Calcutta used to produce great atmosphere but I guess this venue has fallen as well just like other cricket stadiums in the world. IPL is also a reason IMO.

Not IPL....BCCI is the reason !!! after Dalmiya left...due to issues with West bengal board...enough high profile matches were not given....and also like everywhere else....test match turn out has decreased a big in stadiums....I am hoping we will have a decent turnout...but the thing is in eden gardens...even 20,000 turn our looks small due to the capacity....

These cricket ads make me sick..."India wins"... "India!, India!", "Angrezo ki bansuri".. the last I hate particularly.

One, we haven't won a lot lately, and two, it's obvious kaun kiski baja raha hai....bansuri.

^^^^

Lol..so ttrue !!! but I guess....little patriotism by an indian channel does not hurt ....

Thank god...no aleem daar this test......cook must be sad

there is a chance of an indian win :P

It's quite pathetic to be honest, sometimes we take a lot of advantage of them not understanding our language. How annoyed we would have been if the English made similar ads?

The fact that Patel is still in the team is a travesty. Get a genuine bat in.

Anderson bowling really well so far. Probably wont draw an edge despite it.

India enjoying the toss winning again . They would look to bat big here and put Eng under pressure.

And here, were have the specimen that is so common to English Cricket. The unlucky Anderson.

looks like a 500 pitch.. India would be disappointed if they cant get there

There is no term as unlucky bowler. If you keep bowling on good areas you will get wickets. If you bowl one or two good deliveries in b/w and beat the bat you are not going to get wickets and you ain't unlucky for not getting it.

+1

And if you are unlucky, it signifies you are not consistently bowling the good balls!

P.S: Ishant Sharma

The general consensus is that Anderson is massively unlucky, he usually bowls tight spells with some good balls and rarely gets rewarded. Broad usually reaps the benefits on the other end.

Just when I thought we have somehow survived the tough part, this stupid run-out happens

good batting pitch...sehwag got out in his typical fashion..gambhir s got start...lets see if he converts into big score or not.

Another selfish innings from Gambhir. Should have sacrificed his wicket. Cant believe this guy is batting and not Sehwag. If Sehwag was here, we would have had another 30 runs by now and more to follow. :po:

Panesar without a doubt has the most irritating celebration I have seen in recent times.

Swann and Panesar are miles ahead of our spin bowlers! They look like picking up a wicket evry other ball!

If Gambhir was given out for that appeal, would the umpires ask Cook to reconsider the appeal :)

good session for India here, 90 / 2

They would look to end the day with 300 for 3 or 4 here

How is that a good session? Two of the three highest averages for them are out. On a flat flat flat pitch.
