What's new

INDIA Vs AUSTRALIA - DLF CUP

Danny Morrison saying

' I thought the players were asking him back...but of course theyre Aussies..they wouldnt do that'

:)) :))

How comicall... Tendu goes haha.. would've been funny if he made it count though!! I was actually getting behind him!

Lee getting some swing here... Indians will have to ride him and McGrath out! I can see Sehwag falling very cheaply here... it will depend a lot on Kaif and Dravid, I feel!

I know but also remember India batted first, in this match they are chasing

Kaif to lead today :D

Woke up to check the score. Seems like we're still in with a shout. If we can get rid of Dravid I'll sleep easier. We need wickets.

guys... watch ur language!

Lee bowling beautifully!! Gotta love genuine fast bowling :D

jusarrived like i told you before, predictions or no predictions, india are going down in this one and with that, coming back home ;)

420, why u like to make fool of urself everytime?

35/2 8.2 overs.

Well we got the two early wickets that we needed!

It is our game really from here.......the only thing you can say is that India CAN still win this match. Have to put us as the favourites at this stage.

Ok chaps - enough bakwas on this thread.

Next person to use foul language will be banned for a few weeks - so think carefully before posting any stuff like that.

Stuart Clark redeems himself with an excellent return catch.

India in some trouble at 50/3.

And another one! Dravid plumb in front, lbw.

2 wickets for Stuart Clark in this over.

What's a bakwa, btw?

That was a big over from Stuey Clark, went a fifth of the way towards making up for his disgraceful effort the other day. He's obviously realised his spot is on the line and has responded accordingly.

bakwas is when someone is talking rubish.

Indians in dire straits... Raina will have to build a partnership and set a platform for Dhoni to launch from... looks like a lost cause though!

14.5 Clark to Mongia, FOUR, edged between the wicketkeeper and slip for four! That pitched on middle and moved a shade away, Mongia was completely squared up and the ball kissed the outside edge and threads the gap

who is watching match? who should have gone for it ?

Wow, what an over that!

Congratulations Australia to the finals.

Too early to say that. Fat lady is a long way away from singing. Another couple of wickets, including that of the cowlasher, and I'll breathe easier.

It was a perfect catch for first slip... however, haddin should've dived for it.. if he went for it he might have got his glove on it, but he just watched it go through because it was almost EXACTYL in between him and first slip. Oh well... happens, Mongia gets lucky!

Forgot to mention, there was no 1st slip; it was just Haddin and a 2nd slip; ball bisected both.

Raina scores two successive fours off Lee. One lofted drive over cover, the other a glance to fine leg.

ita 'bakwas' meaning stupid/idiotic talks....nuff said...do u really wanna get banned from the forum

Relax guys - no one is getting banned for asking a question ! That will come later :D

four again.. this raina kid can bat. He's batted well before at times too. I think that it's all upto these two young guys to pull up their socks and make their stay at the crease count. Dhoni will do jack, you can sense it! He chokes like the rest of the lineup when it comes to the real deal. Indians will have to pin their hopes on these 2 youngsters... Yuvraj being sorely missed here!

These two batsmen are showing the way ... if only the senior players could apply themselves like they are! :)))

I've noticed especially with the Indian side that the youngsters are usually the ones who put their arm up and give a performance, while the seniros do what they are best at doing in clutch matches: choke.

72-4 (18 ov.)

Can hear the azaan in the background! Reminds me... I should go pray lol!

MIG BHAI just see post of Destroyer used word "chamar" is it allowed on pp ?

Destroyer has been destroyed. He was an Indian troll from a hate-pit Indian forum/website which I'm sure you all know about.

They come here regularly and abuse Indians/Hindus in an attempt to try and upset our Indian users and turn PP into another hate-pit. What they forget is that we can check their IP's and their previous identities too!

Anyway never mind. The troll has been banned and his posts deleted. If you see anything similar in future, then PM whichever mod is online and we'll deal with it in the same fashion!!

A decent partnership is building up. They are running very quick singles and putting the Aussie fielders under a bit of pressure.

nice clean hit for 6! this partnership needs to last till the end, or almost till the end.

I can't see either of these middle-innings bowlers taking a wicket.

OZ 213, India 4/91 in the 23rd over. This one will go down to the wire.

Australia 213 (48.1 ov)
India 91/4 (22.5 ov)
India require another 123 runs with 6 wickets and 27.1 overs remaining

India RR 3.98
Required RR 4.52
Australia RR (4.42) 4.26

Raina and Mongia are the batsmen out there, Raina playing beautifully and Mongia giving steady support!

If these 2 can adda nother 40-50, game to India me thionks.

Whats the deal - winner into the final v WI, or is it a bit more complicated? Must admit, I havent followed this tournament at all.

That i guess puts India into some trouble. I cant see the rest of the batting order taking it through. I will be happy to be proved wrong.

Yup..WI have already qualified..they hav 2 wins to australia & india's 1...

Whoever wins this match will go on to face Windies in the final, bonus points won't save Aussies if they lose here! Oh, and if India is the team that goes to the finals Windies will get an alleged $1 million (according to sauces :P)

Huge wicket. If we can get rid of Dhoni cheap (maybe tempt him to do a bit of cowlashing which shouldn't be hard) the tail will be exposed.

It would be interesting to see India and West Indies contend the final with Aus sat on the sidelines!!

Raina departs.. won't be happy with himself at all with that! I think this is it for India... I really can't see Dhoni do anything in this situation... however if Mongia can stay till the VERY end India may have a chance!

Will be interesting how Dhoni takes it. Lot of balls left, will he hold his instincts? :D

Don't see much chance of that happening Merc! Dhoni is about as brainless as Afridi when it comes to clutch moments like these! It's upto Mongia to keep playing naturally without coming under pressure and attack... and hope it comes off. I personally would like to see the better team win today but like you said, it would be something new to see Aussies sit out of the finals.

I dont completely agree - he had played the patience game before and helped chase totals. I hope he has learnt a lesson from the last match :)

Well there are a couple of times Afridi changed the course of the innings as well... vs Australia in the VB series (2nd game against them) & even more importantly, a super-clutch game in the last ICCT where it was basically a Quarterfinal situation between India and Pakistan. Back-to-back sixes against Irfan Pathan boosted Pakistan into the semi-final stage against the Windies.

That said, Afridi usually doesnt perform when the team is in need of 100+ runs and he comes down the order at #7 or 8, etc. Dhoni is the same in most of the games I've seen. He could prove me wrong today though!

Zulfiqar, I wasnt talking about Dhoni in comparison with Afridi - I just replied to your point that he is a brainless slogger.
