Wish Sachin could flame Manjrekar on Twitter a bit. Johnson was poor in the UAE since unlike Steyn, he doesn't possess the skill or mental guile to survive in tough conditions.

He might be a shade better than Anderson in that respect though, but that's about it.

^Nice double standards. I wonder how Rahat got 6 wickets? It's called bloody skill with the ball.
Any bowler can be gifted a few wickets (Rahat earned his fair few as well) but getting 260, nope. That takes a massive amount of skill, I doubt there is actually a batsmen alive (including Kohli and AB) who could do what Rohit did, well one we've seen anyway.

Taylor's the best bat in NZ ATM. Him and Baz are two players who I think are credited way more less than they should be. 1 bad game and the toys are out  On a side note you guys give way to much credit and hype two untested players aka Williamson and Andreson who if they even become half the batsman Taylor is would be an ideal scenario for NZC

Double standards for flat pitches. He was complaining when Pakistan was scoring but started appreciating when Rohit scored. All you Indians are the same.

Yeah, 6 wicket match bags on flat wickets are rarer than ODI 250s :afaq

I don't agree with that Johnson comment btw, I was merely replying to Rohits 250 requiring more skill than picking up a 6 wicket match bag on a road.

IIRC, Rahat didn't do much on the same wickets MJ played on.

For all you know, MJ could have taken a 10 wicket bag against us on the same wicket :afaq

Yeah, well he didn't.

Anyways your fellow Indian's hypocrisy has been exposed. When Pakistan score, it's a flat track so nothing special. And when Rohit scores against the trundler brigade, gotta appreciate the effort. Okay there.:ibutt

Idc what he says really, just highlighting the hypocrisy. End of conversation.

Okay, let me get this straight - taking 6 wickets in a match on a road > Scoring an ODI 250 on a road. Right?

Being gifted 2-3 wickets and taking 1 wicket of a tailender doesn't require much skill imo.

18.3 to Williamson, 134.9 kph, bowled him! What a way to go! It's a blockhole delivery outside the line, and he jams his bat down on it, and it bounced back towards the stumps. Williamson looked to swat it away with his bat but couldn't get there before the ball had hit the base of middle stump 38/2
42.6 to Anderson, 134.9 kph, chopped it on! It was short outside off, and he went hard at it with an angled bat, and inside-edged it onto his stumps. Not wide enough to cut, poor shot 130/4
72.4 to Latham, 138.6 kph, given! Latham has reviewed, but it looked close. After two balls that left Latham, he bowls the inswinging yorker. It hits his front pad on the full, and his head falls over as he looks to work it leg side. Is it swerving too much and missing leg stump? It's clipping the outside of leg stump, quite low, and the umpire gave that out so his decision will stand. End of an excellent innings from Tom Latham. We'll be seeing a lot more of him in the future. 215/6
74.5 to Southee, 138.7 kph, this time he gets him. It's a similar delivery, a little closer to off, and Southee goes after it with no footwork. The line of the ball made it easier for Sarfraz, didn't have to dive this time and it came to him at waist height 219/8

30.2 to Neesham, 137.2 kph, gone! Came haflway forward to a length ball outside off and poked at it away from his body as it moved away late off the pitch, after shaping in in the air. Got a thin edge through to Sarfraz 112/5
30.3 to Watling, 141.3 kph, bowled him! It was sliding down the leg side and he looked to clip it away into the leg side. Didn't connect with the bat but it hit the underside of his bulging thigh pad and deflected onto the stumps 112/6

Requires more skill than making an ODI 250

The comment on Rahat was just extra.

I was highlighting the hypocrisy of Manjrekar when he downplayed our performance against Johnson and co. with the bat on flat tracks but was in awe in Sharma's case.

It was unfair to see Johnson bowl on such a wicket - for a fan, it's understandable sometimes people forget experts are fans as well. We all want to see a firing Johnson. What he said about Rohit was right as well, the wicket was flat and the bowlers were rubbish but it still takes immense ability to score as many as 250 runs in 50 overs. Heck some teams have struggled to make 100 against a similar attack.

Experts need to keep in mind some fans don't understand that they're fans themselves.

Need to be more careful with what they post or they'll be labelled haters :moyo

Yes, and all I saying was he should stay consistent in his views because 9 tons in 2 tests was a record-breaking performance - plus against a better attack.

lol at Manjrekar, did India prepare bouncy tracks or the ones with grass when last time Australia toured India ???

Okay, let me get this straight - taking 6 wickets in a match on a road > Scoring an ODI 250 on a road. Right?
If indian pitches have always been flat and whatever you are saying is right then Javagal Srinath is a legend because he has bowled on those pattas throughout his career.

32 matches in india
108 wkts
26.61 avg
Best 8/86 (i watched that live)

If indian batsman have batted on roads then credit must be given to some of the indian bowlers too for bowling on those roads and getting wickets. :murali

lots of tweets by many international cricketers regarding Phil Hughes. From Pakistan, Ajmal, Hafeez, Kamran Akmal, Shehzad, Afridi, Umar Akmal, Shan Masood, Imran Farhat, Umar gul, Wahab Riaz etc have paid tribute and so have most players from other nations. In this tough time for cricket I am at least glad to see the cricket world unite for Phil Hughes. May he RIP
