. We saw that today with Fahad and Irfan, whose role in the team isn't very clear. If Irfan is a proper batsmen why is he playing at 7 and if he is an allrounder then why does he never bowl? Moreover this Indian team has been playing together as a unit for some time now while Pakistan has made a lot of changes to its squad over the same period.

Unmukt Chand (u19 wc winning captain) who's been covering the tourney said 230 from Pak could be a winning total.
Ok never mind, your captains gone.

Indians are schooling this pak batting line up.. before game they were giving interview to local channels.. however Indian team wasn't uttering any word.. even the pak coach was going gung ho.. lol

Haider is probably the only player who would get into the India side.

It is a complete mismatch between products of an elite cricket nation and a mediocre cricket nation.

Guys its not about mentality or pressure of playing India.Truth to be told we are no where near the talent India is producing. This was the actual test for this team.

Some of you guys are behaving like Pakistan are on 100-7

Guys we have runs on the board. Ideally not a lot but we have runs to defend here. Stay positive, this is not senior men’s cricket where the performance levels of certain individuals is a given.

So looks like it will be a India - Bangladesh final. The two best teams in this U19 cycle.

I think it’s good in the long term that we lose this match. PCB needs a wake up call about our U13, U16 systems rather than this win covering a broken bone with a bandage

With more practice Tyagi will become a potent LOI bowler. His willingness to bowl yorkers is quiet pleasing to see. Yorker takes a lot out of a bowler

I won’t use the world talent though. Talent of a function of your cricket system. If you invest in a sport, you will eventually find talent for that sport.

France is the world champions in football but if they convert their academies into cricket academies, they will eventually produce cricket talent as well.

India though is lightyears ahead of us in terms of execution of skills, minimizing elementary errors, player development especially in terms of mental strength etc.

Unless Pakistan’s economy booms, we have no chance of competing with them anymore.

Disappointing but still not over unless Pakistan give up. U19 cricket has come a long way and these youngsters are a lot more prepared than their counterparts from a decade ago but they are still kids and can do strange things under pressure. Ijaz needs to ensure that our shoulders don't slump and we go all out for wickets in the first 10 overs. 3 wickets in the first ten and it will be a different game altogether.

This. I dearly hope so. Hopefully we can get 2-3 wickets upfront in the first 10 overs..

Our tail still bats like 80s ODI. Why cannot coach teach them some basic to score 15-20s at least?

Pakistan removed Bangladesh for 106/9 on this pitch. I’m not going to underestimate the bowling against India so soon.

How many times we have seen it.. before game pak players nd their team management going all trumpet nd hoink before the game.. just before the game pak captain nd hurriera guy was giving interview to samaa tv.. even pak coach made pretty bold claims.. now what left with a egg on the face

Seeing tears and long faces, they look depressed already
