Kohli should understand how much pressure he put on himself (as a lone batsman) by making stupid selections in previous tests! A Partnership between these two would have repeated in previous matches as well (Bhuvi was left with tailenders on at least two occasions)

It seems like Aleem Dar is in favor of resuming the game but Ian Gould want it to end... Dar is giving a big favor to india here
 
India have to win from here, this pitch has backfired massively on South Africa. Maybe they shouldn't have moaned so much about the second test being 100% Indian conditions :srt

Second test being Indian conditions is totally fakenews. If it was true, then India would have scored 600+ in an innings and Ashwin would have taken a 10-fer.

SA is losing it as India is increasing the lead. They probably were looking for skittling out below 170. Moment India crossed that mark SA is choking. Getting desperate and making errors.
 
I really worry when India bowl because this is a soft old ball, I fear what will happen with a new a ball

Non-Asian teams don't have a clue about that stuff though. Anything that isn't green and turns a tiny bit = Asian conditions and all Asian conditions are the same.

As far as they are concerned Karachi is the same as Kandy, which is the same as Calcutta, which is the same as Dhaka, which is the same as Dubai.

Even without the uneven bounce, there is plenty of lateral movement and that too for a 70 overs old ball.

The pitch is poor, but no need for stupid comments about it. Kohli in all probability agreed to carry on playing on it at Lunch, so no need to complain or blabber on about it.

Also, comments on RSA choking....err please. For choking, look at India in the first two tests, where they squandered opportunities to put themselves in front, and even win either of the tests.

Rahane proving how stupid the brains trust of Kohli and Shastri is. Too good a player to be left out for Rohit Sharma.

Cause for concern for India is that these two are making it look easy. Shows that with a bit of application and intent (and some luck), you can make runs. Still need 220+ to start even contemplating that a win is possible.
 
Rahane 43* (52) on this minefield. That's what happens when the captain finally lets go of his ego to make selections based on proper merit. Great innings.

To be fair to the critiques, that wicket was a lot easier to bat on than the first test wicket. The wicket was hard and bouncy with no side way movement unlike the first test. However this wicket on the current match is easily the hardest wicket of the 3, so Kohli performed real well this series imo. First test we can forgive him, he was still in lala land coming off his honeymoon from wedding..

You don't need to tell me, I've been yelling at people here for over a decade to stop worrying about how brown batsmen perform in England or South Africa.

They come to Asia and get humiliated time and time again and they still hold their guys up at ATG world beaters.

I guess some people think they'll have an easier time getting a visa if they show their posting history or something

It is even harder when the ball is new. He faced a relatively newish ball.

Fair comments. Fully agreed.

About time you praise Kohli and Ashwin for their performance too.

Kohli has been head and shoulders above all uptil now. Clutch knock in Cape Town and in here.

And Ashwin has averaged 30 with the ball in a series where his counterpart has been averaging over 100. Would have averaged late teens to low twenties had all catches been taken. Some gutsy performances with the bat too.

But somehow, I feel Sharma won’t be too fornfrom any playing 11.

Disgraceful pitch. Having movement is one thing, but uneven bounce which cab be dangerous is another.

That's not needed now. The idea is to bat and swell the lead as much as possible. This pitch is gonna get worse anyway and Saffers have to bat on it at its worst.

Rahane gone. South Africa's game to lose now. Chasing 225 should be a cakewalk for a champion side like SA against Indian trundlers.
 
Kudos to Bhuvi and Rahane. Bhuvi is a better batsman than Pandya. Even Ashwin would have contributed more than Pandya here.
